The Sun’s entry into Libra marks the Fall Equinox, and a Pisces Full Moon radiates spiritual opening and divine inspiration. Hard aspects between Mercury and slower planets keep a communication-challenging Grand Cross in play.
Four Venus aspects to slower planets put the spotlight on relationships, finances and creativity, and a Saturn-Pluto sextile calls for the transformation or release of outmoded structures. Plus Pluto stations direct!
Considered unto itself, today’s Mercury-Uranus opposition makes it easier for your mind to receive intuitive flashes and brilliant ideas. For a deeper understanding, consider the Grand Cross and T-square that these planets help form.
In fact, that T-square started on 9/13, peaks today and ends on 9/19. It includes Mercury, Jupiter and Uranus.
You can enjoy an easier financial flow as two money-themed planets, Pluto and Ceres, trine. Their placement in earth signs – Pluto in Capricorn and Ceres in Virgo – can further aid your monetary manifestation!
Both the communication of your creativity and more run-of-the-mill communication with others are enhanced with Libran Mercury sextile Mars.
A Neptune-Vesta opposition can provide a flow of intuitive guidance to help you serve a higher cause. It can also help you access higher consciousness more easily during tantric sex.
The month-long Cradle that started on 9/2 peaks today and ends on 9/30. In brief, it features Ceres, Saturn, Chiron and Pluto, and offers support for the healing of abundance or self-esteem issues.
Challenge and transformation could be your relationship keywords as Venus aspects Saturn and Pluto.
A Venus-Saturn conjunction can show you where restructuring or release is needed in your relationships, finances and creativity. When these challenges arise, can you be thankful to Saturn for bringing you unpleasant but ultimately helpful opportunities for improvement? And be sure to notice how Saturn can help create more solid foundations and add new structures when things are going well!
A Venus-Pluto sextile works similar territory, calling for the transformation or destruction of those relational, financial and creative situations which do not empower your evolution. But it also adds positive energy to situations in these three areas that are in harmony with your soul purpose.
Pisces Full Moon
September’s Full Moon shines forth at 7:13 AM (26°40′ Pisces). Check how “full-filled” you are with your spiritual unity, creative inspiration, compassion and unconditional love and make appropriate adjustments. This is also a good time to see if you need to deal with any issues relating to substance abuse or excessive escapism.
There are no significant aspects to this lunation.
This Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol is “A harvest moon illuminates the sky.” Are you reaping the things you truly desire in your life, or did you somehow “fall” short? Pisces rules visualization and imagination, essential Law of Attraction tools. If your harvest is unsatisfactory, start planting new seeds in your “mind field!”
Scorpionic Venus aspects three planets today!
A Venus-Ceres sextile can throw some financial luck your way, especially since the even more financially fortuitous Ceres-Pluto trine, exact on 9/17, is still active.
A Venus-Chiron trine can make the healing of old emotional wounds more flowing and harmonious, and supports mentorship around relationships, finances and creativity.
A Venus-Uranus quincunx can require adjustment in your relationships, finances and creativity. Fortunately, Uranus will pop down intuitive flashes to guide you in making these changes.
A Ceres-Chiron opposition can catalyze financial challenge in order to show you what monetary issues need healing.
Pluto Stations Direct
Pluto, retrograde since 4/12, stations direct today. This is a great time to launch any plans you’ve been making that relate to transformation or the release of what no longer serves you. This is also one of those moments when it’s easier than usual to release some of your ego’s control and let your divine wisdom take over.
Pluto stations direct at 8°59′ Capricorn. Any sensitive point in your natal chart between 6° and 12° of a cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) can be strongly affected by the themes described in the preceding paragraph.
Ready to release all that stuff you don’t need? Possessions, relationships, concepts, the works? That’s a good first step under a Saturn-Pluto sextile, especially with these planets in mutual reception! (Saturn is in Scorpio, the sign Pluto rules. And Pluto’s in Capricorn, the sign Saturn rules.)
The more thoroughly you jettison the nonessential, the easier it will be to create strong new structures better suited to your current needs. This two-month sextile kicked in on 8/19, peaks today and ends on 10/19.
With Ceres quincunx Uranus, intuitive flashes may inspire you to make adjustments that will benefit your self-esteem and/or finances.
A Sun-Jupiter quintile is an energy booster and inspiration enhancer. The Sun leaves Virgo tomorrow, so there will only be a brief stimulation of themes related to health and service. After the Sun enters Libra tomorrow, the quintile from Jupiter will energize themes relating to relationship and creativity for several days.
The Sun enters Libra at the magical moment of 4:44:08 pm. This marks the Fall Equinox and ushers in the energies of relationship, beauty, creativity, harmony, equality, balance and fairness.
Fall Equinox Chart
The mundane chart for the Fall Equinox (9/22/13, 4:44:08 pm, Washington, DC), which gives a sense of the coming energies for the next three months, is stunningly complex. It contains over 25 aspect patterns! But fear not: I will only focus on those energies that are most important.
With planets splayed fairly evenly through the houses, one of the Equinox Chart’s messages is, “So many cool things to do, and so little time to do them.” So allow yourself plenty of variety this fall!
The Five-Point Opposition
A central focus of this chart is a five-point opposition. It features Venus, the North Node and Saturn in Scorpio opposing the Moon and South Node in Taurus.
On the Scorpio side, the extremely tight conjunction of Saturn and the North Node suggests that walking the path toward your highest destiny may involve challenge and require perseverance. Venus’ presence suggests that relationship may be a critical factor in this phase of that journey, so choose your partners and allies wisely. And the presence of all three of these points in Scorpio suggests that releasing that which has outlived its usefulness and embracing transformation may be an optimal modus operandi.
Opposite these three points, the Moon-South Node conjunction suggests that your highest good will be served by the clearing of old emotional baggage. Taurus, the sign these two points are in, tends to hold onto things, so this clearing may require stubborn persistence. Fortunately, stubborn persistence is something at which Taurus excels!
The Moon’s placement in Taurus suggests emotional groundedness and stability, which will prove helpful in this clearing process. Many of my clients find this healing invocation helpful in clearing old emotional charges.
Another centerpiece of the Fall Equinox Chart is a Grand Trine and the two Kites that branch from it. The Grand Trine features Capricornian Pluto in one corner, the Taurean Moon and South Node in another, and Virgoan Ceres and Vesta in the third corner of this equilateral triangle.
Financial opportunity is one theme, since the money planets Pluto and Ceres are involved. Plus the Grand Trine is in earth, the element of physical manifestation. Another possibility is the empowerment of your self-esteem as you pour yourself, heart and soul, into a higher calling in alignment with your soul purpose.
Adding the Kite points to this Grand Trine deepens the interpretation. For starters, Piscean Chiron opens the door to mentoring and healing, spiritual or otherwise.
The planets at the other kite point are Venus, the North Node and Saturn. I interpreted them above when describing this Equinox Chart’s central opposition, which is part of this Kite pattern. In this larger context, Venus and Saturn, the natural rulers of money and business, further empower financial opportunities. So does their sign, Scorpio, which rules great wealth.
Ceres and the Healing of Gaia
One final way I’d like to interpret this Grand Trine and its Kites focuses on Ceres. Also known as Demeter, she is the grain goddess and can represent the overall health of Earth’s environment. The fact that she’s in Virgo, the sign of healing, and is receiving a tight opposition from the “wounded healer” Chiron suggests strong healing possibilities. So do the numerous soft aspects – sextiles and trines – she’s receiving from numerous other members of this aspect pattern.
This suggests that it’s a good time to do whatever you can to promote Gaia’s well-being. This could range from conservation and recycling to volunteer work and environmental activism. And don’t forget that your own personal healing is an essential component of planetary healing. We can only sustain health and harmony in our environment if we possess it within ourselves. (If this is not yet true for you, my Core Invocation may help.)
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during void-of-course Moons. “Business as usual” is the optimal strategy. Void-of-course Moons occur when the Moon has made her last major Ptolemaic aspect, but has not yet moved into her next sign.
