As if this US election cycle wasn’t already crazy enough, we have a “wild card” Blue Moon on Halloween – three days before the election! This Taurus Full Moon is tightly conjunct Uranus, the planet of the unexpected.

This half-month also features a Libra New Moon with an intense T-square, a peaking Grand Cross that stokes creativity and spirituality, the Sun entering Scorpio, and more!

10/16 (Fri)

Libra New Moon

A New Moon lines up today at 3:31 PM EDT (23°53′ Libra). Any Libra New Moon supports new beginnings in relationship and creativity, as well as harmony, balance and aesthetic appreciation.

Aspects

T-square

This New Moon’s most important aspects are all rolled up into one aspect pattern: a T-square that includes the Moon, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto.

This is the same T-square I interpreted on 10/8, except we’ve now added the Moon. This doesn’t fundamentally change the interpretation, so I will now liberally and shamelessly borrow from that post.

At the most basic level, the Sun represents your vitality and the core of your human identity. Those parts that are well aligned can enjoy tremendous power and endurance!

One meaning of the luminaries in Libra is relationships. Since the other T-square planets are making hard aspects to the Sun and Moon, they’re broadcasting lots of challenge and intensity.

Even the best relationships may hit a rough patch. If so, my standard recommendations apply: Nonviolent Communication for working things out between the two of you, and my free Healing Invocation for your internal emotional healing.

The good news is that facing relational challenges with effective modalities can make a relationship more strong and authentic. This T-square can also add fire to your lovemaking. And since Libra is also the sign of the artist, this T-square can add tremendous juju to your creative efforts.

Trine

This New Moon’s only other significant aspect is a trine to Ceres. The grain goddess, associated with harvest, can make abundance easier to achieve. She’s also associated with sorrow and loss, so her trine to the luminaries can make any shadow work you’re doing easier.

Sabian Symbol

This New Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “A third wing on the left side of a butterfly.” To me this suggests that we appreciate beauty … even when it shows up in unconventional ways!

This symbol also suggests a fundamental truth about transformation. As we all know, each butterfly was once a caterpillar. It had to go through a complete meltdown (literally!) to reach its final form.

The left side symbolizes receptivity. As I’ve learned through my ayahuasca ceremonies and other shamanic work, transformation comes most easily when I surrender into the process.

I’ve experienced many psychological and shamanic death and rebirth processes. Because I didn’t know any better, I made the early ones a lot harder by trying to control them. It took me years to learn that relaxing, allowing and surrendering into the mystery – even though I couldn’t know the final outcome – eased and optimized the process.

A level of consciousness cannot comprehend a level beyond itself. If you’re in the midst of a powerful transformation, there’s simply no way that your ego can fully understand what you’re becoming. My experience suggests that asking the divine for the highest good outcome, then letting it have its way with you, always gives the best results.

10/18 & 10/19 (Sun & Mon)

Venus is powerfully stimulated two days in a row. On 10/18, Venus opposes Neptune (18°37′ Virgo-Pisces). On 10/19, Venus trines Jupiter (19°27′ Virgo Capricorn).

These two aspects complement each other. Creatively speaking, Neptune flows divine inspiration to artistic Venus, making it easier to receive creativity from your Muse. With Venus in Virgo, it’s also a great time to put the finishing touches on your masterpiece. Jupiter expands these effects, and can add joy and celebration into the mix!

Spiritually, Neptune holds the energy of divine union. With Venus representing relationship, this is a wonderful time to dive into spiritual awakening practices.

Not only can you merge with the divine, this aspect also helps you connect more fluidly with other people. Consciously blending your energy with others is easier with Venus opposite Neptune.

And the “others” don’t have to be human. This aspect can help you consciously merge with animals, nature, or anything else in the physical world.

What about Jupiter? Once again, it serves as an amplifier, boosting the energy of the Venus-Neptune combinations.

The Venus-Neptune opposition could also have challenging effects. On the low side, Neptune can represent deceit, confusion and gaslighting in relationships. Creatively or spiritually, you could get so blissed out that you focus only on your own pleasure. Venus in Virgo wants to serve others by expressing creativity or being of spiritual service.

10/19 (Mon)

Grand Cross Peaks, Stoking Creativity and Spirituality

The Grand Cross with Venus, Neptune and the lunar nodes that started on 10/12 peaks today (10/19) and ends on 10/26.

This Grand Cross incorporates a Venus-Neptune opposition, which I just interpreted in my 10/18-10/19 forecast. In addition to those effects, the lunar nodes encourage you to dive into all of those activities in alignment with your soul purpose. And since the lunar nodes are in the Axis of Communication (Sagittarius and Gemini), they encourage whatever learning or sharing of information you’re inspired to do.

As always with astrology, the more energy you put into positive potentials, the less energy remains for challenging manifestations. Also, the more spiritually conscious you are, the easier Neptune is to work with!

A Mars-Jupiter square (19°26′ Aries-Capricorn) can energize you as a warrior, pioneer or entrepreneur. This aspect can also provide a strong libido boost or help you get something started.

10/20 (Tue)

Hard Rectangle Peaks (Again!)

Are you ready to break through your conditioned thinking to a new level of genius? You have help from a Hard Rectangle that started on 10/2, had its first peak on 10/7, peaks again today on 10/20, and ends on 10/24. It includes Mercury, Juno, Uranus and the lunar nodes.

Let’s interpret this aspect pattern without Juno for a moment. Mercury represents human mind, while Uranus represents divine mind. They’re in an opposition, the aspect of relationship, which makes them eager to connect.

Uranus communicates via intuitive flash. Stay tuned for these! You’ll recognize them because of the absolute certainty that accompanies them upon arrival.

You may doubt this divine download after the fact. But did you “feel it in your bones” or “know it in your gut” when it showed up? If so, it’s a sure bet that it’s trustworthy guidance from your higher self.

The lunar nodes hold down the other two corners of this narrow rectangle. This encourages you to focus on your soul purpose. With the lunar nodes in Sagittarius and Gemini, the Axis of Communication, what learning or communication would serve highest good?

What if we incorporate Juno into this interpretation? This asteroid goddess of committed partnership could represent someone who helps you understand or implement your intuitive download. It could be someone you help by using this guidance. It could even be someone who delivers your intuitive message to you, if you’re not yet open enough to hear it for yourself!

10/22 (Thu)

Sun Enters Scorpio

The Sun enters Scorpio at 7 PM EDT. For the next month, a variety of energies will be more prominent.

Transformation is a central Scorpio theme. Death and rebirth processes, especially those that are emotional or shamanic, are highlighted. It’s a good time to have effective shadow work processes ready, such as my free Healing Invocation.

Wealth is also a Scorpio theme. This could be lots of money, or anything that you value. Anything that makes your life better, tangible or intangible, could count as wealth.

Another Scorpio theme is power. This comes in two basic flavors. “Power over” is all about domination, control and manipulation. “Shared power” is exercised by those who have found their power internally, and want to help others find theirs as well. An easy and effective way to source your internal power is with my free Embodied Awakening Invocation.

Sex, another Scorpio theme, also has two basic levels. The first is simple lust, the raw physical desire for sexual pleasure and orgasm. The second is sacred or Tantric sex. This operates at a much higher level of ecstasy, made possible by the conscious blending of your light bodies.

Scorpio also rules the occult. Occult simply means “hidden”, and in metaphysical terms refers to what’s beyond the five senses. It need not be dark or creepy. Occult practices include astrology, tarot, energy healing, mediumship, and psychic abilities.

As you can see, Scorpio has a lot of themes. Choose the ones that most excite you and dive in!

10/31 (Sat)

Taurus Full Moon

A Full Moon shines forth at 10:49 AM EDT (8°38′ Taurus). Any Taurus Full Moon is great for release or adjustment in several areas.

These include money, possessions, and self-esteem. Are you delighting your five senses with enough sensual experiences? Are you making enough time to be in nature, and to “just be”?

Aspects

Uranus Conjunction

This Full Moon’s standout aspect is an incredibly tight conjunction of Uranus and the Moon. They’re only 3 minutes apart – just 1/20 of a degree! Uranus can represent surprise, shock, paradigm shift and revolution. And here it is conjoining this Full Moon three days before the US presidential election!

On a more personal level, Uranus invites you to make all appropriate adjustments to embody his positive energies more fully. Embody your authentic self. Follow your intuitive hits. And serve others with your special gifts and talents that you most love to use.

On the low side, Uranus can catalyze anxiety, nervousness, irritability and other jangly nervous system stimuli. Cultivate his high side expressions to minimize these effects. (You may also find my Embodied Awakening Invocation helpful, since it neutralizes challenging emotions.)

Juno Opposition

This lunation’s second most powerful aspect is the Moon’s opposition to Juno. This powerfully energizes any committed partnership, romantic or platonic.

Juno is in Scorpio, which invites vulnerable, authentic connection at the deepest possible level. This includes soul-merging sex if appropriate.

With Uranus opposing Juno, there’s an opportunity for dramatic change in a committed partnership. On one extreme, this could be ending the relationship entirely. On the other, it could be taking a wonderful relationship to the next level of awesomeness!

Vesta Trine

This Full Moon’s final significant aspect is a trine to Vesta. What support are you giving to a higher cause that benefits others, but doesn’t directly enrich yourself? This trine supports easy, harmonious connection between you and this worthy endeavor.

Sabian Symbol

This Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “A Christmas tree is decorated and shines in the darkness.” I’m inspired to look past the Christmas tree’s associations with Christianity and commercialism to something more basic: its beauty.

These crazy times we’re living through have more than enough darkness. Yet a single candle can illuminate an entire dark room. How much more luminous is a beautifully decorated Christmas tree – which stands here as a metaphor for you, radiating your love and light to those around you?

If you’d like an easy way to do this, here’s a simple invocation that will do the job. Say this to your higher self: “Please flow the energy through me to serve the highest good of [the recipient(s)]”. Then relax and rest in passive breath awareness. Your higher self will send the energy down into your crown chakra and out the front of your body.

Your human self is just a glorified piece of pipe at this point. This invocation works best when you don’t visualize or use effort to direct the energy. Just rest in passive breath awareness. Leave all the effort and details to your higher self, which can do this about a zillion times better than any human! The energy flow will naturally wind down when your recipient(s) have received their fill.
