An intense Jupiter-Chiron square, Neptune stationing retrograde, and a richly aspected Cancer New Moon highlight July’s first half. We also have Mars and Venus rapidly aspecting all three “gods of change” as the three outer planets move into their world-transforming aspect pattern! (Which I’ll scrutinize in the next installment.)
The written forecast is a condensed version of my video and podcast. The written forecast gives you the bottom line, while the video and podcast give you the full depth and nuance of my interpretations.

Originally, I planned to make one massive episode covering the entire month of July. My idea was to interpret all of the historic aspects among Jupiter and the three outer planets that unfold throughout the month.
However, July contains so many other important astrological events that I decided to spare you from astrology overwhelm. Instead, I’m dividing this remarkable month into three forecasts.
This first forecast covers the astrology through July 15, except for the first of the “Gods of Change” aspects. The second will focus exclusively on the six aspects between Jupiter and the Gods of Change that occur between July 15 and July 25. The third forecast will cover everything else happening during the second half of July.
I’ll release these additional forecasts as quickly as I can.
Even with that division, there’s an extraordinary amount of powerful astrology to explore here. We’ll begin with the pivotal Jupiter-Chiron square, followed by Mars making rapid aspects to all three outer planets. We’ll also explore Neptune’s retrograde station, Venus aspecting all three Gods of Change on the same day, and a richly aspected Cancer New Moon.
Let’s dive in!
July 1: Jupiter Square Chiron

Expanding Beyond the Wounds That Have Limited You
This is one of July’s most significant evolutionary aspects.
Jupiter has just entered Leo, while Chiron has only recently entered Taurus. Because both planets are at the beginning of new signs, this square carries exceptional power. Rather than simply activating an old story, it introduces an entirely new developmental lesson that will continue unfolding over the coming years.
At its highest expression, Jupiter always wants you to grow.
In Leo, it encourages greater confidence, creativity, and authentic self-expression. It also supports generosity, wholehearted living, and the willingness to stop playing small. Jupiter invites you to let your unique gifts shine.
Chiron in Taurus offers an important counterbalance.
Taurus governs self-worth, embodiment, and security. It also rules resources, values, and your relationship with the physical world. Chiron reveals where these foundations still need healing.
Together, these archetypes create a dynamic tension.
Part of you longs to step into greater visibility and fulfillment. Another part still carries old fears of not being good enough, worthy enough, safe enough, or valuable enough.
If this aspect feels uncomfortable, it doesn’t mean something is wrong. It means growth is asking you to move beyond limitations that may have quietly defined your comfort zone for years.
How This May Show Up
You may suddenly feel inspired to take a much bigger step in your life.
Perhaps you’re ready to launch a project, begin teaching, perform publicly, or step into leadership. You might decide to write more, raise your fees, or allow yourself to become more visible.
Other possibilities include expressing your creativity more freely or simply allowing yourself to be seen more authentically.
Almost immediately, however, an old inner voice may speak up:
“Who do you think you are?”
Past experiences of rejection, criticism, or financial insecurity may suddenly feel much louder.
For others, the trigger could involve body shame, creative disappointment, or feeling overlooked and undervalued.
Jupiter magnifies whatever it touches.
Chiron shines a spotlight on unresolved wounds.
Together, they don’t create the wound—they simply make it impossible to ignore.
Hidden Ways You May Undervalue Yourself
This square can expose subtle patterns that have quietly limited your growth.
Perhaps you’ve been giving too much while charging too little.
Maybe you’ve minimized your accomplishments or apologized for taking up space.
Another common pattern is confusing humility with self-denial.
The Collective Expression
Collectively, this square may intensify conversations around money, leadership, and economic inequality.
It can also spotlight personal values, creative expression, bodily autonomy, and our relationship with material resources.
Other themes include food, land, and broader questions about who receives recognition, celebration, and fair compensation for their contributions.
Questions of worth—both personal and societal—become much harder to avoid.
The Shadow Expression
Like every challenging aspect, Jupiter square Chiron can express unconsciously if we aren’t paying attention.
Possible shadow expressions include:
- Inflating your confidence to cover deeper insecurity.
- Seeking admiration instead of authentic self-expression.
- Equating financial success or popularity with personal worth.
- Becoming overly attached to being right because uncertainty feels too vulnerable.
- Trying to bypass emotional healing through excessive optimism or spiritual positivity.
Leo can tempt us toward pride.
Taurus can tempt us toward resistance to change.
Together, they may create a stubborn attachment to familiar limitations—even while another part of you longs to grow beyond them.
The Opportunity
The real gift of this square isn’t simply greater confidence.
It’s confidence rooted in genuine self-worth.
Jupiter encourages you to express your gifts more fully.
Chiron asks you to build that expression on a healthier foundation.
Instead of asking,
“How can I become more successful?”
this aspect invites a much deeper question:
“How can I become the kind of person who naturally allows success because I genuinely know my own worth?”
That’s a far more lasting transformation.
This can be an especially fruitful time for healing longstanding issues involving money, pricing your work, and receiving appropriate compensation.
It also supports growth in leadership, creativity, body image, and self-esteem.
Other opportunities include becoming more comfortable receiving support and allowing yourself to be seen without depending upon external validation.
The Best Use of This Transit
You don’t need to make a dramatic leap.
Instead, take one courageous step that stretches your comfort zone while remaining grounded.
Perhaps you finally charge what your work is truly worth.
Maybe you share something meaningful you’ve hesitated to reveal.
You might allow yourself to receive appreciation without immediately deflecting it.
Or perhaps you express your creativity without demanding perfection.
Another possibility is saying yes to an opportunity your old fears would have rejected.
Every authentic act of self-expression strengthens genuine self-worth.
Bottom Line
The highest expression of Jupiter square Chiron is realizing that your wounds do not disqualify you from shining.
In fact, once your wounds have been consciously integrated, they often become the very source of your wisdom, compassion, and ability to help others.
Rather than hiding your scars, this aspect encourages you to recognize that they may become part of your greatest strengths.
July 4-5: Mars Conjunct Uranus, Sextile Neptune, and Trine Pluto

This is one of the most dynamic and empowering action signatures of July.
Rather than treating these as three separate aspects, it’s more accurate to view them as a single evolutionary sequence.
Mars is simultaneously receiving three very different kinds of support.
- Uranus awakens and liberates action.
- Neptune spiritualizes and inspires action.
- Pluto empowers and transforms action.
Together, they create a rare opportunity to break free from the past, align with a higher vision, and pursue it with extraordinary determination and effectiveness.
If Mars represents how you direct your life force, this configuration upgrades the way you use that life force. It asks you not simply to work harder, but to act from a completely new level of consciousness.
The Core Theme: Inspired Breakthrough
The central question is simple:
What would you do if you suddenly realized you were far less limited than you thought?
This combination can feel like a surge of electricity flowing through your will.
It encourages decisive movement, courageous experimentation, and a willingness to leave behind stagnant patterns that have quietly outlived their usefulness.
Unlike many Mars-Uranus combinations, however, this one doesn’t operate alone.
Neptune and Pluto stabilize and deepen the energy.
Instead of merely creating disruption, this configuration supports purposeful evolution.
Mars Conjunct Uranus
Liberation Through Action
Mars governs initiative, courage, drive, desire, sexuality, conflict, and physical energy.
Uranus represents awakening, innovation, freedom, originality, higher consciousness, and unexpected change.
When these planets unite, the result is often explosive—not necessarily in a bad way, but in terms of energy and momentum.
This is one of astrology’s classic signatures for:
- Breaking old habits.
- Escaping stagnation.
- Inventing something new.
- Rapid innovation.
- Bold experimentation.
- Unexpected opportunities.
- Sudden courage.
- Acting independently.
- Taking immediate action on your intuitive hits.
Many people experience Mars-Uranus as the feeling that they simply cannot continue living the old way.
Old routines suddenly become unbearable.
Restrictions feel intolerable.
Freedom becomes non-negotiable.
This can be wonderfully liberating.
Instead of asking,
“What should I do?”
Mars-Uranus asks,
“What is finally possible?”
Breaking the Internal Prison
The greatest breakthroughs under this transit are often internal.
Many people discover they’ve been imprisoned less by external circumstances than by longstanding assumptions.
Old beliefs such as:
- I’m too old.
- I’m not ready.
- I’ll do it someday.
begin losing their emotional power.
Other familiar thoughts may include:
- I don’t know enough.
- I’ll upset people.
- I can’t really do that.
Uranus disrupts the mental architecture supporting these limitations.
Mars immediately wants to act upon the realization.
Innovation and Breakthrough Thinking
This is exceptional energy for:
- Technology and AI.
- Entrepreneurship and new business models.
- Creative experimentation.
- Engineering and software development.
- Scientific breakthroughs.
- Social innovation.
Problems that resisted months of effort can suddenly reveal elegant solutions.
The key is remaining flexible enough to recognize them.
Mars Sextile Neptune
Inspired Action
By itself, Mars-Uranus can be reckless.
Neptune changes everything.
Neptune introduces intuition, compassion, imagination, spiritual purpose, creative flow, and visionary awareness.
Instead of acting simply because something is exciting, Mars now asks:
“Does this also feel spiritually aligned?”
The sextile allows inspiration to guide courage.
This is one of the finest combinations for:
- Artists
- Musicians
- Filmmakers
- Healers
- Spiritual teachers
- Visionaries
- Anyone seeking to bring imagination into practical reality
The Warrior Mystic
Mars-Neptune symbolizes what might be called the warrior-mystic.
Instead of fighting from anger, action emerges from inspiration.
Instead of pushing relentlessly, you follow subtle guidance.
Instead of dominating, you serve.
The will becomes an instrument rather than an ego.
That distinction is crucial.
Mars still acts decisively.
Neptune simply purifies why it acts.
This combination beautifully supports:
- Healing work.
- Meditation.
- Charity and service.
- Ritual and energy healing.
- Music, dance, and film.
- Creative visualization.
Compassion becomes active rather than merely sentimental.
Mars Trine Pluto
Empowered Transformation
If Uranus liberates action and Neptune inspires it, Pluto gives it tremendous staying power.
Mars-Pluto is one of astrology’s greatest signatures for focused determination.
The trine removes much of the friction.
Instead of scattered intensity, your energy becomes concentrated, purposeful, strategic, and relentless.
Extraordinary Willpower
This transit may reveal reserves of strength you didn’t know you had.
Long-delayed projects can suddenly gain sustained momentum.
Psychological obstacles become easier to confront.
Difficult conversations become more manageable.
Habits become easier to change.
Life hasn’t necessarily become easier. Your inner power has simply become much more accessible.
Constructive Power
Pluto asks one simple question:
Now that you’ve awakened, what will you build?
Mars-Uranus creates the breakthrough.
Mars-Pluto creates the follow-through.
Without Pluto, many Uranian breakthroughs remain exciting ideas.
With Pluto, they become lasting transformation!
One Integrated Evolutionary Sequence
Seen together, these three aspects unfold almost like an initiation.
Stage One: Awakening
Mars conjunct Uranus breaks open the old reality.
A new possibility appears.
Old limitations crack.
Fresh energy arrives.
Stage Two: Alignment
Mars sextile Neptune asks whether this new possibility actually serves your soul.
Not every exciting opportunity deserves pursuit.
Neptune filters inspiration through compassion and higher purpose.
It asks:
Does this reflect who you truly want to become?
Stage Three: Embodiment
Mars trine Pluto supplies the determination to make the vision real.
Instead of remaining an exciting insight, the breakthrough becomes integrated into daily life.
Transformation becomes durable.
The Collective Expression
On the world stage, this combination can correlate with rapid developments in:
- Technology and AI.
- Engineering and medicine.
- Renewable energy and aerospace.
- Scientific innovation.
- Entrepreneurship and business.
- Activism and political developments.
Because Neptune is involved, we may also see advances in:
- Spirituality.
- Healing modalities.
- Consciousness research.
- Creative arts that blend technology with imagination.
At the same time, Mars-Uranus can increase volatility.
Sudden accidents, infrastructure disruptions, cyber events, impulsive actions, and confrontations remain possible if people act from impatience rather than awareness.
The harmonious Neptune and Pluto aspects greatly improve the odds that this energy can be channeled constructively, but they don’t eliminate the need for discernment.
Best Uses of This Energy
This is an outstanding window for:
- Launching an innovative project you’ve carefully prepared.
- Taking a courageous step you’ve postponed out of fear.
- Breaking a persistent habit or psychological pattern.
- Making decisive progress toward a long-term goal.
- Beginning a new fitness, healing, or spiritual discipline.
- Applying AI or new technology to improve your work.
- Producing creative work that combines inspiration with disciplined execution.
- Leading in ways that are visionary, compassionate, and strategically grounded.
The greatest gains come from acting boldly but not impulsively.
Shadow Expressions
Like every powerful configuration, this one can become destabilizing if expressed unconsciously.
Potential pitfalls include:
- Acting so quickly that you overlook practical considerations.
- Mistaking adrenaline for intuition.
- Becoming impatient with people who change more slowly.
- Using newfound power to dominate rather than empower.
- Pursuing constant novelty instead of meaningful innovation.
- Confusing spiritual inspiration with wishful thinking.
Before taking major action, ask yourself:
Is this impulse coming from excitement alone—or from enthusiasm that has been tested by intuition and strengthened by disciplined commitment?
Bottom Line
This is one of July’s strongest signatures for purposeful breakthrough.
Mars conjunct Uranus says:
Break free.
Mars sextile Neptune says:
Align with your highest vision.
Mars trine Pluto says:
Commit to make that vision real.
Together, they describe a rare convergence of liberation, inspiration, and empowerment.
The old way of acting can now be replaced by a more authentic expression of your will—one that is freer than before, guided by deeper purpose, and powerful enough to sustain lasting transformation.
July 7: Neptune Stations Retrograde

4°25′ Aries
Neptune’s retrograde station begins a long review of its new cycle in Aries.
The Dream Turns Inward
Neptune in Aries is about the spiritualization of will, courage, identity, action, and individual awakening.
It asks profound questions:
- What does inspired action actually look like?
- What is my true calling?
- Where am I confusing divine guidance with impulse, fantasy, or ego?
When Neptune turns retrograde, the outward fog often becomes an inward mirror.
At its highest expression, this station heightens intuition, sensitivity, mystical perception, and idealism. It can also deepen your longing for a life that feels spiritually authentic.
Its lower expressions may include fatigue, confusion, escapism, or uncertainty about your direction.
This is a better time for subtle listening than hard-edged certainty.
Humanity’s First Review of a New Spiritual Era
Because Neptune recently entered Aries, this retrograde is especially significant.
It’s humanity’s first deep review of a new 14-year spiritual atmosphere.
Neptune in Pisces dissolved boundaries through compassion, mysticism, and spiritual yearning. It also expressed through collective grief, media saturation, and widespread confusion.
Neptune in Aries begins a very different lesson.
Instead of dissolving the individual self, it asks:
Can your individual self become a clear instrument of Spirit?
At its highest expression, Neptune in Aries supports:
- Spiritual courage.
- Visionary leadership.
- Sacred activism.
- Artistic boldness.
- Direct mystical experience.
It awakens the warrior-mystic—someone who acts from divine attunement rather than egoic aggression.
Its shadow expressions include confused crusades, spiritualized anger, martyr-hero complexes, impulsive escapism, glamorized conflict, and the assumption that my inspiration automatically equals truth.
The retrograde slows all of this down.
It asks you to distinguish between soul-guided action and unconscious compulsion disguised as destiny.
What This Retrograde May Feel Like
Around Neptune’s station, its energy becomes much stronger.
You may experience:
- A stronger pull toward meditation, dreams, and music.
- Greater interest in prayer, ritual, healing, or solitude.
- Less clarity around practical decisions.
- Heightened emotional sensitivity.
- A need to withdraw from noise, urgency, conflict, or overstimulation.
- The feeling that an old identity is quietly dissolving.
- A persistent inner question:
“What am I really being called to do?”
Because Neptune is now in Aries, much of the uncertainty centers around action.
You may not know whether to move forward or wait.
Whether to fight or surrender.
Whether to initiate something new or simply rest.
Neptune retrograde can make it more difficult to force movement.
At the same time, it becomes much easier to sense whether your movement is genuinely inspired.
The Spiritual Lesson
Neptune retrograde in Aries asks you to purify desire, not eliminate it.
Aries declares:
“I am.”
“I will.”
Neptune gently asks:
“But who is the ‘I’? And whose will is actually moving through you?”
This becomes a powerful period for recognizing where your personal will has been influenced by fantasy, fear, resentment, impatience, or a savior complex.
It may also reveal places where you’ve abandoned your own fire because you believed spirituality required passivity.
The healing isn’t becoming less Aries.
It’s becoming more consciously Aries.
That means expressing clearer courage, cleaner action, and more intuitively guided initiative.
Shadow Expressions
The primary cautions include:
- Mistaking impulse for intuition.
- Acting from spiritual inflation.
- Avoiding conflict by pretending to be above it.
- Sacrificing your own path to rescue others.
- Becoming seduced by a heroic fantasy.
- Launching something before the vision has matured.
- Using anger as truth.
- Using spirituality to bypass anger.
Neptune retrograde often reveals that a dream isn’t false.
It’s simply premature.
Or perhaps it isn’t wrong—it just needs deeper alignment before action.
The Best Use of This Transit
This is an excellent time for inner spiritual recalibration.
Supportive practices include:
- Dreamwork.
- Meditation.
- Divination.
- Somatic inquiry.
- Compassionate self-observation.
- Creative retreat.
- Honest self-questioning.
The essential questions become:
Where is my soul actually leading me?
Where am I projecting fantasy onto desire?
For creators, healers, spiritual entrepreneurs, and guides, this station can become a major refinement point.
It asks whether your offerings arise from genuine inspiration—or from the need to feel special, needed, or rescued.
For activists and leaders, it asks whether your mission is animated by love and vision—or by unprocessed rage and identity.
For seekers, it asks whether your spiritual path is producing greater presence, courage, and compassion—or simply giving you a more glamorous story about yourself.
Practical Guidance
Move slowly.
Don’t demand final answers from a transit specifically designed to dissolve false certainty.
Instead:
- Write down your dreams.
- Track synchronicities.
- Notice energetic drains.
- Pay attention to what no longer feels inspired.
If you’re feeling foggy, postpone major irreversible decisions whenever possible.
At the same time, don’t ignore a quiet, persistent inner knowing simply because it doesn’t arrive with fireworks.
Bottom Line
The highest expression of Neptune retrograde in Aries is divinely guided courage.
Not passive surrender.
Not reckless action.
Rather, it’s the kind of courage that acts only after listening deeply enough to know the action is truly aligned.
When your will becomes an instrument of spirit rather than ego, your actions naturally gain greater clarity, integrity, and power.
July 13: Venus Squares Uranus, Quincunxes Neptune and Pluto

On July 13, Venus aspects all three Gods of Change on the same day!
This creates one of the month’s most psychologically nuanced configurations.
Rather than signaling a simple relationship challenge, these aspects mark a major adjustment point in how you love, relate, value yourself, manage resources, and pursue fulfillment.
The three aspects work together beautifully.
- Venus square Uranus destabilizes existing patterns.
- Venus quincunx Neptune calls for spiritual and emotional recalibration.
- Venus quincunx Pluto demands psychological transformation.
Together, they describe a process in which familiar ways of seeking love, harmony, beauty, money, and security no longer fit the person you’re becoming.
The old equilibrium becomes unstable.
The new one hasn’t fully emerged.
This isn’t necessarily a crisis.
It’s an evolutionary adjustment.
Something within the Venus principle is being fundamentally rewired.
The Core Theme
This configuration asks one central question:
What must change in your relationships and value system so they better reflect who you’re becoming?
Venus governs much more than romance.
She also rules friendship, partnership, attraction, money, self-worth, values, pleasure, beauty, creativity, diplomacy, cooperation, and receptivity.
Every one of these areas is now undergoing significant adjustment.
Unlike conjunctions and trines, quincunxes indicate that two very different realities must learn to coexist without one eliminating the other.
Venus Square Uranus
Breaking Relationship Patterns
The square to Uranus introduces the most immediately noticeable energy in this configuration.
Uranus is the great awakener. It liberates, disrupts, surprises, and individualizes.
When Venus squares Uranus, relationship dynamics become less predictable.
This can manifest as:
- Unexpected attractions or separations.
- Changing desires.
- A stronger need for freedom.
- Restlessness within existing patterns.
- Creative experimentation.
- Financial surprises.
- Sudden shifts in priorities.
Many people experience this transit as the realization that something has become too confining.
Often, the issue isn’t the relationship itself.
It’s the pattern within the relationship.
The Need for Authenticity
Uranus has little patience for roles that have become mechanical.
Relationships based primarily on obligation, habit, social expectation, approval, or fear of change often begin to feel increasingly uncomfortable.
The square creates friction because Venus naturally seeks harmony while Uranus seeks liberation.
One partner may want predictability.
The other may need experimentation.
One may seek reassurance.
The other may need breathing room.
Neither impulse is inherently wrong.
The challenge is learning how to integrate stability with freedom.
Creative Innovation
Outside of relationships, this aspect is highly creative.
Artists often feel inspired to explore entirely new styles.
Businesses may discover innovative marketing approaches.
Financial thinking becomes less conventional.
Beauty itself becomes experimental.
This is excellent energy for refreshing your branding, design, aesthetics, artistic expression, and creative offerings.
Venus Quincunx Neptune
Adjusting the Heart’s Vision
Where Uranus challenges freedom, Neptune challenges ideals.
The quincunx is one of astrology’s most psychologically fascinating aspects because it rarely creates direct conflict.
Instead, it reveals misalignment.
Something simply doesn’t fit anymore.
Venus represents what you want.
Neptune represents what you imagine.
Together they ask:
Are you loving an actual person—or your projection of them?
Are you pursuing genuine fulfillment—or an idealized fantasy?
Dissolving Romantic Illusions
This aspect can expose subtle forms of illusion.
Usually, it isn’t deception by others.
More often, it’s self-deception.
Perhaps you’ve been ignoring red flags.
Maybe you’ve minimized your own needs.
You may have confused compassion with rescuing.
Or perhaps you’ve mistaken chemistry for compatibility.
Neptune gently removes these filters—not to create cynicism, but to create love that sees more clearly.
Spiritual Love vs. Escapism
At its highest level, Venus-Neptune seeks unconditional love.
At its lowest expression, it can become martyrdom, rescuer dynamics, avoidance, wishful thinking, or sacrificing yourself to preserve an image of harmony.
The quincunx doesn’t ask you to stop dreaming.
It asks:
Can your dreams become more grounded?
Venus Quincunx Pluto
Adjusting Power Within Love
Pluto introduces another layer entirely.
Where Neptune reveals illusion, Pluto reveals unconscious motivation.
Venus-Pluto often uncovers:
- Attachment.
- Control.
- Jealousy.
- Fear of loss.
- Dependency.
- Possessiveness.
- Hidden resentment.
- Emotional intensity that has gone underground.
The quincunx suggests these issues may not erupt dramatically.
Instead, they quietly become impossible to ignore.
Power and Vulnerability
Pluto asks difficult but liberating questions:
Where do you confuse love with control?
Where does fear quietly shape your relationships?
Where has your self-worth become dependent on external validation?
These questions may arise in romance, family, friendship, business, or finances.
Money itself can become psychologically revealing.
Your patterns of spending, saving, earning, pricing, or giving may expose hidden beliefs about worthiness and security.
Healthy Empowerment
Pluto never asks you to love less deeply.
It asks you to love more consciously.
Instead of saying,
“I need you,”
Pluto encourages,
“I choose you.”
Instead of trying to control every outcome, Pluto invites you to remain vulnerable without surrendering your power.
Neptune and Pluto Together
Idealism Meets Shadow
The two quincunxes create an extraordinary opportunity for integration.
Neptune asks:
What illusion needs compassion?
Pluto asks:
What fear needs transformation?
Neptune softens.
Pluto intensifies.
Neptune dissolves.
Pluto excavates.
Together, they support profound psychological integration.
Many people discover that their romantic ideals have been protecting them from deeper emotional work.
Others realize that their emotional intensity has been preventing genuine intimacy.
Both patterns become available for conscious adjustment.
One Integrated Developmental Process
Taken together, these three Venus aspects tell one coherent story.
Stage One: Disruption
Venus square Uranus destabilizes familiar patterns.
Old relationship dynamics begin to wobble.
Old financial habits feel increasingly limiting.
Creative stagnation becomes uncomfortable.
Freedom demands attention.
Stage Two: Emotional Realignment
Venus quincunx Neptune asks:
What truly nourishes your heart?
Fantasy must mature into vision.
Escapism must become compassion.
Projection must become presence.
Stage Three: Psychological Realignment
Venus quincunx Pluto asks:
What unconscious attachment keeps recreating this experience?
The work now becomes much deeper.
It’s no longer simply about changing circumstances.
It’s about transforming the inner pattern that created them.
Relationships
This configuration is especially significant for relationships—not because breakups are inevitable, but because authenticity becomes increasingly important.
Healthy relationships often grow stronger because hidden assumptions finally come into the open.
Less healthy relationships may experience tension because old compromises no longer satisfy either partner.
Questions likely to arise include:
- Can we allow each other to evolve?
- Can intimacy survive greater honesty?
- Can freedom and commitment coexist?
- Can vulnerability replace subtle control?
- Can love become more conscious without losing passion?
Creativity
For artists, writers, musicians, designers, and entrepreneurs, this can be an extraordinarily fertile period.
Uranus brings originality.
Neptune contributes imagination.
Pluto adds emotional depth.
Venus governs beauty and aesthetics.
Together, they encourage work that is:
- More authentic.
- More emotionally honest.
- Less conventional.
- More psychologically rich.
- More spiritually resonant.
If your old creative style suddenly feels limiting, it may simply be preparing you for your next breakthrough.
Financial Themes
Venus also governs resources and money.
This configuration encourages you to reassess:
- Pricing.
- Earning.
- Investing.
- Spending.
- Business partnerships.
- The emotional beliefs underlying your financial decisions.
Questions worth asking include:
- Am I undervaluing myself?
- Am I charging based on confidence or fear?
- Am I buying comfort instead of fulfillment?
- Am I holding onto financial structures that no longer reflect my evolving values?
Shadow Expressions
Potential pitfalls include:
- Making impulsive relationship decisions from restlessness rather than clarity.
- Confusing excitement with compatibility.
- Idealizing someone while ignoring reality.
- Becoming disillusioned when fantasies dissolve.
- Emotional manipulation or subtle power struggles.
- Jealousy disguised as love.
- People-pleasing that erodes authenticity.
- Making abrupt financial decisions to relieve temporary discomfort.
Because Uranus pushes for change while Neptune and Pluto require deeper inner adjustment, there can be a temptation to assume that changing the external situation will solve an internal pattern.
Often, the more enduring work is allowing your relationship to freedom, intimacy, and self-worth to evolve first.
Bottom Line
These July 13 Venus aspects aren’t primarily about losing stability.
They’re about outgrowing outdated forms of stability.
Uranus says love must become more authentic.
Neptune says love must become more compassionate and spiritually grounded.
Pluto says love must become more psychologically honest and empowering.
Together, they point toward relationships and a value system that are freer than before, less dependent -on illusion, and less governed by unconscious fear.
The invitation is to welcome change without becoming reckless, release illusion without becoming cynical, and confront deeper emotional patterns without becoming consumed by them.
When these three aspects are consciously integrated, they support a profound refinement of the heart.
July 14: Cancer New Moon

5:44 AM EDT • 21°59′ Cancer
Every New Moon marks the beginning of a fresh lunar cycle—a moment when the Sun and Moon unite to plant the energetic seed from which the coming four weeks will grow.
But not all New Moons emphasize the same dimensions of life.
Some push us outward toward action, achievement, and exploration.
Others draw us inward, inviting us to reconnect with the deeper currents that ultimately shape everything we create.
This New Moon falls in Cancer, making it one of the year’s most emotionally significant lunations.
Cancer is the zodiac’s great cultivator of inner life.
It governs emotional security, family, home, belonging, memory, intuition, nurturing, protection, ancestry, and the invisible foundations upon which every other part of life is built.
Every aspect in this chart should therefore be understood through a Cancerian lens.
Mercury doesn’t simply symbolize communication—it becomes emotionally intelligent communication.
Pallas Athena doesn’t merely represent strategy—she asks whether your strategies genuinely protect what matters most.
Vesta isn’t simply about devotion—she asks what deserves your heartfelt care and sustained emotional investment.
Eris doesn’t merely disrupt—she exposes emotional patterns and family narratives that have quietly limited your growth.
Even Venus and Uranus, though only making semi-squares to the luminaries, contribute to Cancer’s larger invitation to redefine what truly creates security, intimacy, and authentic belonging.
This isn’t simply a New Moon about beginning something new.
It’s a New Moon about creating healthier emotional foundations, from which every future beginning can naturally emerge.
The Core Theme
Every New Moon asks what new cycle wants to begin.
Cancer asks a deeper question:
What emotional foundation must be strengthened before this new cycle can truly flourish?
Modern culture often teaches us to focus on visible accomplishments.
We set goals.
We make plans.
We improve productivity.
We measure success through external milestones.
Cancer reminds us that every external achievement ultimately rests upon invisible emotional structures.
If those structures are unstable, success often feels hollow.
If they’re healthy, even life’s inevitable challenges become far easier to navigate.
This New Moon encourages you to invest first in your inner world.
That investment may involve strengthening family relationships.
It may mean creating a more peaceful home environment.
Perhaps you’re learning healthier emotional boundaries.
Or maybe you’re healing childhood wounds that continue influencing present-day decisions.
Sometimes the invitation is even simpler:
Recognize that genuine self-care isn’t selfish.
It’s the fertile soil from which your greatest contributions naturally grow.
Cancer understands something modern society often forgets:
You can’t sustainably give away what you haven’t first cultivated within yourself.
Cancer: The Sign of Emotional Foundations
Cancer is the first water sign of the zodiac.
Where Aries begins the journey of individual identity, Cancer begins the journey of emotional identity.
Its questions are deeply personal:
- Where do you feel safe?
- Who truly knows you?
- What nourishes your heart?
- What gives you a genuine sense of belonging?
- What emotional environment allows your authentic self to emerge?
These questions are far more consequential than they initially appear.
Many people unconsciously organize their entire lives around emotional survival strategies learned decades earlier.
Some seek constant achievement because praise once felt like the safest path to love.
Others avoid conflict because childhood taught them that peace depended upon pleasing everyone else.
Still others build emotional walls so high that genuine intimacy becomes nearly impossible.
Cancer gently illuminates these patterns—not to criticize them, but to help you understand them.
The goal isn’t to judge your emotional history.
It’s to become conscious enough to choose your future instead of automatically repeating your past.
The Seed of Inner Security
One of Cancer’s greatest gifts is its understanding that true security is ultimately an inside job.
External security certainly matters.
Healthy relationships matter.
Financial stability matters.
A comfortable home matters.
But Cancer recognizes that someone can possess every external comfort imaginable, yet still feel emotionally unsafe.
Conversely, a person with relatively modest circumstances can experience profound peace because they’ve cultivated an unshakable inner sense of belonging.
This New Moon encourages exactly that kind of cultivation.
It asks you to strengthen the internal roots that allow you to weather life’s changing seasons.
Just as a healthy tree survives storms because of the depth of its unseen root system, emotionally healthy people navigate uncertainty because they’ve developed inner resilience.
That resilience comes from learning to trust yourself.
It grows through honoring your feelings without becoming ruled by them.
It deepens as you learn to nurture yourself instead of waiting for others to provide what only you can consistently cultivate.
Cancer teaches that emotional maturity isn’t the absence of vulnerability.
It’s the ability to remain connected to your heart even while facing life’s inevitable uncertainties.
Home as an Inner Experience
Cancer traditionally governs home.
But home is far more than a physical location.
Home is a psychological state.
It’s the experience of feeling welcomed by your own heart.
Some people have beautiful houses but never truly feel at home within themselves.
Others carry a profound sense of home wherever they travel because they’ve cultivated inner stability.
This New Moon may certainly coincide with literal home-related developments.
You might move.
Renovate.
Reconnect with family.
Strengthen domestic relationships.
Or simply spend more time making your living space beautiful and comforting.
Those outer manifestations fit Cancer perfectly.
But the deeper invitation concerns your internal home.
Ask yourself:
- Do I speak to myself with kindness?
- Do I allow myself adequate rest?
- Have I created emotional habits that genuinely support my well-being?
- Am I building an inner environment where my authentic self feels safe enough to emerge?
These questions become especially important because Mercury sits directly beside this New Moon.
The home Cancer now seeks begins inside your own mind.
Memory, Ancestry, and Emotional Inheritance
Cancer is deeply connected with memory.
Not merely intellectual memory, but emotional memory.
The body remembers.
The heart remembers.
Old experiences quietly shape present expectations.
Some memories become treasured sources of wisdom.
Others become invisible prisons.
This New Moon often brings increased awareness of emotional inheritance.
Family patterns become easier to recognize.
You may notice recurring relationship dynamics.
Old emotional reactions may suddenly reveal their origins.
You may find yourself asking:
- Where did I learn this?
- Is this actually my belief?
- Am I responding to today’s situation—or to something much older?
These realizations aren’t about blame.
Cancer is less interested in assigning fault than in understanding continuity.
Every family passes along gifts as well as limitations.
Some inherit remarkable resilience.
Others inherit emotional caution.
Some inherit extraordinary compassion.
Others inherit patterns of anxiety, emotional suppression, or excessive caretaking.
This New Moon offers an opportunity to consciously preserve the healthiest parts of your inheritance while compassionately releasing what no longer serves your evolution.
That process isn’t rejection.
It’s refinement.
The Courage of Emotional Honesty
Cancer is sometimes misunderstood as passive or overly sentimental.
In reality, healthy Cancer possesses remarkable courage.
It takes tremendous strength to remain emotionally open in a world that often rewards emotional armor.
Cancer reminds us that genuine vulnerability isn’t weakness.
It’s the birthplace of intimacy.
Without emotional honesty:
- Relationships remain polite but shallow.
- Creative work becomes technically competent but emotionally sterile.
- Spiritual practice stays intellectual rather than transformative.
This New Moon promotes a different kind of courage.
Not the courage to dominate.
Not the courage to compete.
But the courage to honestly acknowledge what your heart has been trying to tell you.
Perhaps you’ve outgrown an old emotional identity.
Perhaps you’ve been minimizing your own needs.
Perhaps you’ve been caring for everyone except yourself.
Perhaps you’ve mistaken emotional self-protection for emotional health.
Cancer doesn’t ask you to abandon healthy boundaries.
It simply asks whether your boundaries are serving love—or merely protecting old fears.
Mercury Changes Everything

Ordinarily, Cancer experiences life primarily through feeling.
This New Moon, however, is tightly conjunct Mercury, creating a fascinating synthesis.
The emotional body and the thinking mind become unusually intertwined.
This isn’t simply a feeling-oriented New Moon.
Nor is it merely intellectual.
Instead, it creates a profound opportunity to understand your emotions without suppressing them—and to feel your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.
Instead of reacting automatically, Mercury introduces observation.
Instead of remaining trapped within familiar emotional narratives, Mercury begins asking questions.
Instead of endlessly replaying old stories, Mercury helps you rewrite them.
This is one of the most psychologically sophisticated signatures a Cancer New Moon can produce.
The goal isn’t to eliminate emotion.
It’s to become consciously partnered with it.
Your feelings become messengers rather than dictators.
Your thoughts become translators rather than critics.
Together, Cancer and Mercury invite you to cultivate emotional intelligence in its fullest sense—not merely recognizing feelings, but understanding them, naming them, learning from them, and ultimately allowing them to become trusted allies on your path of growth.
Giving Language to the Heart
This Moon–Mercury conjunction isn’t simply an extra influence added to an otherwise Cancerian New Moon.
It fundamentally changes how Cancer expresses itself.
Normally, Cancer experiences first and explains later.
Mercury encourages the reverse.
It invites you to bring conscious awareness into emotional experience so your feelings become something you can understand, communicate, and intentionally work with rather than simply react from.
This creates one of the greatest gifts of the entire lunation.
Instead of allowing old emotional habits to unconsciously direct your decisions, you have an opportunity to observe those habits with unusual clarity.
Understanding becomes the doorway to emotional freedom.
Giving Language to the Heart
Mercury governs perception, thinking, learning, communication, writing, conversation, teaching, analysis, curiosity, and the stories through which we organize our experience.
When Mercury joins a New Moon, every one of these Mercurial functions becomes part of the seed being planted.
The coming lunar cycle therefore supports new beginnings involving communication, learning, writing, speaking, teaching, planning, negotiation, decision-making, and mental reframing.
Because this conjunction occurs in Cancer, however, none of these activities remain purely intellectual.
Cancer asks deeper questions.
How can communication become more emotionally authentic?
How can thinking become more compassionate?
How can planning honor emotional realities rather than simply logical efficiency?
How can your words not merely persuade, but genuinely nurture?
How can understanding deepen authentic intimacy?
Cancer softens Mercury’s tendency toward detached analysis.
Mercury, in turn, helps Cancer avoid becoming overwhelmed by subjective feeling.
Each planet strengthens the other.
Cancer gives Mercury emotional wisdom.
Mercury gives Cancer conscious perspective.
Together, they create emotionally intelligent communication.
Rewriting Your Emotional Story
Every human being carries internal narratives.
Some empower us.
Others quietly limit us.
Many formed so early in life that we mistake them for objective reality.
Perhaps you’ve carried beliefs such as:
- I always have to take care of everyone.
- My needs don’t matter.
- I have to earn love.
- If I show vulnerability, I’ll get hurt.
Most of these stories weren’t deliberate conclusions.
They were emotional adaptations.
Children naturally create explanations that help them survive emotionally.
The problem is that these childhood explanations often continue operating decades later—even after they no longer reflect reality.
Cancer governs these deeply rooted emotional narratives because they usually originate within our earliest experiences of family, caregiving, belonging, and attachment.
Mercury now shines a light on them.
During this New Moon, you may experience surprising moments of realization.
A familiar trigger suddenly makes sense.
An old relationship pattern reveals its origin.
You notice yourself repeating the same story you’ve been telling for years.
Something you assumed was simply “the way I am” reveals itself as a learned emotional strategy.
These moments can be profoundly liberating.
Once unconscious patterns become conscious, they no longer possess the same invisible authority.
You gain the freedom to choose a different response.
Listening Before Speaking
Mercury normally emphasizes expression.
Cancer first emphasizes receptivity.
Together they encourage a different style of communication.
This isn’t a lunation for talking simply to fill silence.
It’s a time for listening deeply enough that your words naturally become more meaningful.
Cancer teaches that beneath every conversation lies another conversation.
People rarely argue only about the surface issue.
Beneath disagreements often lie deeper emotional needs.
The desire to feel respected.
The longing to feel safe.
The fear of abandonment.
The hope of being understood.
The need to belong.
Mercury in Cancer is especially good at hearing these deeper currents.
Instead of reacting only to someone’s words, you may intuitively perceive the emotions motivating them.
That capacity can transform relationships.
It can also enhance leadership, teaching, counseling, healing work, parenting, friendship, and even business.
People often remember far less of what you said than how you made them feel while saying it.
Cancer understands this instinctively.
Mercury helps you communicate in ways that genuinely reach the heart.
Emotional Intelligence as Spiritual Practice
Many people think of emotional intelligence primarily as a psychological skill.
Cancer reminds us that it’s also a spiritual practice.
Every emotional reaction presents an opportunity.
Will you become identified with the feeling?
Will you suppress it?
Or will you become curious about it?
Mercury encourages curiosity.
Instead of asking,
“Why am I feeling this?”
Mercury in Cancer asks:
- What is this feeling trying to protect?
- What deeper need is asking for attention?
- What old story is this emotion pointing toward?
- What wisdom does this experience contain?
Questions like these transform emotion from obstacle into teacher.
The goal isn’t emotional control.
Nor is it emotional indulgence.
It’s emotional relationship.
Healthy emotions become trusted advisors rather than unquestioned rulers.
Words Become Seeds
One of the most beautiful dimensions of Mercury’s conjunction with a New Moon is that words themselves become unusually creative.
Every New Moon plants seeds.
Mercury reminds us that language plants seeds too.
The stories you repeatedly tell yourself shape your expectations.
Your expectations influence your behavior.
Your behavior gradually creates your lived reality.
This doesn’t mean affirmations magically override every circumstance.
It means your internal dialogue profoundly influences how you perceive and respond to life.
During this New Moon, pay close attention to recurring phrases such as:
- I always…
- I never…
- People like me…
- That’s just how relationships are…
- I’m not the kind of person who…
These statements often reveal unconscious assumptions masquerading as facts.
Mercury invites gentle examination.
Is this objectively true?
Or has it simply become familiar?
Cancer adds another question:
Does this belief actually nourish me—or has it become part of an outdated emotional identity?
The stories that support your evolution deserve reinforcement.
The stories that perpetuate unnecessary suffering deserve compassionate revision.
Communication That Creates Safety
Because Cancer prioritizes emotional security, Mercury’s greatest gift here isn’t cleverness.
It’s trust.
People naturally open themselves when they feel emotionally safe.
That safety grows through:
- Consistency.
- Compassion.
- Attentive listening.
- Gentle honesty.
- Respectful curiosity.
- A willingness to understand before trying to persuade.
This New Moon therefore supports conversations that might otherwise feel intimidating.
Family discussions.
Relationship healing.
Apologies.
Forgiveness.
Heartfelt appreciation.
Clarifying misunderstandings.
Expressing needs that have remained unspoken.
Sharing dreams that previously felt too vulnerable to voice.
Cancer doesn’t ask you to avoid difficult conversations.
It asks you to conduct them in ways that preserve dignity while deepening connection.
Truth without compassion often creates defensiveness.
Compassion without truth creates stagnation.
Mercury in Cancer seeks the meeting place where honesty and kindness strengthen one another.
Best Uses of This Mercury Conjunction
This is one of the strongest New Moons of the year for beginning practices that combine reflection with communication.
Excellent possibilities include:
- Beginning a daily journaling practice that explores emotional patterns
- Writing letters of appreciation, reconciliation, or forgiveness
- Starting therapy or counseling
- Developing healthier communication habits within close relationships
- Beginning a podcast, newsletter, book, or creative project rooted in authentic personal experience
- Teaching from lived wisdom rather than abstract theory
- Recording family history before valuable memories disappear
- Having conversations you’ve postponed because they required vulnerability
- Creating rituals that strengthen emotional connection within your household
For coaches, healers, counselors, educators, and spiritual guides, this is an especially fertile lunation.
People will often respond more deeply to genuine emotional authenticity than to polished expertise alone.
The Shadow of Mercury in Cancer
Every planetary combination has potential pitfalls.
Mercury in Cancer can become overly influenced by emotion.
Thoughts may become colored by temporary moods.
You might assume someone intended harm when none existed.
Old emotional memories can distort present perception.
Conversations may become indirect because vulnerability feels risky.
There can also be a tendency to revisit familiar emotional stories without actually transforming them.
Instead of learning from the past, you simply relive it.
Mercury’s greatest gift—awareness—can become endless rumination if it isn’t balanced with conscious choice.
Whenever you notice yourself replaying the same emotional narrative, ask yourself:
Is this reflection helping me understand something new, or am I simply reinforcing an old emotional identity?
Mercury serves healing best when it creates insight—not when it endlessly recycles pain.
New Moon Square Pallas Athena

When Emotional Wisdom Meets Strategic Intelligence
The first square in this New Moon chart comes from Pallas Athena, creating one of the most intellectually fascinating dynamics of the entire lunation.
Pallas Athena represents strategic intelligence.
She recognizes patterns.
She sees systems.
She understands timing.
She solves problems by stepping back far enough to perceive the larger design.
Cancer, by contrast, experiences life from the inside out.
It values emotional immediacy, personal experience, instinct, and protective care.
The square isn’t asking you to choose one over the other.
It’s asking you to integrate them.
Cancer asks:
What feels right?
Pallas Athena asks:
What actually works?
Cancer asks:
What protects the people I love?
Pallas asks:
What creates the best long-term outcome?
These questions become extraordinarily powerful when answered together.
The tension arises because emotional reactions are often immediate, while strategic wisdom requires perspective.
This New Moon may reveal places where your emotional instincts are accurate, but your methods of responding need refinement.
Likewise, it may expose situations where a perfectly logical strategy has overlooked genuine human needs.
The highest expression of this aspect isn’t emotional impulsiveness or cold calculation.
It’s compassionate strategy.
Wisdom guided by the heart.
Intelligence placed in service of genuine care.
Seeing the Larger Pattern
One of Pallas Athena’s greatest gifts is pattern recognition.
She doesn’t become lost in isolated events.
She asks:
What larger pattern is this situation revealing?
Cancer naturally experiences life through individual moments.
One painful conversation can temporarily color an entire day.
One loving interaction can restore hope.
Cancer honors immediate emotional experience.
Pallas expands the perspective.
She reminds you that no single conversation defines an entire relationship.
No isolated disappointment determines your future.
No single emotional reaction fully describes who you are.
Instead, she encourages you to notice recurring themes.
Perhaps you’ve repeatedly attracted similar partners.
Maybe certain workplace dynamics repeat.
Perhaps family interactions follow familiar emotional scripts.
Or maybe your own reactions consistently arise under similar circumstances.
Cancer helps you feel these patterns.
Pallas helps you understand them.
That distinction is transformative.
Until patterns become visible, they usually remain unconscious.
Once they become visible, they become available for conscious choice.
Emotional Pattern Recognition
Most emotional growth doesn’t happen because life suddenly changes.
It happens because your perception changes.
Imagine someone who has spent years believing they always end up rescuing people.
Before this New Moon, they might view every relationship as unique.
“This person simply needed help.”
“That situation was different.”
“It just happened again.”
Pallas Athena steps back.
She sees that multiple isolated experiences actually form one recurring pattern.
Cancer then asks an even deeper question:
What emotional need has this pattern been serving?
Perhaps rescuing others created a sense of worth.
Perhaps caretaking felt safer than expressing personal needs.
Perhaps being indispensable became confused with being loved.
Suddenly the pattern is no longer mysterious.
It becomes understandable.
And understanding opens the door to transformation.
This is why Pallas Athena is such a valuable ally for Cancer.
She helps emotional experience become conscious wisdom.
Responding Instead of Reacting
Cancer’s instincts are often remarkably accurate.
It senses emotional undercurrents long before they become obvious.
The challenge is that emotional awareness alone doesn’t always determine the wisest response.
For example, you may correctly sense tension in a relationship.
Your feeling isn’t wrong.
What happens next matters enormously.
Fear might encourage withdrawal.
Habit might trigger defensiveness.
Old conditioning may push you toward people-pleasing.
Pallas asks a different question:
Given what I now understand, what response best serves everyone’s highest good?
Notice the difference.
Cancer identifies the emotional reality.
Pallas determines the wisest strategy.
When these two work together, emotional intelligence becomes practical wisdom.
Instead of reacting from old habits, you begin responding from conscious choice.
Compassion Needs Strategy
Many deeply caring people assume love alone solves problems.
Cancer certainly understands love.
Pallas reminds us that love without wisdom can unintentionally reinforce unhealthy dynamics.
Sometimes helping someone actually delays their growth.
Sometimes avoiding conflict creates greater conflict later.
Sometimes protecting another person prevents them from developing necessary resilience.
Conversely, strategy without compassion becomes sterile.
A perfectly efficient solution may completely overlook emotional realities.
A conversation may be logically flawless while leaving another person feeling unseen.
Neither extreme serves lasting healing.
This New Moon therefore encourages the marriage of heart and wisdom.
Let compassion determine your intention.
Let strategy shape your execution.
That combination becomes remarkably effective.
Your Emotional Ecosystem
Pallas also encourages systems thinking.
Instead of viewing emotional experiences in isolation, she asks you to consider the ecosystem they create.
Every habit influences other habits.
Every relationship affects others.
Every belief shapes countless decisions.
Suppose you begin practicing healthier emotional boundaries.
Initially, that seems like one simple change.
Yet healthier boundaries often improve sleep.
Improved sleep enhances emotional regulation.
Better emotional regulation strengthens communication.
Improved communication deepens relationships.
Healthier relationships reduce stress.
Reduced stress improves physical health.
One intentional adjustment begins reshaping an entire system.
Cancer nurtures the individual plants.
Pallas understands the entire garden.
This New Moon supports both perspectives simultaneously.
Creative Intelligence
Pallas Athena is also associated with creative problem solving.
She excels when ordinary solutions no longer work.
This harmonizes beautifully with Cancer’s imagination.
Together they ask:
- How might this challenge be approached differently?
- Is there another conversation that needs to happen?
- Is there another perspective that changes everything?
- Have you been trying to solve an emotional problem using methods that no longer fit who you’ve become?
Many breakthroughs during this lunation won’t come from forcing answers.
They’ll come from recognizing patterns that suddenly become obvious once you stop looking only at individual events.
The insight often arrives quietly.
One realization reorganizes everything that came before it.
The Shadow of Pallas Athena
Every gift carries potential distortions.
Pallas can become overly analytical.
She may try to solve every emotional experience intellectually.
Cancer reminds her that not every feeling requires immediate explanation.
Sometimes healing begins by simply allowing yourself to feel.
Conversely, Cancer can become so immersed in immediate emotion that larger patterns disappear from view.
Pallas restores perspective.
The healthiest expression of this square asks you to avoid two extremes:
Don’t analyze yourself so much that you stop feeling.
And don’t feel so intensely that you stop learning.
Wisdom emerges where heart and understanding meet.
New Moon Square Vesta

What Truly Deserves Your Heart?
The second major square comes from Vesta, introducing one of the most spiritually significant dimensions of this New Moon.
Vesta represents devotion, sacred focus, consecration, and the tending of an inner flame.
She asks a deceptively simple question:
What deserves your wholehearted commitment?
Cancer immediately recognizes the importance of this question.
After all, emotional energy is one of your most precious resources.
You can’t nurture everything equally.
You can’t protect everyone equally.
You can’t devote yourself wholeheartedly to every opportunity, relationship, request, or distraction.
Something must become central.
Vesta asks you to choose consciously.
The Sacred Hearth
In ancient Rome, Vesta guarded the sacred flame that symbolized the continuity of the community itself.
If the fire went out, something essential had been lost.
That symbolism fits beautifully with Cancer.
Cancer governs the home.
Vesta governs the sacred hearth.
Both remind us that certain inner fires require continual tending.
Love requires attention.
Relationships require presence.
Spiritual practice requires consistency.
Creative work requires sustained devotion.
Emotional healing requires patience.
These qualities can’t simply be wished into existence.
They grow because you repeatedly return to them.
This New Moon asks:
What flame have you neglected while giving your energy elsewhere?
Perhaps you’ve become so busy fulfilling responsibilities that you’ve forgotten to nourish your own emotional well-being.
Perhaps you’ve been endlessly productive while quietly drifting away from joy.
Or perhaps you’ve remained available to everyone else while neglecting the relationships that matter most.
Vesta gently redirects your attention—not toward guilt, but toward alignment.
Emotional Priorities
Cancer naturally wants to care.
Sometimes it wants to care for everyone.
Vesta introduces discernment.
She reminds you that trying to nurture everything often results in nurturing nothing particularly well.
This New Moon encourages healthy emotional prioritization.
Not every request deserves equal attention.
Not every obligation deserves equal emotional investment.
Not every conversation deserves your deepest energy.
This may initially feel uncomfortable, especially if you’ve learned to equate love with constant availability.
Vesta teaches that true devotion always involves choice.
Whenever you say yes to one commitment, you’re automatically saying no to something else.
The real question is this:
Are your choices reflecting your deepest values—or merely your oldest habits?
The Inner Sanctuary
Cancer governs the home.
Vesta governs the temple.
Together they suggest that your emotional life itself can become sacred space.
Imagine approaching your thoughts with greater reverence.
Your relationships with greater intentionality.
Your home with greater presence.
Your spiritual practice with greater consistency.
Instead of asking,
“How can I fit self-care into my schedule?”
you begin asking,
“How can I organize my life around what truly nourishes my soul?”
That subtle shift changes everything.
Once emotional nourishment becomes foundational rather than optional, many other areas of life naturally improve.
This New Moon supports exactly that kind of reorganization.
Not through dramatic external upheaval, but through quiet, profound realignment.
When Devotion Becomes Distraction
The square indicates that this process won’t always feel effortless.
Vesta often reveals places where sincere devotion has quietly become imbalanced.
Perhaps you’ve become:
- So devoted to work that family suffers.
- So devoted to caregiving that self-care disappears.
- So devoted to spiritual study that embodied living receives too little attention.
- So devoted to maintaining peace that authentic communication becomes impossible.
Cancer doesn’t ask you to abandon devotion.
It asks whether your devotion is genuinely nurturing life—or simply preserving familiar patterns.
Sometimes the most loving choice isn’t to give more.
Sometimes it’s to give differently.
This New Moon invites exactly that kind of sacred discernment.
New Moon Square Eris

The Truth That Refuses to Stay Hidden
By now, a clear picture has emerged.
Cancer has asked you to cultivate healthier emotional foundations.
Mercury has encouraged you to understand—and consciously rewrite—the stories through which those foundations were built.
Pallas Athena has challenged you to recognize larger patterns instead of simply reacting to isolated events.
Vesta has asked what truly deserves your emotional devotion.
Now Eris enters the picture.
If Cancer builds the home, Eris asks whether that home has been built upon truth.
Emotional Honesty
Few asteroids are as misunderstood as Eris.
She’s often described as bringing conflict or discord.
That captures only the surface.
At her highest expression, Eris exposes what has been excluded in order to preserve a false appearance of harmony.
She notices inconvenient truths.
She asks uncomfortable questions.
She refuses to allow superficial peace to substitute for authentic wholeness.
This makes her especially powerful in a Cancer New Moon.
Cancer values belonging, family, connection, and emotional safety.
Those are beautiful qualities.
But they also carry a shadow.
Sometimes belonging comes at the price of authenticity.
Sometimes families avoid difficult conversations for decades.
Sometimes relationships remain superficially peaceful only because important truths remain unspoken.
Sometimes emotional security quietly becomes emotional stagnation.
Eris refuses to cooperate with those compromises.
Protecting or Avoiding?
Cancer protects.
Eris reveals.
Cancer says,
“Let’s keep everyone emotionally safe.”
Eris asks,
“Safe from what?”
Sometimes we’re protecting people from genuine harm.
Other times we’re protecting ourselves from necessary conversations.
The difference matters enormously.
This square may expose emotional dynamics that have quietly operated beneath the surface for years.
Perhaps resentment has never been openly discussed.
Perhaps grief has never been fully expressed.
Perhaps family roles have become so fixed that no one questions them anymore.
Perhaps you’ve continued honoring expectations that no longer reflect who you’ve become.
Eris doesn’t expose these things to create chaos.
She exposes them because healing can’t occur while important truths remain hidden.
The Courage to Disturb False Peace
One of Cancer’s most admirable qualities is its desire to preserve emotional harmony.
Unfortunately, harmony and avoidance aren’t the same thing.
Many people confuse them.
Real harmony grows from honesty.
False harmony grows from silence.
This New Moon helps distinguish between the two.
You may notice situations where you’ve been keeping peace externally while sacrificing peace internally.
You smile.
You accommodate.
You avoid conflict.
Yet inside, something remains unresolved.
Eventually, the emotional cost becomes too great.
Eris represents that moment.
Not necessarily an explosion.
More often, it’s a quiet realization:
“I can’t keep pretending this isn’t affecting me.”
That realization marks the beginning of authentic healing.
Healing Family Narratives
Because Cancer rules ancestry and family systems, Eris often works through inherited emotional stories.
Every family develops narratives.
Examples include:
- We don’t talk about that.
- We always put others first.
- Strong people don’t cry.
- You shouldn’t make waves.
- Our family handles things privately.
Some of these traditions carry tremendous wisdom.
Others quietly perpetuate unnecessary suffering.
This New Moon encourages compassionate examination rather than automatic acceptance.
Not every inherited belief deserves to be passed to the next generation.
Not every emotional habit deserves lifelong loyalty.
Honoring your ancestors doesn’t require repeating every pattern they handed down.
Sometimes the greatest way to honor previous generations is to complete healing they couldn’t do.
Cancer cherishes the lineage.
Eris helps evolve it.
Speaking Difficult Truths Wisely
Mercury’s conjunction with the New Moon becomes especially important here.
Without Mercury, Eris might simply disrupt.
Mercury introduces discernment.
The goal isn’t to say everything that comes to mind.
Nor is it to avoid difficult conversations.
Instead, this New Moon asks:
Can truth be spoken in service of healing rather than victory?
Can honesty deepen relationship instead of merely winning an argument?
Can difficult conversations become acts of love?
Cancer naturally wants to protect relationships.
Eris insists that those relationships become authentic.
Mercury provides the language that allows both goals to coexist.
The Shadow of Eris
The lower expression of Eris isn’t truth.
It’s identification with conflict.
Some people become attached to outrage.
Others mistake perpetual disruption for courage.
Still others believe that being brutally honest automatically makes them spiritually evolved.
It doesn’t.
Truth without compassion easily becomes aggression.
Cancer continually reminds Eris of this.
At the same time, Cancer’s shadow is emotional avoidance.
So these two archetypes balance each other beautifully.
Cancer softens Eris.
Eris strengthens Cancer.
Together they create courageous compassion.
New Moon Semi-Square Venus

When Comfort and Growth Collide
The Venus semi-square isn’t as powerful as the chart’s major squares, but it contributes an important undercurrent.
Venus governs relationships, affection, pleasure, beauty, money, self-worth, and shared values.
The semi-square suggests subtle friction rather than major conflict.
You may notice small but persistent discomforts.
Perhaps a conversation feels slightly awkward.
A financial decision raises questions about self-worth.
A relationship gently reveals that old patterns no longer fit.
Creative work feels ready for refinement rather than complete reinvention.
Because this occurs within a Cancer New Moon, the emphasis falls less upon external events than upon emotional needs.
Do your closest relationships genuinely nourish you?
Have you confused caretaking with intimacy?
Do you consistently value your own emotional needs as highly as those of others?
Cancer reminds you that receiving care is every bit as important as offering it.
Healthy nurturing flows in both directions.
Self-Worth Begins at Home
Venus also governs personal value.
Cancer asks where that value originates.
Many people unconsciously seek emotional security through praise, recognition, affection, approval, or external validation.
While all of these experiences are meaningful, none of them provide lasting stability if inner self-worth remains underdeveloped.
This New Moon gently shifts the center of gravity inward.
Instead of asking,
“Do others appreciate me?”
Cancer and Venus together ask,
“Have I learned to appreciate myself?”
That subtle shift creates far greater emotional resilience.
External appreciation becomes something to enjoy—not something you require for emotional survival.
New Moon Semi-Square Uranus

Quiet Breakthroughs
The semi-square to Uranus introduces gentle but persistent evolutionary pressure.
Unlike the more dramatic Uranus aspects that produce sudden upheaval, this one often works through quiet restlessness.
Something simply doesn’t fit anymore.
A familiar habit begins to feel confining.
An old belief quietly loses its emotional authority.
A new possibility refuses to disappear.
Cancer may initially resist this process because it naturally prefers familiar emotional territory.
Uranus gently asks whether familiarity has quietly become limitation.
This doesn’t necessarily require dramatic external change.
Often the greatest breakthrough happens internally.
One old assumption dissolves.
One emotional habit loses its grip.
One conversation changes the direction of a relationship.
Small shifts eventually produce profound transformation.
Freedom Through Emotional Maturity
People often associate freedom with external independence.
Uranus expands that definition.
Real freedom also includes liberation from unconscious emotional conditioning.
The freedom to stop repeating inherited family patterns.
The freedom to express your feelings honestly.
The freedom to establish healthier boundaries.
The freedom to nurture yourself without guilt.
The freedom to choose conscious responses instead of automatic reactions.
Cancer provides the emotional depth.
Uranus provides the courage to evolve.
Together, they support emotionally liberated authenticity.
Venus and Uranus Together
Taken together, these two semi-squares create a beautiful developmental tension.
Venus asks:
What do I truly value?
Uranus asks:
What needs to change?
Cancer asks:
What genuinely nourishes my heart?
As these questions begin working together, you naturally reorganize your life around authentic emotional well-being.
Your relationships become healthier because they’re more honest.
Your creativity becomes richer because it’s more authentic.
Your financial decisions become wiser because they’re aligned with genuine values rather than emotional compensation.
Nothing here requires dramatic revolution.
Instead, this New Moon invites quiet realignment.
And quiet realignment often proves far more enduring.
One Integrated Story
Seen as a whole, this New Moon tells a remarkably coherent story.
Cancer invites you inward.
Mercury helps you understand what you discover there.
Pallas Athena reveals the larger emotional patterns shaping your life.
Vesta asks you to devote your energy to what truly matters.
Eris exposes the truths authentic healing requires.
Venus encourages healthier self-worth and more conscious relationships.
Uranus helps liberate you from emotional habits that no longer support your growth.
Notice how every planetary influence contributes to the same developmental process.
Nothing here feels random.
Every aspect serves one larger purpose:
Create healthier emotional foundations from which your future can naturally unfold.
This New Moon isn’t about chasing external achievement.
It’s about strengthening the invisible architecture that supports every future achievement.
Just as a builder carefully prepares the foundation before constructing a home, this lunation encourages patient inner work before rushing toward visible results.
That patience isn’t delay.
It’s preparation.
And preparation dramatically increases the likelihood that what you build next will prove stable, authentic, and deeply fulfilling.
The Spiritual Opportunity
At its deepest level, this New Moon teaches that emotional maturity isn’t achieved by becoming less sensitive.
It’s achieved by becoming more conscious of your sensitivity.
Cancer says:
Honor your heart.
Mercury says:
Understand it.
Pallas says:
See the larger pattern.
Vesta says:
Protect what’s sacred.
Eris says:
Tell the deeper truth.
Venus says:
Know your worth.
Uranus says:
Free yourself from outdated emotional conditioning.
Together they offer one profound invitation:
Become the safe home your heart has always been seeking.
Once you begin creating that inner sanctuary, everything else begins changing naturally.
Your relationships become healthier because they’re no longer expected to provide what only your own soul can consistently supply.
Your work becomes more authentic because it grows from emotional wholeness rather than emotional compensation.
Your spiritual life deepens because it becomes embodied rather than merely conceptual.
Everything else naturally follows.
Best Uses of This New Moon
This is an exceptionally favorable lunation for:
- Beginning therapy, coaching, or deep inner healing work.
- Starting a journaling or reflective writing practice.
- Healing family relationships through honest, compassionate communication.
- Creating healthier emotional boundaries.
- Deepening your meditation or spiritual practice.
- Building stronger emotional foundations at home.
- Beginning a creative project rooted in authentic personal experience.
- Releasing inherited beliefs that no longer support your evolution.
- Clarifying what—and who—deserves your deepest emotional investment.
- Setting intentions that strengthen inner security instead of seeking external validation.
Shadow Expressions to Watch
The primary challenges include:
- Retreating into emotional defensiveness instead of honest vulnerability.
- Overthinking your feelings rather than learning from them.
- Repeating old family narratives without questioning them.
- Devoting energy to obligations that no longer align with your deepest values.
- Mistaking conflict avoidance for harmony.
- Seeking approval instead of cultivating genuine self-worth.
- Resisting necessary emotional change because familiarity feels safer.
- Using truth as a weapon rather than as a bridge toward healing.
Each shadow contains the seeds of its own transformation.
Awareness itself begins the healing process.
Bottom Line
The July 14 Cancer New Moon marks the beginning of a profoundly restorative emotional cycle.
Rather than encouraging outward ambition alone, it invites you to strengthen the inner foundations that support every area of your life.
Through Mercury, you gain greater understanding of your emotional world.
Through Pallas Athena, you recognize larger patterns that have quietly shaped your experience.
Through Vesta, you recommit yourself to what is genuinely sacred.
Through Eris, you find the courage to acknowledge the truths authentic healing requires.
Venus reminds you that healthy relationships begin with healthy self-worth.
Uranus gently liberates you from emotional habits that no longer reflect who you’re becoming.
Ultimately, this is a New Moon about coming home.
Coming home to your heart.
Coming home to your deepest values.
Coming home to a life built not upon fear or old conditioning, but upon emotional wisdom, authentic connection, and compassionate truth.
Plant those seeds now.
They have every opportunity to grow into something that nourishes both you and everyone your life touches.
Coming Next
Although the Uranus–Neptune sextile technically perfects on July 15, the final day of this forecast period, I’m saving that aspect for the next installment. That will focus on the extraordinary series of six aspects between Jupiter and the “gods of change” that unfold between July 15 and July 25.
During that remarkable period we’ll explore:
- Uranus sextile Neptune
- Uranus trine Pluto
- Jupiter trine Neptune
- Jupiter opposite Pluto
- Jupiter sextile Uranus
- Neptune sextile Pluto
Together, these aspects form a harmonious Cradle pattern.
I’m genuinely excited to share that episode with you. These alignments may represent the most powerful astrology of our lives!
The third July forecast will cover everything else occurring during the second half of the month, including the Sun’s aspects to the gods of change, Saturn stationing retrograde, Mercury stationing direct, and a richly aspected Aquarius Full Moon.
If ever there were a month to pay close attention to the astrology, this is it!
