A Scorpio Full Moon, its opportunities amplified by a flowing Cradle aspect pattern, highlights the first half of May. We also have Mercury turning direct, three additional aspect patterns, a Mars-Neptune square that can help integrate spiritual energy into physical action, and more!

Powerful new inspirations can illuminate your relationships and creativity as Venus quintiles Pluto (1°22′ Aries-19°22′ Capricorn). You can also ask within for new insights into sexuality and finance.

Mercury Direct
Mercury turns direct today at 12:33 PM EDT (24°15′ Aries). It turned retrograde on 4/9 at 4°50′ Taurus.
As the winged messenger backpedaled, I recommended on 4/9 that you first reflect on your material possessions, sensuality, persistence and “just beingness” (Taurus) … then ponder how you’re acting as the warrior, pioneer, entrepreneur and sexual being (Aries).
With Mercury now direct, feel free to start taking definitive action based on the insights you’ve gained. You can also proceed with any contract signings, major purchases or any other significant event you were delaying while Mercury was retrograde. (To discover the optimal timing for important new beginnings and purchases, I recommend using Electional Astrology.)
Law of Attraction and embodied awakening are smoothly empowered by the Taurean Sun sextile Neptune (13°45′ Taurus-Pisces). Slow down and connect with the divine … preferably out in nature. This sextile is part of the Sun-Jupiter-Neptune Yod that started on 4/30, peaks on 5/4 and ends on 5/9.
You can be inspired to bring new hope and structure to your relationships and creativity with Libran Jupiter quintile Saturn (15°12′ Libra-27°12′ Sagittarius). This opportunity remains active through 7/11.
5/4 (Thu)
Yod Peaks: Sun-Jupiter-Neptune
If you bring the focus, a Sun-Jupiter-Neptune Yod that started on 4/30, peaks today (5/4) and ends on 5/9 can deliver some sweet results. (This aspect pattern shares most of its interpretation with yesterday’s Sun-Neptune sextile, which is part of the Yod.) A focus on embodied awakening (Taurus Sun sextile Piscean Neptune) can bring new joy and expansion (Jupiter) to your life. This aspect pattern can also amplify your Law of Attraction manifestation power.
5/5 (Fri)
Thor’s Hammer Peaks: Ceres-Juno-Jupiter-Pluto
The Ceres-Juno-Jupiter-Pluto Thor’s Hammer that started on 4/27 peaks today (5/5) and ends on 5/10. As I said on 4/27, the emphasis is on Ceres’s diverse core meanings: abundance, sorrow, release and return, and mother-daughter relationships.
Any or all of these can be potently magnified by the Jupiter-Pluto square on the aspect pattern’s back end. Juno’s presence suggests that a committed partnership of some kind may fire up these effects … or perhaps that partnership can support you in working with whatever challenges or opportunities arise.
You can be inspired to get in gear with your mentoring or healing with Mars quintile Chiron (9°30′ Gemini-27°30′ Pisces). With Mars in Gemini, feel free to be playful and experimental!
Unto itself, the Taurean Sun quincunx Jupiter (15°1′ Taurus-Libra) can stimulate whatever adjustments are needed for persistence and productivity. This quincunx is also part of the Sun-Jupiter-Neptune Yod that peaked yesterday and ends on 5/9.

Slow, sweet sexuality is luxuriously illuminated with the Taurean Sun trine Pluto (19°18′ Taurus-Capricorn). This aspect also empowers all kinds of accomplishment … as long as you contribute enough of your personal energy. Trines can be lazy!

Scorpio Full Moon
May’s Full Moon illuminates the sky at 5:42 PM EDT (20°24′ Scorpio). What adjustments would make your life more wonderful in the areas of death and rebirth, shared resources, the occult and psychology? How about sacred sex, shadow work and personal transformation? And don’t forget more mainstream areas such as taxes, accounting, insurance and inheritance. Scorpio covers a lot of ground, and needs four symbols (more than any other astrological sign) to do it: snake, scorpion, eagle and phoenix.
Aspects: It’s a Cradle!
This Full Moon’s most significant aspects are tight sextiles from Juno and Pluto and a trine from Neptune. These aspects, along with the Sun, form a Cradle aspect pattern.
Pluto embodies the same Scorpio meanings I detailed two paragraphs up. Pluto’s tight conjunction with Juno in Capricorn can help transform your committed partnerships to be more practical and productive. Neptune supports flow and soul connection in those areas that align with your soul purpose, and will help dissolve whatever isn’t.
This Full Moon’s aspects can help you flow into whatever transformations are needed to deepen your spiritual awakening or inspired creativity. If you’ve been working solo, would a committed partnership of some kind make your transformation and spiritual growth easier?
Sabian Symbol
This Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “Obeying his conscience, a soldier resists orders.” Intimate connection and committed partnership are strong themes of this lunation. Are you meekly acquiescing to a partner’s preferences when they conflict with yours? If so, this Full Moon can provide a good opportunity to shift that pattern. It’s amazing how often you can work out solutions that meet everybody’s needs! An excellent guidebook for this process is Nonviolent Communication, 3rd Edition by Marshall Rosenberg.
More broadly, this Sabian Symbol asks if you’re willing to hold the line and act only in those ways that align with your soul resonance. This requires awakening from what author Charles Eisenstein calls the “Story of Separation”. For an inspiring examination of this theme, check out Eisenstein’s extraordinary book The More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible — you can read it online for free!
The new golden age now dawning on Earth supports each person becoming their own authority and doing whatever brings them the greatest joy. The sooner each of us embodies that, the sooner that day will come!
Today’s Jupiter-Pallas opposition (14°31′ Libra-Aries) is part of two aspect patterns: a Juno-Pallas-Jupiter-Pluto T-square thru 6/4, and a Venus-Juno-Pallas-Jupiter-Pluto T-square that will run 5/13 thru 5/29. Please see those T-square interpretations to understand this Jupiter-Pallas opposition in context.
It can be a lot easier to receive your intuitive flashes – and act on them – with Mercury conjunct Uranus in Aries (25°55′ Aries). This aspect can also help your higher intelligence pop all sorts of brilliant ideas into your head. Leave enough quiet space in your days so you can hear them!
5/11 (Thu)
It’s a great time for activities that merge physical movement with divine energy as Mars squares Neptune (13°55′ Gemini-Pisces). Examples include tai chi, chi gung, yoga, ecstatic dance, and sacred sex. With Mars in diversity-loving Gemini, try something new!
Dynamic, disciplined thinking and communication is supported with Mercury in Aries trine Saturn (26°40′ Aries-Sagittarius).
5/12 (Fri)
You can enjoy a smooth and consistent flow of energy with Mars trine Jupiter (14°23′ Gemini-Libra). Communication and mental activities are especially supported. And be sure to give yourself enough variety – there are lots of dishes on life’s smorgasbord!

T-square Begins: Venus-Juno-Pallas-Jupiter-Pluto
This new T-square simply adds Venus to the existing T-square featuring Juno, Pallas, Jupiter and Pluto. This revision of my 4/18 interpretation of the Juno-Pallas-Jupiter-Pluto T-square includes Venus’s influence.
A relationship can be an extraordinary crucible for power dynamics and transformation. These processes are potently amplified by a T-square featuring Juno, Pallas, Jupiter and Pluto. This seven-week aspect pattern began on 4/18, peaks on 5/16 and ends on 6/4. Adding Venus creates a briefer Venus-Juno-Pallas-Jupiter-Pluto T-square that starts today (5/13), peaks on 5/22 and ends on 5/29.
The apex of the T-square with Venus still focuses on conjoined Juno and Pluto. This highlights transformation and empowerment in committed partnership. Venus also represents relationships, so this doubles down on the partnership theme. With Juno and Pluto in Capricorn, there’s an emphasis on working together efficiently and productively.
Juno and Pluto receive a square from Pallas and Venus in Aries. Pallas, the planet of feminine assertiveness, wants the female partner (or whoever’s usually more receptive) to stand up and make sure she’s getting as good as she’s giving. Venus in Aries wants the same thing!
In the T-square’s third corner, Libran Jupiter strives to maintain fairness and harmony. He also stands ready to contribute enthusiasm, joy and celebration.
A brand-new theme added by Venus in Aries is to be boldly assertive in your creative expression. No project is too big, and let no taboo inhibit your vision! This T-square can also be financially empowering if handled with courage and common sense.
If ignored or used selfishly, this T-square could fire up power plays, conflict and aggression. Used consciously for a win-win outcome, it can promote honesty, cooperation and a new level of pleasure and effectiveness in your committed partnerships.

Void-of-Course Moons
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during void-of-course Moons. “Business as usual” is the optimal strategy. Void-of-course Moons occur when the Moon has made her last major Ptolemaic aspect, but has not yet moved into her next sign.
