Learning and communication is a persistent theme during the first half of June, thanks to numerous aspects to the Sun, Mercury and Mars in Gemini. Other “skylights” include Mercury turning direct, Saturn retrograding into Scorpio and a Sagittarius Full Moon!

Be especially conscious of how you’re using power, sexuality and aggressiveness with Mars quincunx Pluto (15°2′ Gemini-Capricorn). Make all necessary adjustments so that your actions in these areas serve the highest good of all concerned. With Mars in Gemini, learning and communication receive a special boost.
Sagittarius Full Moon
A Full Moon shines forth at 12:19 PM US Eastern time (11°49′ Sagittarius). How “full-filled” are you in the areas of adventurousness, philosophy and religion? What releases or adjustments would be helpful in these areas, as well as in the areas of foreign travel and integrating concepts from foreign cultures?
There’s something unusual about this Full Moon’s aspects: they form two distinct aspect patterns. Rather than taking the aspects one at a time, we’ll consider them in the context of these larger configurations.
With Neptune squaring four personal planets — the Moon, the Sun, Mercury and Mars – be careful not to get caught up in Neptune’s more challenging possibilities. Substance abuse tops the list, with excessive escapism right behind it. Escapist examples include overindulging in TV, food, sex, games or anything else to the point where it interferes with your responsibilities. These Neptune squares can also encourage playing the victim in relationships, or drifting aimlessly in a Sargasso Sea of ennui.
These negative possibilities can be avoided by focusing on Neptune’s high side expressions. These include cultivating a deeper connection with your own divine consciousness and expressing your creative inspirations into the world.
These Neptune squares can also significantly increase your energetic sensitivity to the people and environments around you. Don’t be surprised if you feel other people’s emotions more vividly, or have a general sense of merging with everything around you. Neptune tends to dissolve boundaries, helping us experience the unity that underlies the illusion of separation in the physical world. One way to think about the physical universe is that it’s just God entertaining itself by pretending to be separate people and things!
This T-square also features a Sun-Mercury-Mars triple conjunction in Gemini. This energizes projects that involve learning, writing or communication.
Mystic Rectangle: Moon-Sun-Mars-Ceres-Jupiter
This Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol is quite the shape-shifter: “A flag turns into an eagle; the eagle into a chanticleer saluting the dawn.” This picks up on the Neptunian idea just discussed: that the oneness at the root of all things can adopt whatever form it desires. There’s also a strong tone of optimism in this symbol, from the eagle (a proud symbol of the USA) to the chanticleer (a rooster) heralding a new day full of fresh possibilities.
There are many women who have not yet stepped fully into their feminine assertiveness. This issue may get triggered under the Mars-Pallas Athena-Chiron T-square that begins today, peaks on 6/11 and ends on 6/19. This can be a great time to step more fully into the power of the asteroid goddess who can kick butt and take names!
Ceres is retrograde today through 9/14, backpedaling from 9°12′ Aquarius to 25°6′ Capricorn. This is a good time to reflect on the themes of abundance, release and return, and mother-daughter relationships.

Venus transits Leo today through 7/18. This a great energy for sharing your creativity with the public, relating with others in a fun and dramatic way, and making money by taking center stage.
It may take some adjustment, but personal transformation is available under a Sun-Pluto quincunx (14°58′ Gemini-Capricorn). With the Sun in Gemini, learning and communication is also energized.
Some serious get-up-and-go energy is available with Mars sextile Jupiter (17°20′ Gemini-Leo). Jupiter amplifies Mars’ core meanings of assertiveness, initiation, drive and sexuality. Mars also energizes Jupiter’s love of religion, philosophy, exploring the meaning of life and foreign travel. With Mars in Gemini, learning and communication is amped up.
Relationships, creativity and finance can enjoy a more stable foundation with Venus trine Saturn (0°35′ Leo-Sagittarius). If you do creative things for a living, this aspect can provide an easy flow of support.
Original thinking, creative writing and other forms of mental inspiration are juiced up under a Mercury-Jupiter quintile (5°28′-17°28′ Gemini-Leo).
Vesta transits Aries today through 10/25. Bring the spirit of the warrior and the pioneer into your sacred service!

Enjoy the expansion of your vitality as the Sun sextiles Jupiter (17°47′ Gemini-Leo). With the Sun in Gemini, we once again have the opportunity to amp up learning and communication!
A Mars-Uranus sextile (19°37′ Gemini-Aries) is a perfect opportunity to practice taking immediate action on your intuitive flashes. How can you distinguish a true intuitive flash from an egoic impulse? The feeling of absolute certainty that marks the intuitive flash’s arrival. Many people also experience electrical phenomena – goosebumps, tingles or shivers up the spine – the moment an intuitive flash hits.
Mental creativity and creative writing receive another strong, flowing stimulus as Mercury sextiles Venus (4°38′ Gemini-Leo).
Are you being true to the authentic soul purpose you signed up for when you chose to incarnate? If not, this Sun-Uranus sextile (19°41′ Gemini-Aries) is a great opportunity to make a course correction! And – big surprise – it also supports learning and communication.
The Mercury retrograde that started on 5/18 ends today at 6:33 PM (4°33′ Gemini). But even with Mercury direct, the timing is not yet optimal to begin major new projects. New ventures fare better when initiated under a waxing moon, so wait at least until the New Moon on 6/16 if you can.
Unresolved psychological material – childhood wounds, past life karma and shadow material – can be triggered by a Mars-Chiron square (21°29′ Gemini-Pisces). Experiential healing modalities that allow you to relive the trauma in a safe container, such as breathwork and shamanic ceremony, can be very helpful to clear these dense energies. You may also find my healing invocation helpful.
To repeat what I wrote on 6/2: There are many women who have not yet stepped fully into their feminine assertiveness. This issue may get triggered under the Mars-Pallas Athena-Chiron T-square that began on 6/2, peaks today and ends on 6/19. This can be a great time to step more fully into the power of the asteroid goddess who can kick butt and take names!
Neptune is retrograde today through 11/18. This is a great time to reflect on how you’re dancing with all of Neptune’s expressions: spiritual union, inspired creativity, substance abuse, escapism, martyrdom and aimlessness. The more you focus on Neptune’s life-affirming expressions, the less energy he’ll have left over to bother you with his more challenging experiences!
A Sun-Chiron square can trigger your old wounds or help you step more powerfully into your own gifts as a healer and mentor. With the Sun in Gemini, that’s worth thinking about!

A Sun-Mars conjunction at 23°17′ Gemini energizes assertiveness, sexuality and fighting the good fight. It also puts fresh energy into our current theme of expanded learning and communication.
Saturn retrogrades from Sagittarius back into Scorpio today, where it will remain until returning into Sagittarius on 9/17. Saturn’s three-month encore visit into the Sign of the Phoenix rekindles the theme it started working in the fall of 2012: the transformation or destruction of structures that have outlived their usefulness, and the arising of new structures whose time has come.
Pallas Athena represents feminine assertiveness, strategic planning and practical creativity. Under a Uranus-Pallas trine (19°49′ Aries-Sagittarius), intuitive flashes can give you fresh inspiration in all of these areas.
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during void-of-course Moons. “Business as usual” is the optimal strategy. Void-of-course Moons occur when the Moon has made her last major Ptolemaic aspect, but has not yet moved into her next sign.

All dates and times are in the U.S. eastern time zone. Events are most powerful on the dates listed, but their influence will be active for at least several days before and after.
Everyone is affected by these global transits. However, you will be most powerfully impacted when moving planets activate sensitive points in your natal chart.
