We have triumphed. And how!
You folks came through for me big time yesterday. Thanks to your flood of 99-cent eBook purchases, Instant Divine Assistance hit #1 in 11 Amazon categories.
That’s not a typo. Eleven categories!
When I emailed you yesterday, I was hoping to hit #1 in one category. Then a wonderful bit of timing multiplied our success.
Here’s what happened.
When I submitted my eBook to Amazon on Monday night, they assigned it to four categories. After doing my Amazon category research (with an amazing, must-have program for authors called KDPRocket), I chose 10 categories. These had to fit two criteria: 1) they genuinely fit my book, and 2) I had a decent shot at hitting #1.
Instant Divine Assistance was still in the original four categories Amazon gave me when I emailed you yesterday morning. My goal at that point was to move from #2 to #1 in the Kindle New Age Mental & Spiritual Healing category. This was not one of the ten I’d selected, since KDPRocket had given me an intimidating statistic: I would have to sell 131 eBooks in one day to hit #1 in that category.
That goal seemed awfully ambitious. But I was already at #2, so it seemed like #1 might actually be within reach.
Sure enough, I beat the odds and hit number #1 in the Kindle New Age Mental & Spiritual Healing category three hours after I sent my email yesterday morning – thanks to you wonderful folks!
About two hours after that, Amazon moved Instant Divine Assistance to the 10 categories I had requested… and, lo and behold, it shot to #1 in 10 more Kindle categories!
These categories all start with Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Religion & Spirituality >. They are:
- New Age > Mysticism
- New Age > Self-Help
- Other Religions, Practices & Sacred Texts > Mysticism
- Spirituality > Meditations
- Spirituality > Personal Growth (now at #6)
- Spirituality > Personal Growth > Mysticism
- Spirituality > Personal Growth > Self-Help (now at #5)
- Spirituality > Personal Growth > Spiritual Growth
- Spirituality > Personal Growth > Spiritual Healing
- Spirituality > Personal Growth > Transformational
Amazon updates its charts every hour. I’m pleased to see that, about 24 hours after hitting #1 in these categories, I’m still holding that position in all but two of them. Your 99-cent eBook purchases continue to help me!
In summary, this is an incredible start. I never dreamed I would hit #1 in so many categories so quickly!
But you folks made it happen. I absolutely could not have done it without you. My words can’t possibly express my gratitude. You’ve helped me help more people, and given this major new phase of my life journey an amazing kick-start!
