Pluto Locks Into Aquarius for 18+ Years
One of the biggest astrological events of 2024 — Pluto locking into Aquarius for almost two decades — happens at 3:40 pm EST.
Pluto first entered Aquarius in 2023, late March thru mid-June. He returned to Aquarius in 2024, 1/20 through 8/31.
Today (11/19) Pluto locks into Aquarius for almost eighteen and a half years, thru 3/8/2043!
Pluto will spend about 20 years in Aquarius in total, profoundly influencing two historic decades. (Pluto’s previous transit of Aquarius started mid-1777, just after the American Revolution, and lasted for 21-1/2 years.)
Pluto’s Meanings
Pluto has the same meanings as Scorpio, since both represent the eighth astrological archetype.
For starters, Pluto represents death and rebirth. If something isn’t optimal, Pluto wants to either help you release it completely, or help you transform or heal it so it serves your highest good.
Wealth and Power
Two other major meanings of Pluto are wealth and power.
Obviously, wealth can be money or physical possessions. But it can also be anything you value, whether it’s tangible or intangible. This is a good time to let the universe know what specific manifestations of wealth are most important to you.
Power comes in two basic flavors. Service-to-self power is greedy, manipulative, and ruthless, with no concern for anything beyond selfish gratification.
Service-to-other power uses power for the greater good, with more concern for others than yourself. When you walk far enough on this path, helping others becomes your greatest pleasure!
Pluto entering Aquarius is a great time to clarify how you’re using power now, and how you want to use it moving forward.
The Occult and Trauma Healing
Pluto also rules the occult – which need not be creepy. Occult just means “hidden.” In astronomy, for example, occultation happens when an object is blocked by another object passing between it and the observer.
Pluto rules lots of things that aren’t visible, or aren’t obviously apparent to the five senses. Astrology is an occult art, for example, along with things like channeling, psychic abilities, and mediumship.
Pluto also rules psychology and trauma healing, so this aspect could also stir up some unhealed emotional wounds. This is a good time to have a quick and effective DIY shadow work technique on hand.
The Meanings of Aquarius
Aquarius can make it easier to “fly your freak flag.” Internally embrace what’s unique and special about yourself, and share it with the world to the greatest extent that serves highest good.
Aquarius rules intuitive hits. These can come more easily. And the highest Aquarian expression is to serve others with those special talents you most love to use!
From a community perspective, Aquarius can also be progressive, compassionate, justice-focused, and freedom-loving. The eleventh astrological archetype can be visionary, idealistic, and humanitarian, as well as philanthropic, socially engaged, and reform-minded.
From a more individual perspective, Aquarius can be ingenious, brilliant, and avant-garde. It can be inquisitive and open-minded. Finally, Aquarius can be determined, technology-focused, creative, and independent.

When you put Pluto and Aquarius together, you get “big change now!”
Because Aquarius carries the same energy as Uranus, Pluto in Aquarius is reminiscent of the 1960s. A Pluto-Uranus conjunction potently influenced history from 1960 to 1972. This is the biggest astrological reason why that was such a radically transformative decade all over the world.
Things always get intense when we join the eighth archetype, represented here by Pluto, and the eleventh archetype, represented by Aquarius (and Uranus). Once again, it’s time for “big change now!”
How to Use Pluto in Aquarius
Some of this global change will be beyond your control. But you have plenty of choice about the big changes you want in your own life. Pluto in Aquarius is perfect for rapidly accelerating your personal journey of transformation and evolution!
You can’t control everything in your personal life. Your higher self will make sure you get the experiences you need to fulfill your life purpose.
Some might be delightful, while some might be challenging. A lot depends on how willingly you get on board with what you incarnated to do as a human being.

The Sun enters Sagittarius at 2:56 pm EST. It’s easier to feel more exploratory, expansive, and adventurous for the next month. You can immerse more deeply into meaningful studies, or share your wisdom with others.
You can explore the endlessly fascinating variety of foreign cultures. And you can revel in more joy and celebration!
Even Sagittarius has its dark side, though. Be careful not to attempt too many things at once. And don’t be so sure that you fully understand the absolute truth about anything.
Sun Sextile Pluto
Less than an hour after entering Sagittarius, the Sun sextiles Pluto (0°2′ Sagittarius-Aquarius) at 3:49 pm EST. For starters, this adds smooth, strong power to all the Sagittarian possibilities above.
Pluto can also help you amplify your wealth and power, and can juice up your personal transformation. Shadow work, sacred sex, and occult practices can be energized. On a more down-to-earth level, you can use Pluto’s energy to help you with matters relating to insurance, inheritance, or taxes.

Venus Sextile Saturn
Would you appreciate energizing, harmonious stabilization of your relationships, creativity, or finances? A Venus-Saturn sextile (12°44′ Capricorn-Pisces) can help! These possibilities are supported even more since Venus is in Capricorn, the sign with the same meanings as Saturn.
The sextile can also help you relate with others as a wise elder and be more productive with your creativity. With Saturn in Pisces, a great placement for embodied awakening, you can also establish or deepen your ego’s unification with your higher self.
Uranus Trine Ceres

Venus Quintile Neptune
You can enjoy magically inspired creativity as Venus quintiles Neptune (15°10′ Capricorn-27°10′ Pisces). Venus is the artist, while Neptune offers a waterfall of divine inspiration.
This fairy dust aspect can also help you relate more consciously with the divinity inside yourself, and perceive it more clearly in everyone and everything around you.
11/25 (Mon)
Mercury Retrograde Starts
The final Mercury retrograde of 2024 starts at 9:42 pm EST (22°40′ Sagittarius). Mercury will turn direct again in about three weeks on 12/15 at 3:56 pm (6°23′ Sagittarius).
The Usual Advice
As always, Mercury retrograde is better for reflection than new action – although it’s a great time for repairs and completing what you’ve already started. If possible, delay major purchases and contract signings until Mercury is direct.
Travel and communication may be more challenging than usual, so double check your arrangements. Take care that you clearly understand what you’re being told and are being properly understood. And back up important data!
Sagittarius
Mercury retrogrades entirely within Sagittarius. So this is a great time to reflect on how to make the best use of these themes in your life.
You can dive more deeply into higher education, formal or self-guided, as a student. You can also bless others as a professor, philosopher, guru, or other wisdom-giver.
Sagittarius rules foreign travel. This could mean a physical excursion. But with today’s technologies, other countries and cultures can easily come to you.
Do you crave a deeper understanding of life? Sagittarius rules religion, philosophy and life’s meaning.
Are you living life as a quest or adventure? Sagittarius would love it if you did.
Are you experiencing enough celebration, euphoria and enthusiasm? These are Sagittarius’ most joyful expressions!
Endlessly expansive Sagittarius is the sign most likely to overdo things, so be careful not to put too many irons in the fire. Sagittarius can also believe it has the One True Way, even when it doesn’t, so don’t succumb to “street corner preacher syndrome.”

There are three notable aspects today.
Sun Trine Mars
You can enjoy an easy flow of vitality with the Sun trine Mars (5°34′ Sagittarius-Leo).
With Mars in Leo, the sign ruled by the Sun, you can function more smoothly as a leader or entertainer

Saturn Quintile Uranus
Saturn is the ancient ruler of Aquarius, while the sign’s modern ruler is Uranus. Saturn is more conservative and Uranus is more radical. But you can get them to play well together as they’re connected by a Saturn-Uranus quintile (12°48′ Pisces-24°48′ Taurus).
This quintile came into orb (close enough to be felt) on 7/28, was first exact on 9/20, and is exact once more today (11/27). Its effects will continue until 1/11/2025.
At the most basic level, Uranus (paradigm shift) can shake up any structures (Saturn) that no longer serve you. Is some physical or energetic structure in your life showing signs of discord?
If so, examine it closely. Should you completely release it? Or would the highest good of all be served by its transformation? Your intuition can guide you, supported by Uranus’ flashes of insight and Pisces’ waterfall of divine guidance.
