Selfless service is a significant astrological theme during the first half of February, energized by two Yods and a Double Yod Key! Service to the collective is also in the mix as the multi-year Uranus-Pluto square gets its energy of revolutionary transformation fired up by Vesta and Venus. An Aquarius New Moon also supports this humanitarian theme.
We also have lots of Mars aspects to outer planets, and the initiation of a 45-day T-square that can catalyze some serious healing for us all!
Speaking of which, I’m posting this forecast late because I’ve been involved in some serious spiritual healing of my own, which unexpectedly impinged on my forecast-writing time. I apologize for my tardiness, and am grateful to all those who reached out to make sure I was okay. After weathering some intense shamanic experiences, and the physical detox that followed, I’m now feeling better and more conscious than ever! :-)

2/1 (Mon)
Vesta-Uranus-Pluto Square
The signature astrological event of the decade, the waning Uranus-Pluto square, gets its theme of revolutionary transformation stimulated two different ways during the first half of February.
The asteroid goddess Vesta is first in line. There’s a Pluto-Vesta square today (2/1) (16°6′ Capricorn-Aries) and a Uranus-Vesta conjunction on 2/4 (17°14′ Aries)
Vesta’s primary meaning is selfless service to a higher cause. This is a great time to throw your support behind a worthy cause working for positive change. The procedures or governance of the causes themselves might also be ripe for transformation.
Vesta and Pluto share a common archetypal meaning: sacred sexuality. So this is a great time to explore a deeper level of intimate connection. Blending with your partner’s energy body takes erotic pleasure into an entirely new dimension!
2/2 (Tue)
No major astrology events.
2/3 (Wed)
The theme of sacred sexuality receives additional support with Mars sextile Pluto (16°10′ Scorpio-Capricorn). This aspect can also support a deep dive into occult practices, investigation or psychology. Other archetypal possibilities include new beginnings and fighting for a worthy cause.
You can do a lot of productive thinking around healing and mentoring with Mercury sextile Chiron (18°53′ Capricorn-Pisces). Business mentoring receives special support.
There’s a solid foundation for “flying your freak flag,” receiving intuitive flashes and building community with the Sun sextile Saturn (14° 20′ Aquarius-Sagittarius).
2/4 (Thu)
The Uranus-Vesta conjunction discussed on 2/1 is exact today.
2/5 (Fri)
Venus-Uranus-Pluto Square
The Uranus-Pluto square receives its second stimulation in February with a Venus-Pluto conjunction (16°15′ Capricorn) today (2/5) and a Venus-Uranus square on 2/6 (17°19′ Capricorn-Aries). This is a great time to address relationship issues, since they’re likely to get triggered by these aspects.
These aspects also support original, uninhibited creative expression. Financial breakthroughs are possible, but remember the dangers of risking more than you can afford to lose!
There’s some extra volatility in the air with Mars quincunx Uranus (17°17′ Scorpio-Aries). Avoid unstable people and situations as much as possible. Redirect this energy away from its more violent possibilities by taking immediate action on your intuitive flashes.
2/6 (Sat)
It can be easier to show the world your authentic self with the Aquarian Sun sextile Uranus (17°19′ Aquarius-Aries). This aspect also supports acting on your gut feelings, as well as serving the collective with your special talents.
You can enjoy sharper mental acuity with Mercury trine Jupiter (21°52′ Capricorn-Virgo). Insights into practical and business matters receive special support.
The Venus-Uranus square discussed on 2/5 is exact today.
2/7 (Sun)
Mars receives two aspects today: a Sun-Mars square (18°8′ Aquarius-Scorpio) and a Venus-Mars sextile (18°11′ Capricorn Scorpio). While the square can trigger conflict, it can also serve as fuel for the proud expression of your unique qualities. This sextile is great for romance, business relationships and productivity in your creative work.
2/8 (Mon)
Aquarius New Moon
February’s New Moon occurs at 9:39 AM EST (19°15′ Aquarius). Any Aquarius New Moon is great for a new start or revitalization of you embodying your unique personality and self-expression. How well are you receiving and following your intuitive flashes? And how well are you serving your “tribe” by doing the things that you do particularly well and with abundant joy?
Aspects
A tight square from Scorpionic Mars adds plenty of punch to this New Moon to help fuel your new Aquarian initiatives. To prevent this square from also catalyzing anger and impatience, focus on high-side Mars activities such as athletics, taking definitive action and appropriate sexuality.
An almost exact semi-sextile from Chiron to the New Moon could trigger wounding on some level, but also offers opportunities for mentoring and healing. A sextile from Vesta opens the door to selfless service and divinely infused loveplay. Finally, a sextile from Uranus simply reemphasizes all the Aquarian themes already described.
Sabian Symbol
This New Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “A large white dove bearing a message.” The white dove is a well-known symbol of peace. If it’s large, then the message must be the potential for lots of peace! In the context of Aquarius, which represents both diversity and community, this symbol asks us to coexist harmoniously even with those whose ways are radically different from ours.
While you can make some headway in this direction with good intentions, the shortcut to truly embodying unconditional love is through spiritual awakening. Fortunately, this is much easier than it used to be now that simple, effective tools like my free Heal and Awaken Invocations are available. Use whatever technique lets you hold your awakened state of universal love most easily and reliably!
2 Yods & a Double Yod Key!
One of astrology’s most colorfully nicknamed aspect patterns is the Yod – “the finger of God.” This narrow triangle is formed by two 150° quincunxes and a 60° sextile. We have 2 Yods starting today. And – just to make it even more interesting – they weave together to form a four-planet Double Yod Key!
Let’s break all this down one step at a time to keep it manageable. Since all but one of these planets are also involved in the New Moon’s aspects, there will be many repeating themes from that interpretation.
Yod: Sun-Vesta-Jupiter
One of the Yods has the Aquarian Sun and Arean Vesta on the back end, and points to Virgoan Jupiter at the tip. Both Aquarius and Vesta support contributing to the good of the whole, and Jupiter’s placement in Virgo supports the expansion of service.
These planets also suggest that your helpfulness should feel good! A healthy Sun radiates vitality, and Jupiter is associated with joy and celebration.
Yod: Mars-Vesta-Jupiter
The other Yod has Scorpionic Mars and Virgoan Jupiter on the back end, pointing to Arean Vesta. At the simplest level, this suggests directing lots of energy toward selfless service. These archetypal energies can also be creatively combined to support healing through sacred sexuality.
Double Yod Key: Sun-Mars-Vesta-Jupiter
Combining the Yods into the Double Yod Key simply merges these two interpretations. The common theme is clearly service to a higher cause, given in a way that makes you feel great. The themes of sacred sex and sexual healing are certainly juicy if you resonate with them, but are not required to take advantage of these aspect patterns.
- The Sun-Vesta-Jupiter Yod begins today, peaks on 2/11 and ends on 2/13. These dates also apply to the Sun-Mars-Vesta-Jupiter Double Yod Key.
- The Mars-Vesta-Jupiter Yod begins today, peaks on 2/13 and ends on 2/20.
Connecting with others to give or receive mentoring – especially in practical and business matters – is smoothly energized by a Venus-Chiron sextile (19°9′ Capricorn-Pisces).
2/9 (Tue)
You can accomplish some serious emotional healing with Scorpionic Mars trine Chiron (19°14′ Scorpio-Pisces). Trines allow planets to merge their energies easily, but you’ll need to “mine the trine” — add your personal effort — to maximize its possibilities. This aspect also supports sexual healing and mentoring in the ways of the therapist or the warrior.
2/10 (Wed)
Jupiter is involved in two aspects today. A Venus-Jupiter trine (21°32′ Capricorn-Virgo) can help you open to the free flow of love and creativity. With Venus in Capricorn, you can also direct this energy to support your financial abundance.
Today’s second Jupiter aspect is a Sun-Jupiter quincunx (21°29′ Aquarius-Virgo). What adjustments would help you more fully embrace the Aquarian themes we’ve discussed so often in this forecast: unabashed individual expression, openness to your intuitive flashes and joyful service to the collective?
2/11 (Thu)
Yod & Double Yod Key Peak
Today marks the peak of two of the aspect patterns discussed on 2/8: the Sun-Vesta-Jupiter Yod and the Sun-Mars-Vesta-Jupiter Double Yod Key.
2/12 (Fri)
No major astrology events.
2/13 (Sat)
Yod Peaks: Mars-Vesta-Jupiter
The Mars-Vesta-Jupiter Yod that began on 2/8 peaks today and ends on 2/20.
Mercury transits Aquarius today (2/13) through 3/5. This placement can help you think more creatively and open more fully to your intuitive flashes. Based on my experience, as well as feedback from hundreds of my astrology clients, you can count on these “text messages from God” to be more reliable than your mental overrides!
For starters, a Mars-Jupiter sextile (21°10′ Scorpio-Virgo) is a wonderful general energizer for whatever you want to do. More specifically, it supports fighting for a worthy cause, occult practices, and sacred sexuality. You can also add psychological shadow work, athletics and leadership to the list of supported activities.
2/14 (Sun)
T-square: Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron
One of 2016’s most important aspect patterns begins on 2/14: a Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron T-square. It will last about a month and a half, peaking on 3/25 and ending on 4/1.
Even though it begins on Valentine’s Day, there’s nothing romantic about this T-square. But if you’re willing to work through the childhood wounds, shadow material and past life karma it stirs up, it can help you become a more psychologically whole being who can relate more harmoniously with others.
The Individual Planets
The most distinctive planet in this T-square is Chiron. It catalyzes wounding to show us where we need to heal. It also supports us in our growth as healers, mentors and awakeners.
Jupiter and Saturn, the other members of the T-square, are considered astrology’s “social planets.” This is the middle tier between the personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars) and the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). The social planets, as the name implies, shape how we relate with the society around us.
Dealing With the Shadow
At the most basic level, this Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron T-square shows that the whole world will be facing its shadow material, individually and collectively, during March and the second half of February. When dealing with shadow material, most people tend to repress it, numb out or project it onto others. But I believe we really only have two choices: have it harrass us endlessly throughout our lives, or heal it once and for all.
You may find my Healing Invocation to be helpful when you’re ready to “feel it and heal it.” I’m also a big fan of shamanic ceremonies and holotropic-style breathwork.
Mentally-based approaches can offer some help, but I’ve found that the deepest and most lasting healing comes when you re-experience the original traumatic emotions in a safe container. The modalities in the previous paragraph offer this, as do many others.
So if you get some challenging emotions stirred up under this Jupiter-Saturn-Chiron T-square, embrace it as an opportunity. The more you clear or transmute all that heavy energy, the more easily you’ll hold a more blissful awakened consciousness. In my experience, it’s 100% worth the effort!

Void-of-Course Moons
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during void-of-course Moons. “Business as usual” is the optimal strategy. Void-of-course Moons occur when the Moon has made her last major Ptolemaic aspect, but has not yet moved into her next sign.

Whatever your Sun Sign, Benjamin’s forecasts can help you make the best use of the current astrological energies.
All dates and times are in the U.S. eastern time zone. Events are most powerful on the dates listed, but their influence will be active for at least several days before and after.
Everyone is affected by these global transits. However, you will be most powerfully impacted when moving planets activate sensitive points in your natal chart.
