There’s a New Moon on 12/19 at 8:43 pm EST (28°24′ Sagittarius). This is great for new beginnings, especially in the many themes encompassed by astrology’s most expansive sign. And this lunation is juiced up by eight aspects!

This New Moon is loaded with powerful aspects. These include a Grand Stellium (five planets close together) and five additional aspects – including most of the slower planets!

Grand Stellium

The Sun and Moon conjoin Venus, Mars, and Juno. The three non-luminaries are close enough to the Sun and Moon to have a powerful impact.

Relationship Opportunities

The biggest opportunity is in your relationships.

Venus represents all important relationships. These could include spouse, lover, friend, family member, business associate, or open enemy. If a person’s absence would make your life noticeably different, for better or worse, Venus can represent them.

The asteroid goddess Juno has a narrower focus: committed partnerships. She’s also nearest the luminaries, so pay special attention to these especially important people.

Mars takes on the strongest relational meaning when he partners with Venus. That’s because these two planets represent the masculine and feminine principles. Even their placement reflects this: Mars and Venus bracket the Sun and Moon, and are about the same distance from the luminaries.

The expansive energy of Sagittarius can amplify whatever’s happening in your relationships. If things are great, they could get even better. Unresolved challenges could be catalyzed. This can also be a great time to make wonderful new connections!

Non-Relational Grand Stellium Potentials

Venus

Venus has two other foundational meanings beyond relationships. The first is creativity.

Creative possibilities are further amplified by two outer planet aspects to the Grand Stellium. Uranus can pop in sudden flashes of insight, while Neptune in Pisces can pour in a waterfall of divine inspiration.

All this makes this New Moon a fabulous time to get started on new artistic projects, or put fresh energy into existing ones!

Venus also represents money, so this New Moon could bring prosperous financial opportunities. But there’s a yellow flag: the Grand Stellium receives challenging aspects from Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, and Ceres. Be sure to exercise due diligence before making any significant financial commitments or investments.

Mars

Mars, the planet of new beginnings, adds additional kickstarter energy to this New Moon. He can also support your actions as a warrior, pioneer, sexual being, or entrepreneur.

Mars’ placement in Capricorn offers Energizer Bunny endurance. This can help you stay on track with your New Moon projects.

Other Aspects

Ceres, Saturn, and Neptune

Ceres, Saturn, and Neptune square the New Moon.

This can boost your Law of Attraction manifestation power. Neptune rules imagination, while Saturn can ground your mental imagery into physical reality. As a bonus, the harvest bounty of the grain goddess Ceres can increase your abundance!

Saturn and Neptune also support embodied awakening. Neptune represents spiritual awakening, which Saturn can help crystallize into your daily reality.

Chiron Trine

Chiron trines the New Moon, giving you flowing support to serve others as a healer or wisdom giver.

This New Moon’s final aspect is a nearly exact quincunx from Uranus. If you make the right adjustments, this aspect can help you:

Jupiter Square Chiron

Jupiter square Chiron, which strongly influences both 2025 and 2026, aligns on 12/21 at 5:08 am EST (22°40′ Cancer-Aries).

This triple hit aspect previously occurred on 10/23 (24°34′ Cancer-Aries), and will happen again on 7/1/26. Its orb (influence) lasts nearly a year, 8/26/25 through 8/18/26.

These planets share some similar meanings. Chiron is the mentor, while Jupiter is the professor, philosopher, or guru.

So both planets support you in giving or receiving wisdom. (Jupiter is especially keen on insights from other cultures.) This is a wonderful time to expand your knowledge where it counts, or share your insights with others!

Chiron is the wounded healer. His expansion by Jupiter can trigger your unhealed traumas. But you also have expanded energy available to heal your emotional wounds. This is a great time to get wisdom or healing support from others, or step out as a healer or wisdom giver yourself.

Finally, Jupiter’s placement in Cancer amplifies your opportunities for emotional healing.

Winter Solstice Chart

The Sun enters Capricorn on 12/21 at 10:03 am EST, marking the Winter Solstice. Like all seasonal charts, it gives a sense of the astrological energy for the coming three months.

Interpreting this chart is made much easier because this solstice occurs less than 48 hours after the Sagittarius New Moon. As a result, everything I said about the Sagittarius New Moon – except the discussion of Sagittarian energies – also applies to the solstice. We just saved a lot of time!

But, before we get into the interpretation of the Winter Solstice chart, let’s talk about the Sun entering Capricorn.

This placement makes it easier for you to be more mature and responsible. You can “plan the work and work the plan” and use time well. You can take hermit time when needed. And, if you’re ready, you can serve others as the wise elder.

Shared with the New Moon

All of the following, in my New Moon interpretation, also applies to the Winter Solstice chart:

• The Grand Stellium, including its relational and non-relational meanings. The fact that the Moon is no longer part of it doesn’t change its interpretation.
• The Sun has obviously moved into Capricorn, but this also doesn’t change the Stellium’s interpretation. However, the Sun and Moon in Capricorn does make it easier to embody the positive qualities of the 10th astrological archetype.
• Everything I said about the Ceres, Saturn, and Neptune squares, the Chiron trine, and the Uranus quincunx.

Beyond the New Moon similarities, the Jupiter-Chiron square I interpreted above lines up just five hours before the Winter Solstice! It’s nearly exact in the solstice chart, and is one of its most important factors.

5-Planet T-Square

The Jupiter-Chiron square is also part of a five-planet T-Square that includes the Moon, Vesta, Jupiter, Chiron, and Eris. Some of its potentials include:

• Empowering your selfless support for a worthy cause. Your contribution might involve sharing your wisdom or bringing healing to the organization.
• Acting as a disruptive change agent, stirring things up to highlight a situation that needs positive change.
• Challenging experiences that stir up old trauma. The upside opportunity here is that old trauma, successfully healed, automatically gives you a deeper spiritual awakening! Mercury-Lunar Nodes T-Square

The Winter Solstice’s other T-Square is more straightforward: Mercury square the lunar nodes.

Mercury is in Sagittarius, inviting you to adventurously expand your thinking. This placement also supports advanced learning or sharing your wisdom with others.

Mercury’s tight squares to the lunar nodes invite you to focus your thoughts on your life purpose. With the North Node in Pisces, stay open to intuitive downloads and creative inspiration.

Finally, Mercury doesn’t aspect any other planets. With no limiting connections, you’re free to think in ways you’ve never thought before!

Jupiter Trine Saturn and Neptune

Jupiter is trine Saturn and Neptune. This amplifies the Law of Attraction and embodied awakening potentials discussed in my New Moon forecast.

Neptune and Saturn also harmoniously support Jupiter’s natural expressions. Since Jupiter and Sagittarius have the same meanings, check the Sagittarian meanings in my New Moon forecast to learn about these potentials.

Saturn sextile Uranus

The 15-month influence of this Saturn-Uranus sextile started on 1/11/25 and lasts through 4/16/26.

Responsible and balanced freedom can be created through careful and cautious change. This might involve incremental openings and awakenings.

Methodically facing problems and finding solutions can demonstrate the liberating benefits of structure and routine. When an intuitive hit calls you to action, get to work on it!

Death or destruction in one place can lead to rebirth elsewhere, reflected in the breakdown of outworn structures.

Saturn Conjunct Neptune

As noted in my New Moon interpretation, a Saturn-Neptune conjunction potently empowers embodied awakening and Law of Attraction manifestation. It’s also good for conscious dissolution.

Uranus Sextile Neptune

Uranus Trine Pluto

Here are two positive potentials of this powerful aspect:

The titanic quest for human freedom and individuation, combined with the monumental assertion of human reason and willpower, drives impulses toward reform and renewal. This quest fuels progress and transformation through the forces of evolution and revolution, unleashing power and intensifying rebellious urges.

Driving feelings of higher purpose and direction create a sense of human history being drawn toward a transcendent evolutionary goal. You feel inspired to play your part in this epic undertaking to serve the highest good of all.

A T-Square with Vesta, Jupiter, Chiron, and Eris started on 12/11, peaks on 12/24, and ends on 1/11. I explain it here as part of my Winter Solstice chart interpretation. (The Moon is part of the Winter Solstice T-Square, but its absence here doesn’t change this T-Square’s interpretation.)

Fast Mover Aspects: Venus, Juno, Sun, and Mercury

Who’s Doing the Slower Planet Circuit Now?

Most of the slower planets will be clustered near the same degree numbers, though mostly in different signs, through April. These include Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, although Jupiter will remain with them through mid-January.

As a result, “fast movers” – the personal planets and asteroid goddesses – will aspect all these slower planets in short order. They’ll do this each time they move through a new sign.

The Sun will do this like clockwork every month. Mercury and Venus will make these connections every month on average, but will occasionally go off schedule when retrograde.

Mars will connect every two months on average, but will also occasionally deviate when retrograde. Finally, the four asteroid goddesses will aspect the outer planets about every four to five months.

Jupiter and Saturn will eventually leave the slower planet pack. But Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto will stay close to the same degree numbers through mid-2028. So this slower planet circuit effect will be with us for quite a while!

Because of this situation, I now interpret each fast mover’s aspects to the slower planets in one integrated interpretation. A series of standalone interpretations of a fast mover to each slower planet would be maddeningly repetitive, and would overlook the fact that all the slower planets simultaneously influence the fast mover.

So, which fast movers are on the circuit now?

Venus

Venus makes her outer planet rounds 12/18 through 12/26. This expands your opportunities in the areas of relationship, creativity, finance, and aesthetic appreciation. Venus is in expansive Sagittarius during most of these aspects, so think big!

Venus makes mostly hard aspects to the slow guys, so you may experience some challenges. But you can call on Venus’ natural creativity for great solutions to any problems that come up.

Juno

Juno, the asteroid goddess of committed partnership, energizes opportunities in her more specific field of relationships now through 1/6.

Like Venus, Juno is in Sagittarius for most of her aspects, which are also mostly challenging. But if a committed partnership is important, it’s worth whatever personal and relational work is needed to keep it on track. Call on Sagittarius’ fiery, enthusiastic vitality to fuel your efforts!
