A magical Jupiter-Uranus quintile could surprise you with unexpected opportunities in the first half of July. We also have Mars and Venus firing up the Saturn-Uranus square, a Cancer New Moon aspecting all the outer planets, Chiron turning retrograde, and more!

7/1 (Thu)

“The obstacle is the way.” Keep this bit of Stoic wisdom in mind if you encounter resistance as Mars opposes Saturn (12°20′ Leo-Aquarius). This aspect can sometimes make it feel as if you’re driving with the brakes on. But you can persevere if you meet resistance with persistence!

This aspect can make persistence easier, since Mars-Saturn aspects can bless you with remarkable endurance. They also support reliable leadership, determined entrepreneurship, and sexual stamina. With Mars in Leo, you can bring maturity, planning, and skillful implementation to your work as a leader or entertainer.

This Mars-Saturn opposition is part of the Mars-Saturn-Uranus T-square that peaks tomorrow.

7/2 (Fri)

Mars (And Venus) Fire Up Saturn-Uranus Square

The Saturn-Uranus square is the most important aspect of 2021. And we feel it most intensely when these two planets receive a hard aspect from Mars.

This extra stimulation started on 6/16, as Mars opposed Saturn and squared Uranus. This Mars-Saturn-Uranus T-square peaks today (7/2) and ends on 7/15. As part of this T-square, Mars opposes Saturn on 7/1, and Mars squares Uranus on 7/3.

But that’s not all! Venus, conjunct Mars, joined the T-square on 6/30 and stays until it ends. This adds more power to the Saturn-Uranus square.

It also makes it more likely that challenge could arise in relationships. If so, a proven resource for working through relationship issues is Nonviolent Communication by Marshall Rosenberg. This Venus-Mars-Saturn-Uranus T-square can also give a big boost to your artistic creativity!

7/3 (Sat)

Jupiter Quintile Uranus

Quintiles make magic. This 72° aspect (⅕ of the circle) is associated with divine inspiration, mystical experience and fairy dust. (We might as well throw in unicorns and rainbows while we’re at it.) When it connects two planets with such positive potential, the upside can be amazing!

We can feel this Jupiter-Uranus quintile (1°54′ Pisces-13°54′ Taurus) 3/30 thru 8/8. (That’s when it’s “in orb”, or close enough to connect.) It’s in orb again 12/3 thru 1/12/22. This aspect is exact 3 times: 5/5, today (7/3) & 12/24.

Since Uranus carries the same archetypal energy as Aquarius, we can enjoy these same delightful effects when Jupiter is in Aquarius. Jupiter finished a 6-month passage through Aquarius on 5/13, then revisits the Lightning Sign 7/28 thru 12/28.

Double Yod Key Calls for Adjustments

A Double Yod Key (DYK) — 2 interlinked Yods — began on 6/28, peaks today (7/3) and ends on 7/7. It includes the Sun, Juno, Saturn, Uranus and the South Node.

Above all, this DYK calls for appropriate adjustments in your committed partnerships. There’s a good chance that it will stir up some old emotional wounds, so have a good shadow work technique ready. As you contemplate a committed partnership that’s experiencing challenge, first consider what’s worthy of continuing. Is that aspect of the relationship fine as it is, or is it time to make an adjustment? Big, even radical change is supported by this aspect pattern, even if it means ending the relationship. A volatile Mars-Uranus square (13°54′ Leo-Taurus) can help you take quick action on your intuitive hits. But it could blow up in your face if you aren’t careful!

A Thor’s Hammer highlighting selfless service begins today (7/4), peaks on 7/14 and ends on 7/21. Vesta is at the focal point, with the Saturn-Uranus square on the back end.

If anything about service to a higher cause that you’re involved in needs change, this is a great time to make any needed structural shifts. If you’re already in the groove, this Thor’s Hammer can help you take things to the next level in a mature and disciplined way.

7/9 (Fri)

Cancer New Moon

A New Moon lines up at 9:17 pm EDT (18°1′ Cancer). Any Cancer New Moon is great for new beginnings in the areas of home, family, security, emotions and shadow work.

Aspects

The shadow work theme is emphasized because the luminaries oppose Pluto and square Chiron. Pluto is lord of the underworld, where all the unhealed painful emotions are buried. And Chiron is the wounded healer.

Hard aspects like these tend to be uncomfortable, and could catalyze some challenging emotions. It’s a great time to focus on any important relationship as Venus conjoins Mars (19°48′ Leo). If you’re noticing challenges, it’s a great time to work on them. If things are going well, make time to enjoy each other! With Venus and Mars conjunct in Leo, this aspect can also boost your abilities as a leader, artist or entertainer.

7/14 (Wed)

“Finger of God” Points to Opportunities

A “Finger of God” (Yod), with Leonine Mars at the tip and a Neptune-Pluto sextile on the back end, offers a wide range of opportunities if you make the right adjustment. Mars can help you be a better leader, warrior, pioneer or sexual being. Placed in Leo, he can help you be more assertive as the “monarch on the throne” or the “performer in the spotlight”.

Neptune can support all this with enhanced divine consciousness and creative inspiration. Finally, Pluto can bring wealth and power to the party!

7/15 (Thu)

Chiron Retrograde

Chiron, the wounded healer, turns retrograde at 12:41 pm EDT (12°55′ Aries). He’ll turn direct again in about 5 months, on 12/19 (8°26′ Aries).

As Chiron turns retrograde, it’s a good time to reflect on the healing you most need to do. Which unhealed traumas are blocking your way forward? What guidance do you need to chart your optimal course? With Chiron in Aries, how is your unhealed emotional pain stopping you from doing your best as a warrior, pioneer, entrepreneur or sexual being?
