Venus Retrograde
Venus turns retrograde about every 19 months. Today (3/1) she reverses direction at 7:36 pm EST (10°50′ Aries). She’ll turn direct again in six weeks, on 4/12 at 9:02 pm EDT (24°37′ Pisces).
The retrogrades of personal planets like Venus affect us more strongly than the retrogrades of the more distant social and outer planets.
While Venus is backpedaling, it’s a great time to contemplate her main themes: relationships, creativity, and money. How’s your life going in these areas?
In a perfect world, you’d wait to take action on your new realizations until Venus turns direct. But do what you must when a situation requires it.
Relationships
Venus rules all important relationships. This includes romantic partners, lovers, family members, friends, business associates, and open enemies. If your life would be noticeably different without someone, it’s a Venus relationship.
Are your interactions with a specific person mostly negative, with little chance of significant benefit? Then consider whether you should stop interacting with this person completely, or at least minimize contact. Conversely, if a relationship is positive and beneficial, would it be wise to spend more time with them?
Then there are borderline relationships. These have significant potential as well as significant challenges. Based on the stories I’ve heard during 10,000+ AstroShaman client sessions, it can be hard to move these into the “great relationships” category.
The bright exceptions are when both people are
- highly motivated to heal the relationship,
- are willing and able to do their own shadow work, and
- are working with a proven, well-structured relationship healing process.

Creativity
Venus rules artistry and creativity. While she’s retrograde, reflect on the role this plays in your life.
If you’re not expressing your creativity, would it be good to start a new project? Should you re-engage with some artistic activity you’ve previously enjoyed?
If you’re actively creative now, are you happy with your current direction? Or is it time to shake things up?
Money
Relationships and creativity relate to Venus’ rulership of Libra. But Venus also rules Taurus, the sign associated with money.
If you don’t have detailed knowledge of your income and expenditures, Venus retrograde is a great time to get up to speed. Are there expenses that need pruning? Wise investments you should make? New income opportunities that would justify their time and energy, and would serve your highest good?
Venus’ Retrograde Signs
During her retrograde, Venus backpedals through the first eleven degrees of Aries and the last five degrees of Pisces.
Venus is in Aries from the start of her retrograde through 3/27 at 4:40:32 am EDT. This is great for reflecting on how assertively you’re focusing on relationships, creativity, and finances. Would it serve highest good for you to make new starts or be more proactive in any of these areas?
Venus spends the rest of her retrograde in Pisces, which she enters on 3/27 at 4:40:31 am.
How well are you receiving and manifesting your inspired creativity? How strongly are you perceiving divine energy in everyone and everything around you? Finally, how conscious and helpful is your connection with your higher self and the divine realms?
Sabian Symbol
Venus’ Sabian Symbol as she turns retrograde is, “The president of the republic, or the ruler of one’s country.” This invites you to reflect on how fully you’re operating as a sovereign being.
The more deeply you awaken, the less you’ll want or need to be controlled by other people or systems. Most major religions don’t encourage spiritual awakening because it makes people harder to control and exploit.
A president or ruler is also responsible for the welfare of others. If you’re in a position of power or influence, are you acting in a way that serves the highest good?

Harmonious communication and creative writing are energized by a Mercury-Venus conjunction (8°47′ Aries). With both planets in Aries, these activities have passionate support!

Sun Conjunct Saturn
You can be more mature, responsible, and productive as the Sun conjoins Saturn (22°5′ Pisces). This aspect can also help you make the best use of your time, or act as a wise elder.
Saturn’s placement in Pisces also empowers Law of Attraction manifestation. You can also abide more easily in embodied awakening.

Virgo Lunar Eclipse
A Total Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon) reddens the sky at 2:55 am EDT (23°56′ Virgo).
It will be fully visible throughout North America. It will be at least partially visible in South America and Europe, along with much of Asia, Australia, and Africa. For specific viewing times and locations, click here.
A Lunar Eclipse is also a Full Moon, so let’s start there. Any Virgo Full Moon is great for release or adjustment around health and attention to detail. Regarding service, are you helping others joyfully, and in a way that takes full advantage of your special gifts and talents?
The influence of regular New and Full Moons only last two weeks, but eclipse effects last at least six months. So you’ll have plenty of time to work with its upside opportunities!
Aspects
Cradle
This Lunar Eclipse’s aspects all come together to form a Cradle. This potent and harmonious aspect pattern adds lots of life-affirming potentials.
This Cradle is formed by eight planets and points. Let’s consider these separately before we interpret the complete aspect pattern.
The Lunar Nodes
Part of an eclipse’s power is determined by the distance between the luminaries and the Lunar Nodes. In this case, they’re about three and a half degrees apart. This is pretty tight, since the luminaries and the nodes can be up to eighteen and a half degrees apart during an eclipse.
The Moon conjoins the South Node. This lets you discover or develop abilities from past lives that can help you in this incarnation.
The South Node can also introduce unhealed trauma from past lives when appropriate. (Thousands have found my free Healing Invocation to be a quick and effective DIY method for clearing physical and emotional challenges.)
Introducing Saturn and Uranus
The Moon makes especially tight aspects to two slower planets: Saturn and Uranus. The Uranus trine is nearly exact, with an orb of 1/10 of a degree. The Saturn opposition has an orb of just over one and a half degrees. (“Orb” indicates the exactness of an aspect.)
Saturn Opposition
Many people fear Saturn. In fact, he rules fear! But he has plenty of upside potential, and is one of the most helpful planets in my own horoscope.
If you want to be mature and responsible, Saturn is your guy. He can also help you “plan the work and work the plan” and make the best use of your time. You can retreat into your private space as the Hermit, or step out to serve others as the Wise Elder.
With Saturn opposing the Moon, you may encounter obstacles or obstructions. If so, there’s some problem with the structure of the situation that needs your attention. What needs to be released or repaired? Saturn invites you to step into your wisdom and authority to help resolve the issue.
Saturn’s placement in Pisces invites you to use the Law of Attraction to manifest your desires. (Pisces rules visualization, while Saturn rules concrete manifestation.)
Saturn in Pisces is also great for embodied spiritual awakening. (Pisces rules spiritual awakening. Saturn wants this integrated into your daily life, which lets you enjoy maximum practical benefit from this euphoric state.)
Uranus Trine
The nearly exact Uranus-Moon trine can make it easy to receive this outer planet’s blessings.
How fully are you internally embracing your most authentic and idiosyncratic human self? You must accept what’s unique and different about yourself, even if you keep some of it private, to unlock your full creativity and vitality.
Uranus loves it when you “fly your freak flag.” How much of your uniqueness can you share with others? Some people can always fly their freak flag all the way up the pole. Others share their more divergent parts more selectively.
Uranus also rules intuitive hits. When people get one of these, they might say they have a “gut feeling,” “know something in their bones,” or have a “full-body yes.”
There’s complete certainty when you get an intuitive hit, even if you doubt it half a second later. This absolute knowing is a feeling, not a thought.
These intuitive hits come from your higher self. Based on conversations with hundreds of my clients, as well as my own experience, I’m confident that intuitive hits are a human’s most infallible guidance.
Uranus also loves it when you serve your “tribe.” As much as possible, do this using your special gifts and talents you most love to use!
Mars and Neptune
Mars, loosely sextile the Moon, adds “get up and go” to your Full Moon aspirations. He specifically supports anything you do as a warrior, pioneer, sexual being, or entrepreneur. With Mars in Cancer, you can assertively pursue goals that resonate in your heart.
Finally, a loose Neptune opposition can empower your spiritual awakening and inspired creativity. You can operate “in the zone” more easily, work more skillfully with your dreams, and develop deeper compassion and unconditional love.
The Cradle Interpretation
Now you know how to use the individual aspects of the Lunar Eclipse. But how can we combine all these factors into a single astrological message?
Any aspect pattern supports multiple interpretations. But here’s the one that seems most obvious to me.
Expertly serve others (Moon in Virgo) using the abilities that come most naturally to you (South Node). Follow your heart to initiate bold action (Mars in Cancer) as you serve, and follow your intuitive hits (Uranus) as you go.
Create a productive framework for your service, and confidently step out as a Wise Elder (Saturn). Do all this while consistently maintaining embodied awakening (Saturn in Pisces) and receiving a constant flow of divine energy and inspiration (Neptune).
Sabian Symbol
This Lunar Eclipse’s Sabian Symbol is “Mary and her white lamb.”
The symbolic meanings of a lamb include purity, peace, and harmony. In the nursery rhyme, the lamb follows Mary to school but is turned out by the teacher. But he “waited patiently ‘til Mary did appear.” Finally, “everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go.”
It seems to me that the lamb represents your higher self.
It shares the most important high-vibration qualities associated with the lamb. It’s always close by. And it patiently waits until you notice it, interact, and maybe even merge into oneness with it. Mary is a young girl, representing receptivity and innocence. Being open to wonder will help you more easily receive your higher self. And doing this will make your life more wonderful than you can imagine!

Mercury Retrograde
Mercury turns retrograde at 2:46 am EDT (9°35′ Aries). It will turn direct again in 23 days on 4/7 at 7:08 am (26°49′ Pisces).
Venus is also retrograde during this entire Mercury retrograde.
The Usual Advice
As always, Mercury retrograde is better for reflection than new action – although it’s a great time for repairs and completing what you’ve already started. If possible, delay major purchases and contract signings until Mercury is direct.
Travel and communication may be more challenging than usual, so double check your arrangements. Take care that you clearly understand what you’re being told and are being properly understood. And back up important data!
Signs
Mercury reverses course through the first ten degrees of Aries and the last three degrees of Pisces.
Mercury retrogrades in Aries through 3/29 at 10:17:56 pm EDT. This is a great time to reflect on how assertive you’re being with your communication. Should you put more energy into learning, writing, or teaching? And how are you doing in your roles as a warrior, entrepreneur, sexual being, or initiator?
Mercury spends the rest of its retrograde in Pisces, which it enters on 3/29 at 10:17:57 pm EDT. This can make it easier to receive a flow of spiritual information.
How are things going with your spiritual awakening and inspired creativity? How consistently are you operating “in the zone”? Are you working well with your dreams? How easily are you holding states of unconditional love and compassion?

A Cradle aspect pattern begins today, peaks on 4/8, and ends on 4/27. It includes Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and the Lunar Nodes.

The Sun enters Aries at 5:01 am EDT, marking the Spring Equinox.
With the Sun in Aries for the next month, you can take bolder action as a warrior, pioneer, sexual being, or entrepreneur. This is awesome “just do it” energy!

A Moon-Juno conjunction in Sagittarius can help you make joyful, heartfelt connections in your committed partnerships.
Six-Point Daisy Chain Conjunction
Six planets form a Daisy Chain Conjunction: Saturn, the North Node, Neptune, the Sun, Venus, and Mercury.
I interpret almost everything in this conjunction in my 3/29 Solar Eclipse forecast.
The only exception is Saturn, who can help you be more serious, focused and productive with this aspect’s potentials. In addition, Saturn’s conjunction with Neptune potently supports your Law of Attraction manifestations and your embodied awakening. The Sun and Venus conjoin today. Both planets also quintile Jupiter.
The Sun-Venus conjunction (2°39′ Aries) can energize your relationships, creativity, and finances. All this is further energized with both planets in fiery Aries. But, because Venus is retrograde, consider favoring reflection over action for now.
The Venus-Jupiter quintile and Sun-Jupiter quintile (both 2°40′ Aries-14°40′ Gemini) create a magical connection between these two personal planets and Jupiter’s expansive good fortune.
It also doesn’t hurt that two of the planets are ancient astrology’s Greater Benefic (Jupiter) and Lesser Benefic (Venus). If you’ve been waiting for a lucky day, this could be it!

Sun Conjunct Mercury
All your intellectual activity, whether you’re taking information in or putting it out, is lit up by a Sun-Mercury conjunction (4°24′ Aries). Put your pedal to the mental!
3/26 (Wed)
Juno-Focused Grand Sextile Peaks
Juno, the asteroid goddess of committed partnership, is the focal point of several potent aspect patterns through 5/7. Today (3/26), a Grand Sextile that features her makes its first peak.
This flowing yet potent aspect pattern, also called a “Star of David,” will peak again on 4/17 and continues thru 4/27. The other points are Mars, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and the Lunar Nodes.
This Grand Sextile invites you to bring special focus to your committed partnerships. It will be easier to accentuate the positive and take these important connections to the next level.

Aries Solar Eclipse
A partial Solar Eclipse will dim the Sun at 6:58 am EDT (9°0′ Aries).
Since it’s also an Aries New Moon, this lunation is great for any new beginning. New starts or fresh energy in your roles as a warrior, pioneer, sexual being, or entrepreneur get extra support.
You can benefit from this eclipse energy for at least six months.
This is a partial Solar Eclipse. It will be visible in the far northeastern US, as well as much of Europe, Northern Asia, far northwestern Africa, northeastern Canada, and a tiny sliver of South America. To learn more about its timing and visibility, click here.
Aspects
Uranus Semi-Square
This eclipse’s strongest aspect, with a tight orb (exactness) of less than one degree, is a 45° Uranus semi-square.
Uranus is also a major player in the 3/14 Lunar Eclipse, and his meanings remain the same.
Internally embrace what’s unique about you and share it with the world as appropriate. Follow your intuitive hits. And serve others using your special gifts and talents you most love to use!

Six-Point Conjunction!
The rest of this Solar Eclipse’s aspects are conjunctions to the luminaries. But the conjunctions are wide, with orbs ranging from 9-1/2 to 11-1/2 degrees.
The conjunction is astrology’s strongest aspect, but wide orbs diminish their power. This means that the following effects may not manifest strongly on their own. Be sure to actively cultivate the ones you want!
The four planets conjoining the luminaries are far from the Sun and Moon, but they’re tightly conjunct each other. The North Node, Venus, Neptune, and Mercury are clustered within about three degrees.
Mercury can help you learn, teach, write, and communicate. Its retrograde motion can help you reflect more deeply and speak more thoughtfully. Your mental capabilities are fired up by its placement in Aries.
Neptune supports your spiritual awakening and inspired creativity. You can more easily function in flow state, work with dreams, and be more unconditionally loving and compassionate.
Venus can support your relationships, creativity, and finances. Because she’s retrograde, you can more easily reflect on these matters.
Venus and Neptune tightly conjunct in Pisces is ideal for magical creativity. You can also perceive the divine essence of everything around you and blend more easily with your higher self.
Working as a team, Venus, Neptune, and Mercury potently support creative writing and harmonious, divinely inspired communication. Adding the North Node invites you to do all this in alignment with your life purpose.
Sabian Symbol
This Solar Eclipse’s Sabian symbol is, “A seer gazes intently into a crystal ball before him.”
You don’t have to outsource your seeing. Each of us has direct connection to intuitive wisdom. Even if you currently have little or no awareness of it, you can develop it.
(When I was younger, I had no awareness of my inner guidance, and didn’t even believe it existed! But I consistently pursued my healing and awakening. As a result, I now have a strong enough divine connection to receive personal guidance and assist others. )

Neptune Enters Aries
Neptune enters Aries today, starting a new 165-year journey through the zodiac.
He’ll dip back into Pisces on 10/22, then settle definitively into Aries on 1/26/26. He’ll stay continuously in the Sign of the Ram for over 12 more years, thru mid-2038.
Neptune in Aries has both low and high potentials. Here are five pairs of contrasting possibilities:
Low: A demoralizing sense of futility and pointlessness, coupled with weakness and lack of confidence, can lead to paralysis. This can result in feeling unprepared for life’s challenges. Unfocused or stalled willpower can lead to procrastination.
High: Embrace gentle and resilient strength as you cultivate a flexible approach to life. A soft ego and relaxed confidence can help you move effortlessly and smoothly. You can feel when being is better than doing. Trust your inner radar and sensitivity, following the path of least resistance to create change without arousing opposition.
Low: Misguided leaders or influencers can spread confusion. They may believe they have to blame others, wage holy wars, or hurt others to wake them up.
High: Foster synergy with others through compassionate action and enlightened non-action. Embrace the ideal of being in the world but not of it, acting without attachment to results. Serve the less fortunate humbly, energized by your passion and faith.
Low: Stealth and cunning can lead to backstabbing and treachery, with secret harmful actions and infiltration by hidden enemies. This can include subtle forms of aggression, including shamanic energy battles or dark magic.
High: Avoid the futility of war and conflict by transmuting aggression into peaceful actions. Consider imitating Gandhi’s tactic of neutralizing aggression through active pacifism and passive resistance.
Low: A feeling of guilt for having committed harmful actions in the past can lead to feelings of anguish, torment, or debilitation.
High: Call on the healing power of your own divinity. If your ego-based efforts don’t clear these challenging emotions, let your higher self or other divine allies do it for you. DIY techniques such as my free Healing Invocation can help.
Low: Fruitlessly pursuing spiritual awakening but never achieving it. This can feel like blindly groping through heavy fog, endlessly wandering with no clear sense of direction.
High: Pursue whole states of consciousness and dynamic ecstatic experiences. Stalk the absolute and enter the mystery. Paradoxically, as you sacrifice your ego to the Great Dissolver in the inner realms, your divinely transformed ego becomes a far more effective ally to help you carry out your earthly mission.
Continuing the paradox, you can simultaneously function as divine consciousness operating the human self, and as a seamless integration of human and divine.
