A potent Venus retrograde highlights the first nine days of October. We also have an intense Mars-Pluto opposition, a Sun-Saturn opposition, and an energizing Mars-Uranus sextile.
Two aspect patterns also remain active. A Mars-Neptune-Pluto-Sedna Cradle peaks on October 2, while overlapping Mercury-Mars T-squares with Chiron and Pluto continue through October 5.
I’m about to temporarily relocate from Asheville, North Carolina to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Making this transition is taking a huge amount of time and energy, so I’m doing the October 1-15 forecast in two parts.
This part covers October 1 through 9. Part 2, which I’ll publish before October 10, will feature the Libra New Moon, Venus square Mars, and Pluto turning direct.
The written forecast is a highly condensed version of my video and podcast. The written forecast gives you a brief summary of the most important points, while the video and podcast give you the full depth and nuance of my interpretations.

October 2: Mars Trine Neptune
Mars trines Neptune (2°48′ Leo-Aries), blending decisive action with intuition, imagination, and spiritual sensitivity. With Mars in Leo, this energy becomes more confident, creative, expressive, and heartfelt.
You may feel inspired to act on a vision, follow your heart, or bring greater passion to creative work. This aspect can also support leadership, healing, and spiritual practice.
Mars trine Neptune favors acting from inspiration rather than force. It can help you combine courage with compassion and personal passion with a larger sense of purpose. Bold self-expression can be directed by subtle inner guidance.
The main caution is idealizing your motives or expecting inspiration alone to produce results. Let intuition guide you, but support it with practical action.
Through October 6: Cradle with Mars, Neptune, Pluto & Sedna

In my previous forecast, I interpreted two overlapping aspect patterns involving Neptune, Pluto, and Sedna. The Sun-Neptune-Pluto-Sedna Kite completed its run on September 29, hopefully leaving you with greater insight and a clearer sense of what needs to change.
Now the Mars-Neptune-Pluto-Sedna Cradle shifts the emphasis from realization to action. It continues through October 6 and peaks on October 2.
Mars supplies courage, initiative, and momentum. Neptune can inspire compassionate or spiritually guided action, while Pluto adds focus and transformational power. Sedna brings deeper instinct, resilience, and a longer evolutionary perspective.
This is an excellent time to act on recent realizations. You can release an old pattern, reclaim energy tied up in the past, and move toward something more authentic and empowered.
The main caution is distinguishing inspired action from compulsion, intuition from projection, and genuine empowerment from forcing an outcome.
The Kite helped you see more clearly. Now the Cradle helps you act on what you see.
Through October 5: Mercury-Mars T-Squares With Chiron and Pluto

I also interpreted two overlapping T-squares in my previous forecast. Mercury and Mars remain energized by Chiron and Pluto through October 5, with the strongest power September 29 through October 2.
These T-squares create a charged atmosphere around communication, decisions, conflict, and action.
Chiron can make disagreements emotionally sensitive and bring old wounds to the surface. But this also creates opportunities for healing through honest, thoughtful communication.
Pluto adds intensity and can expose hidden motives, resentment, or power struggles. It can also reveal deeper truths that need to be addressed.
You can benefit from greater mental sharpness, courage, and strategic thinking. But impatience or impulsiveness can escalate conflict. Slow down enough to recognize what’s being triggered. What initially appears to be a confrontation may reveal where healing or fundamental change is needed.
At their highest expression, these T-squares can support a breakthrough conversation, a courageous decision, or the healing of an old wound. They can also help you confront something you have avoided, solve a difficult problem, and take decisive action that creates meaningful transformation.
October 3: Venus Turns Retrograde in Scorpio

Venus stations retrograde at 3:16 a.m. EDT on October 3 (8°29′ Scorpio). She remains retrograde until November 13, when she stations direct around 23° Libra.
But the larger Venus retrograde cycle began when Venus entered her shadow on August 31. She will not leave that shadow until December 15. So situations developing since late August may be part of a story that takes several months to fully unfold.
Venus retrograde initiates a major reevaluation of relationships, money, and values. It also invites you to reconsider pleasure, creativity, and self-worth.
The central question is: What do you truly value once you strip away superficial desires, attachment, and fear, as well as habits and social expectations?
Venus retrograde turns your attention inward. Your desires may change. Something you once wanted may lose its appeal, while former lovers, friends, or creative projects may return. Financial situations from the past can also reappear.
These returns don’t necessarily mean they belong in your future. Sometimes something comes back so you can understand it more deeply and bring it to completion.
Rather than simply asking, “Do I still want this?” also ask, “Why do I want this, and does it reflect who I want to become?”
Venus Retrograde in Scorpio
Venus backpedals through Scorpio until October 25.
Scorpio emphasizes emotional honesty, intimacy, and loyalty, along with sexuality, trust, and shared resources. Questions of power can also become prominent.
Jealousy can reveal insecurity. Possessiveness can expose fear of abandonment. Financial tensions may uncover deeper issues involving dependence, control, fairness, or trust.
But Venus in Scorpio can also support profound healing. You may understand recurring relationship patterns more clearly, recognize what lies beneath powerful attractions, and distinguish genuine intimacy from emotional intensity.
Venus, Mars, and Pluto: An Intense T-Square

Venus turns retrograde only hours before Mars opposes Pluto (3°6′ Leo-Aquarius). Venus is also moving into a developing fixed-sign T-square with Mars and Pluto.
This greatly intensifies the Venus station.
Attraction, sexuality, and anger can carry powerful emotional charges. Money and jealousy may also become highly activated, together with issues involving boundaries, loyalty, and control.
But intensity can be revealing. Emotionally charged situations can expose unconscious patterns that are ready to change.
Avoid manipulation, coercion, and revenge, along with obsessive thinking and unnecessary escalation.
Intensity is information. It does not have to become destructive.
October 6: Mercury Conjunct Retrograde Venus

Mercury conjoins retrograde Venus around 8° Scorpio on October 6, making buried feelings easier to express.
Important conversations can arise around relationships, money, and trust. Sexuality and emotional needs can also become important topics.
Old information may surface, or an unresolved discussion may return.
Listen carefully. Pay particular attention to the difference between genuine intuition and suspicion or projection.
Important Venus Retrograde Turning Points
Several upcoming aspects will help unfold the Venus retrograde story.

Venus squares Mars on October 10, generating passion, chemistry, and creativity. It can also produce sexual energy and relationship friction. Differences between what you and someone else want may become difficult to ignore.
This aspect can help you distinguish chemistry from compatibility. Creative work can also benefit from the extra courage and energy.

Venus first squared Pluto on September 15. She squares Pluto again while retrograde on October 20, then makes her final square on December 9.
September may have introduced an issue. October can take you into the heart of it, while December can bring resolution or integration.
Relationships, money, attachment, and power dynamics can reveal what you are afraid to lose. They can also help you recognize whether an attachment reflects love or fear.
October 23: The Venus Star Point

The Sun conjuncts retrograde Venus on October 23 at 11:44 p.m. EDT, at 0°45′ Scorpio. This Venus Star Point begins a new Venus cycle.
The true nature of a relationship may become clearer. Your priorities might shift. You could realize that you no longer want something you have been pursuing, or rediscover something valuable that has been buried.
Treat this as a seed point. Its meaning may unfold gradually.
October 25: Venus Retrogrades Into Libra

Venus retrogrades into Libra on October 25, shifting the emphasis from Scorpio’s emotional depth toward balance, reciprocity, and cooperation. Questions involving compromise and fairness become more prominent.
Are both people giving and receiving? Are compromises mutually beneficial? Relationships and agreements may need renegotiation.
You may also reconsider your appearance, artistic direction, or branding, along with other expressions of beauty.
Existing partnerships can deepen through greater honesty. People from the past may return for reconciliation or closure.
Money, Creativity, and Self-Worth
Financially, Venus retrograde is useful for reviewing spending, pricing, and debts. Investments, agreements, and shared resources also deserve another look. Major financial decisions deserve extra reflection when emotions are running high.
Creative interests may rekindle. An abandoned project can suddenly feel exciting again, or your artistic values may shift.
Venus retrograde can also reveal where your self-worth has become dependent on being desired, successful, or attractive, along with being financially secure.
Your worth is not determined by someone else choosing you. Knowing your worth regardless of what anyone else thinks changes what you choose.
Venus Retrograde: The Bottom Line
Venus retrograde in Scorpio and Libra asks you to become more conscious of why you love, spend, create, and connect.
Relationships can reveal hidden emotional patterns. Money can clarify your priorities. Desire can expose unmet needs.
Old attractions and wounds may return. Creative possibilities can also resurface.
The Mars-Pluto opposition makes this Venus retrograde unusually intense, but that intensity can give you valuable insight. Pay attention to what becomes emotionally charged, what returns, and what no longer feels worth the price you are paying.
By the end of this cycle, you can have a much clearer understanding of what — and who — truly deserves your love, energy, money, and commitment.
October 3: Mars Opposite Pluto

Mars opposes Pluto (3°6′ Leo-Aquarius) on October 3.
This exceptionally intense aspect can amplify drive, ambition, and sexuality. Anger and the desire to take decisive action can also become much stronger.
The central tension can involve personal will and self-expression versus the power of groups, systems, or collective forces.
Mars in Leo wants to act boldly, creatively, and from the heart. Pluto in Aquarius can expose deeper power dynamics involving communities, organizations, and technology, along with friendships and social structures.
You may feel strongly compelled to stand your ground or assert your individuality, especially if you feel controlled, ignored, or pressured to conform.
This opposition can trigger power struggles. Attempts to dominate, manipulate, or force an outcome can provoke equally powerful resistance.
Suppressed anger may surface dramatically. Pluto intensifies whatever it touches, so relatively small disagreements can become much bigger if they connect with deeper issues involving control, pride, or resentment. Fear can also amplify the reaction.
But at its highest expression, Mars opposite Pluto offers tremendous concentrated power. It can help you confront something you’ve been avoiding, break through a stubborn obstacle, or pursue an important goal with extraordinary determination.
Physical activity and focused creative work can provide constructive outlets. Psychological healing and courageous action can also make excellent use of this enormous energy.
The key is power without coercion. Rather than trying to dominate circumstances or other people, use this intensity to transform your own behavior and take decisive action where you have genuine authority.
Mars in Leo asks you to act courageously from your authentic center, while Pluto in Aquarius challenges you to recognize how your actions interact with forces larger than yourself.
Used unconsciously, Mars opposite Pluto can produce conflict, obsession, and battles over control. Used consciously, it offers exceptional courage, stamina, focus, and transformational power.
October 4: Sun Opposite Saturn
The Sun opposes Saturn (11°18′ Libra-Aries) on October 4. This aspect can highlight responsibility, commitment, and structure. Long-term goals may also demand greater attention.
You may become more aware of limits, obligations, or areas where additional discipline is needed. But this can help you get clearer about what’s truly worth your time and energy.
Used positively, this opposition supports maturity, perseverance, and realistic planning. It can also help you establish stronger boundaries. You can refine your priorities, take responsibility for an important goal, and turn determination into tangible progress.
Challenges that arise can reveal exactly where greater structure or patience can create lasting results.
October 7: Mars Sextile Uranus
Mars sextiles Uranus (5°24′ Leo-Gemini) on October 7. This energizing aspect blends initiative, courage, and innovation.
You can experiment, break out of routines, or take a calculated risk that gives you greater freedom. This aspect supports quick thinking and decisive action, especially when circumstances change unexpectedly.
It can be excellent for trying a new approach, working with technology, or creatively solving problems. It can also help you act on an intuitive flash.
Because the sextile is generally cooperative, change is more likely to feel exciting than disruptive. The key is staying flexible and using this surge of energy constructively rather than becoming restless or impulsive.
With Mars in Leo, this sextile becomes especially expressive, confident, and creatively daring. You may feel a strong urge to stand out, take the lead, or act on something that feels personally exciting and authentic.
Mars in Leo adds courage, passion, and dramatic flair, while Uranus encourages originality and freedom. This can support creative breakthroughs, entrepreneurial moves, and bold self-expression.
The main caution is pride or impulsive risk-taking. Used consciously, Mars sextile Uranus can help you act with confidence, originality, and courage!
