You can break through to greater joy and revolutionize your beliefs with our headlining Jupiter-Uranus square. Mercury turning direct, Mars turning retrograde, a Pluto-Chiron sextile and a Pisces New Moon are also featured in this strikingly powerful astrological week!
Relationships, creativity and finances receive some welcome stability as Venus sextiles Saturn. With Venus in Capricorn, getting productive in these areas or applying them to business is smoothly energized.
Healing and mentoring are significantly empowered as Piscean Chiron sextiles Pluto. If you experience emotional or psychological wounding, this healing invocation may help.
You have plenty of time to work with these energies: this Chiron-Pluto sextile started heating up in the spring of 2010, and will recur through early 2017. The current sextile in the series came into orb in January 2012, and stays energized through mid-June.
One of the year’s most powerful aspects, a Jupiter-Uranus square, is exact today. You’ll be feeling this aspect through mid-June, so you have almost four months to benefit from its high side potential!
Are you ready for a new direction in your religious or philosophical pursuits? Would it be good to shake things up by doing some foreign travel or exposing yourself to other ways of living? Are you ready to break through into more joy, celebration and enthusiasm? If any of these feel like an itch that needs scratching, then it’s a great time to act!
The prior paragraph was based on Uranus influencing Jupiter. But if we think of Jupiter influencing Uranus, we get an increased influx of intuitive flashes, a greater drive toward uninhibited individual expression, and an expansion of humanitarian action.
With Jupiter in Cancer, it can be a good time to revolutionize family relations, how you view security and how you work with your emotions.
This is the second occurrence of this Jupiter-Uranus square. The first one was mid-August of 2013, and the third square will be on 4/20. We’ve been feeling its effects strongly since the beginning of 2014.
This interpretation is only part of the story! For a broader perspective, read about the five-month Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square that this Jupiter-Uranus square is part of.
Ceres turns retrograde today, and turns direct again on 6/1. Until then, reflection on abundance, maternal matters, mother-daughter issues and the theme of release and return is supported.
Mercury, retrograde since 2/6, turns direct today at 9 AM (18°09′ Aquarius). It’s now almost a good time to move forward with those major purchases and new projects you’ve been delaying during Mercury retrograde. But please wait until after tomorrow’s New Moon, since new beginnings are better supported by waxing lunar energy.
Did you reflect on Piscean and Aquarian themes as Mercury backpedaled through those signs? (I suggested this, and elaborated on those themes, in my 2/6 Mercury Retrograde forecast.) If so, it’s a good time to start acting on the insights you gained. (Again, after tomorrow’s New Moon if possible.)
Religious practices that support merging with the divine are smoothly supported by the Piscean Sun trine Jupiter. So is creative inspiration and flowing light and love to others. On a more down-to-earth level, you can simply enjoy enhanced vitality!

March opens with a New Moon at 3 AM (10°39′ Pisces). Any Pisces New Moon is ideal for new beginnings in spiritual union practices, divinely inspired creativity, and flowing love and light to others.
This lunation’s strongest aspect is a tight conjunction to Chiron, which supports mentoring and healing. A medium-strength conjunction to Neptune reinforces the Piscean themes already mentioned.
A tight Jupiter trine makes expansion, hope, optimism and joy easily available. Finally, a very tight Uranus semi-sextile and moderately strong Pluto sextile bring in the energy of revolutionary transformation to support your new directions.
The Sabian Symbol for this lunation is, “Men traveling a narrow path, seeking illumination.” As I interpret this obviously spiritual message, “men” refers not to gender but to the masculine principle of forging ahead and initiating action. “Men” being plural reminds us that our quest is best done with the support of other seekers.
“Narrow path” reminds us to focus in on those modalities that are giving us the best results, rather than grazing indiscriminately at the ever-diversifying spiritual smorgasbord. Are you more likely to strike water by digging one 60-foot well, or 10 wells six feet deep?
“Illumination,” of course, is a common term for spiritual awakening. This meaning gives this Sabian Symbol much more resonance than to think of these men questing for a compact florescent light bulb!
Mars begins a retrograde lasting over two and a half months on 3/1. Until he goes direct again on 5/19, you can productively reflect on how you’re using assertiveness, sexuality and aggression. How effective are you being as a leader, warrior or pioneer?
Mars’ retrograde takes place entirely within Libra. So fresh insights are available as you contemplate how your use of these Martian themes is affecting your life’s relationships, creative expression, harmony and balance.
Vesta is the second asteroid goddess to go retrograde this week. Until she goes direct on 5/27, you can ruminate on how actively you’re serving a higher calling beyond your own selfish desires. Sacred sexuality also falls within Vesta’s domain.
This week’s fourth retrograde (and fifth planetary change of direction!) arrives as Saturn turns backwards. Until 7/20, reflection on productivity, maturity, responsibility, time management and effective planning and implementation is supported.
How much relationship conflict can you deliberately avoid as Venus squares Mars? Won’t finding that out be more enjoyable than fighting with those close to you? Use this energy productively by injecting fresh positive energy into your relationships, making love, and diving into creative projects.
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during void-of-course Moons. “Business as usual” is the optimal strategy. Void-of-course Moons occur when the Moon has made her last major Ptolemaic aspect, but has not yet moved into her next sign.
