Aries Energy Carryover

Aries Glyph RED 720x377As we start May, we still have a lot of Aries energy continuing.

Most specifically, Mercury and Mars are still in Aries, as are Saturn, Pallas Athena, Chiron, Neptune, and Eris. So there’s still lots of Aries energy—lots of gung-ho, getting-started momentum following that Aries New Moon.

That’s the energetic backdrop for everything we’re discussing.

May 1: Scorpio Full Moon

2026 05 01 Full Moon All Planets

The first major event of May is the Scorpio Full Moon on May 1st at 1:23 PM, at 11°20′ Scorpio.

In general, any Full Moon is a time of:

  • Release and adjustment
  • Illumination (the brightest night phase)
  • Awareness of progress
  • A peak or fulfillment point

It’s a moment where you can clearly see where you are, then make adjustments.

The Nature of Scorpio

Scorpio adds its own powerful layer.

Scorpio, often maligned and misunderstood, can actually be one of the most rewarding signs. It’s about deep, uncompromising transformation.

It helps you:

  • Face what you no longer need
  • Release outdated patterns
  • Transform what still has potential
  • Evolve into something new

This is not surface-level change. This is death-and-rebirth-level transformation.

The Chrysalis Metaphor

A classic metaphor for Scorpio is the caterpillar.

It spins a chrysalis and dissolves into goo. It might seem that all is lost. But somehow, the caterpillar emerges as a butterfly!

If you try to help the butterfly emerge, it won’t survive. The struggle is necessary. The effort builds the strength required for its new form.

Scorpio works the same way. Transformation requires effort, and sometimes challenge. But that’s what gives you the strength to become your next best version of yourself!

Working With Scorpio Energy

People who are strong in the eighth astrology archetype (Scorpio, Pluto or the 8th house) often experience many major life transformations.

  • Those who resist change tend to suffer more.
  • Those who embrace transformation evolve more quickly and gracefully.

A powerful Scorpio Full Moon strategy:

“I release everything that does not serve the highest good.”

This can include:

  • Objects
  • Relationships
  • Situations
  • Beliefs
  • Aspects of self

The more you release, the more harmoniously you align with Scorpio energy.

Shadow Work

Scorpio energy naturally brings up shadow work.

Shadow work begins when:

  • Emotional challenges arise
  • Old wounds or trauma surface

Most people avoid this. Western culture doesn’t typically teach us how to to work with it well. But if you face it skillfully, transformation becomes possible.

Carl Jung introduced the concept of shadow work to the modern world. The idea is simple:

  • If something stays hidden, it controls you from the shadows.
  • If you bring awareness to it, it can be transformed or released.

Jung said that when you do shadow work, you uncover buried gold.

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)

This also connects to Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).

The idea:

  • You have “parts” within you
  • These parts are inherently good
  • Trauma distorts their behavior

When you:

  • Unburden the wounded part
  • Reintegrate it

You reclaim:

  • Joy
  • Vitality
  • Talents

A Simple Shadow Work Method

If something is triggered:

  1. Feel it fully
  2. Notice it without avoidance
  3. Ask your higher self to give you:

“Maximum healing that serves highest good, please.”

Then:

  • Relax
  • Stay present with the sensation

You may feel:

  • Vibrations
  • Emotional movement
  • Energy releasing

Sometimes the release is quite rapid!

Healing Invocation Resource

You can find this method for free at:

astroshaman.com/invocations

Other effective tools include:

  • Breathwork
  • Internal Family Systems
  • Any shadow work modality that works for you

Under a Scorpio Full Moon, shadow material is more likely to surface. It’s an ideal time to work with it!

The “Great Onion of Consciousness”

This process ties into what I call the Great Onion of Consciousness. This is described in my book Instant Divine Assistance: Your Complete Guide to Fast and Easy Spiritual Awakening, Healing, and More).

The idea:

  • Your higher self radiates light
  • Trauma layers block that light
  • Each healing removes a layer

As layers fall away:

  • More light flows in
  • Consciousness upgrades automatically

This is an ongoing, infinite process.

Why Shadow Work Matters

If you don’t heal emotional pain:

  • It repeats endlessly in this lifetime
  • It may carry into future lifetimes

If you do heal it:

  • Relief comes quickly (with effective tools)
  • Your life improves in wonderful and often unpredictable ways

Scorpio Full Moons are ideal for this work.

Wealth and Power

Scorpio also rules wealth and power.

Wealth

Wealth includes not just money and possessions, but anything of value:

  • Material
  • Emotional
  • Spiritual

Ask yourself: “What exact kind of wealth do I want more of?”

Power

Power has two forms:

Dark power (service to self):

  • Manipulation
  • Greed
  • Exploitation

Light power (service to others):

  • Upliftment
  • Collective benefit
  • Conscious leadership

Examples of light power:

  • Jesus Christ
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Mother Teresa

Ask: “What kind of power do I want to embody?”

Occult Practices

Scorpio rules the occult—which simply means “hidden.”

In astronomy, an object is “occulted” when it’s hidden from view.

Occult practices include:

  • Astrology
  • Tarot
  • Numerology
  • Psychic work
  • Mediumship
  • Channeling

These can be practiced in fully positive, high-vibration ways.

Scorpio and Relationships

Scorpio supports:

  • Deep intimacy
  • Emotional honesty
  • Raw authenticity

It invites you to:

  • Be fully seen
  • See others fully

Scorpio–Taurus Axis: Sensuality & Sexuality

With the Moon in Scorpio and Sun in Taurus:

  • Scorpio → deep, transformative, sacred sexuality
  • Taurus → sensual, slow, embodied pleasure

Together:

  • Depth + presence
  • Intensity + enjoyment

This is powerful energy for intimate connection.

Pluto & Juno Square the Full Moon

The Sun and Moon are square Pluto and Juno. This amplifies everything Scorpio represents.

A square (90°) indicates:

  • Tension
  • Turning points
  • Necessary change

If challenges arise:

  • Something is ready to evolve
  • Something needs release or transformation

Juno: Committed Partnerships

Juno represents committed partnerships, not just romantic ones:

  • Friendships
  • Business relationships
  • Even ongoing conflicts

During this Full Moon:

  • Relationships may intensify
  • Challenges may surface
  • Opportunities for deeper connection arise

Ask:

  • Can this relationship evolve?
  • Can it deepen?
  • Can it improve?

Triple Conjunction: Mercury, Chiron & Eris

During this Scorpio Full Moon, Mercury sits between Chiron and Eris.

  • Mercury → communication, thinking
  • Chiron → wounds, healing
  • Eris → disruption, necessary disturbance

This can manifest as:

  • Communicating healing insights
  • Speaking truth about difficult issues
  • Stirring things up for positive change

Eris invites constructive disruption:

  • Highlight what’s not working
  • Initiate improvement

Mars quintile Pluto

Mars quintile Pluto joins the two sexual planets.

Mars is raw lust, and just wants its sexual pleasure. Pluto can support sacred sex. The quintile magically connects them under the Scorpio Full Moon.

The two weeks after the  Full Moon are really awesome for enjoying that deeper level of connection with your lover, if that’s appropriate.

Saturn sextile Juno

Saturn sextile Juno is a great stabilizer and enhancer for committed partnerships.

Individual Events in the First Half of May

Instead of only talking about things that actually aspect the Sun and Moon, I’m now looking at anything in the Full Moon chart that looks interesting.

May 1: Venus Sextile Saturn

Also on May 1st, the same day as the Full Moon, we have Venus sextile Saturn (9°14′ Gemini-Aries).

Venus has three core meanings:

  • Relationship
  • Creativity
  • Money

The sextile is a harmonious and energizing aspect. Saturn, especially with a soft aspect, is a great support guy.

Basically, Saturn says, “I can help you create structure around any of the Venus themes.”

So if you want to take a relationship and give it greater stability or structure, this aspect is great for that.

If you’re an artist and you want to take your creativity and get a better structure, maybe be more productive with it, it’s great for that.

If you’ve got some money stuff to take care of, this aspect will help you structure your finances a little more easily.

Venus is in Gemini. One obvious way to use that is creative writing. So if you’re a creative writer, or just want to do some harmonious relating, same idea. This is great for that too.

The events in this forecast happen on particular days. But my experience is these individual aspects, even with quick planets, will last at least a few days either side. They tend to be a little stronger leading up to the exact moment and a little weaker on the separating side, but you can use them for a few days either side of the actual event.

May 1: Mercury Conjunct Chiron

Also on May 1st, we have Mercury conjunct Chiron at 27°32′ Aries.

I already interpreted that, along with their Triple Conjunction with Eris, here.

May 2: Jupiter Sextile Ceres

On May 2nd, we have Jupiter sextile Ceres (19°7′ Cancer-Taurus).

Ceres is one of the four main asteroid goddesses. And in this context, it’s a very abundant kind of potential.

Ceres and Jupiter both support prosperity. Jupiter in ancient astrology is the luckiest planet, the Great Benefic, associated with abundance and prosperity.

Ceres is the grain goddess. And what does she give us at harvest time? Abundance—all kinds of grain and everything else being harvested at that time.

And again, a sextile is a harmonious energizing aspect.

So there’s more luck than usual around abundance themes, whether that’s money itself or just anything good coming your way, tangible or intangible.

Definitely go for what you want here on May 2nd in a harmonious way, since your prosperity vibes are stronger than usual.

May 2: Mercury Enters Taurus

Also on May 2nd, we have Mercury entering Taurus. Mercury will be there a couple of weeks, through May 16th.

Mercury is all mental things. It’s learning, thinking, writing, teaching, and communicating. Taurus makes this more grounded and practical. If you need to put your mind on practical matters, it’s a great time for that.

Taurus, being fixed earth, is the most stable sign in the zodiac. So it can stabilize your thinking and help you keep focused on one thing longer.

Putting your mind on very grounded, practical things is obviously good.

May 4: Mars Square Jupiter

On May 4th, Mars squares Jupiter (19°30′ Aries-Cancer). This is one of our bigger events of the two-week period.

To start, let’s just strip down to planet level.

Mars has four main ways it loves to express:

  • The warrior
  • The pioneer
  • The entrepreneur
  • The sexual being

Jupiter’s nature is to expand whatever it touches. So you have more energy for any of those Mars things you want to do.

The square, being a hard aspect, tends to energize more strongly. The nature of a square, that 90-degree aspect, is to turn a corner.

So with your Mars activities—warrior, pioneer, entrepreneur, sexuality—is there something you want to expand, make bigger, or get more strongly into? These are all great things to do under a Mars–Jupiter square.

Mars is in Aries, the sign he rules. So Mars is extremely powerful. Therefore, you’ve got a lot more get-up-and-go with Mars as a raw initiator.

This echoes that New Moon energy where Mars was in Aries with a bunch of other Aries planets. So this is saying, yes, we’ve still got some good get-up-and-go, make-it-happen energy here if you want to get some things started.

Usually we think of the slower planet stimulating the quicker planet. Mars is quicker than Jupiter, but Mars can also light up Jupiter themes. And Jupiter has more themes than any other planet!

Jupiter can say:

  • “I want to be a higher-level student”
  • “I want to be a wisdom giver”
  • “I want to understand the meaning of life.”
  • “I want to explore foreign countries or things that are foreign to me”
  • “I want to be adventurous”
  • “I want to go on a quest”
  • “I want to have fiery, big, wonderful emotions and experiences”
  • “I want to live life out loud and big”

Those kinds of things can be enhanced with Mars squaring Jupiter.

Jupiter in Cancer also says, “I’m expanding the themes of home, family, or emotions.” So these themes can also be enhanced with the Mars–Jupiter square. They might come up spontaneously, or you can choose to focus on them.

May 5: Mercury Square Pluto

On May 5th, we have Mercury square Pluto (5°30′ Taurus-Aquarius).

This is huge empowerment of all the Mercury potentials already mentioned:

  • Learn
  • Think
  • Write
  • Teach
  • Communicate

Therefore, you can really get your thinking cap on and do strong mental work.

Mercury in Taurus tends to hold more rigidly to its beliefs, but Pluto wants to transform beliefs that don’t serve you. So you might be challenged to change the way you think about something.

One thing I’ve learned in 66 years is that I hold no fixed beliefs as definitive and final. I’ve been wrong about plenty of things I was sure about! So I hold conditional beliefs, but don’t say absolutely that something is the one true way about anything.

If you find one of your beliefs being challenged, consider, “What if that was not true? What other possibilities does that open up?”

As you experiment with a new way of thinking, you might use my favorite acronym. It’s SETTGEFN: safe enough to try, good enough for now.

May 6: Three Quintiles

Moving on to May 6th, we have three quintiles on one day.

A quintile is a 72° aspect. It’s magical, it’s fairy dust, it’s inspiring.

So there’s a lot of inspiration here on May 6th and the days around it!

Mars Quintile Juno

The first is Mars quintile Juno (20°27′ Aries-8°27′ Aquarius). You might be inspired on how you can put fresh assertive energy into a committed partnership of some kind.

May 6: Venus Quintile Neptune

We also have Venus quintile Neptune (15°26′ Gemini-3°26′ Aries).

This is a lovely quintile. Neptune is Venus’s higher octave. There are a couple of ways we can pair these.

Artistically:

  • Venus is human creativity through effort.
  • Neptune is divinely inspired creativity that flows down spontaneously.
  • The quintile is the magical creative aspect.

If you look at Mozart’s chart, it’s full of quintiles.

So May 6th is an amazing day for doing creative stuff and having that creative flow come in super strong. Definitely set some time aside with your muse if you’re creatively inclined!

Venus is also relating. This means you might be able to tune in more to the energy of the beings you’re relating with, whether they’re human, nature, or divine beings—whoever or whatever you’re connecting with. Neptune dissolves the boundaries between things, so you might feel more blended with them. This aspect is great for relating more empathically with other humans or beings.

Neptune also rules divinity and oneness, so Venus quintile Neptune is amazing for going in and having a deeper mystical experience.

This would be a good time to try my Embodied Awakening Invocation.

Earlier I mentioned my invocation for healing. But my foundational invocation is to be one with your higher self by calling it into your human body. Just say to it:

“Maximum embodied awakening that serves highest good, please.”

Let the words go, relax, be passive.

You’ll actually feel your higher self coming in and saturating you like water soaking into a sponge. Just give it a few seconds and you’ll feel topped off. This can put you right into an awakened state.

It’s so easy because your higher self is already awake, and it basically just comes and shares its awakening with your human part. No muss, no fuss, no endless repetition of techniques and effort. It just happens!

You can click here to check out a free video that walks you through that, as well as my three other invocations.

May 6: Mercury Quintile Jupiter

The other quintile is Mercury quintile Jupiter (7°47′ Taurus-19°47′ Cancer). This is another really great combo, because these are the two planets of learning and teaching.

As I already mentioned, Mercury can help you:

  • Think
  • Learn
  • Teach
  • Write
  • Communicate

Mercury can be a Trivial Pursuit master, and can talk or think about anything. But Jupiter says, “I’m not interested in just anything. I want meaning.” Jupiter rules religion, philosophy, and the meaning of life.

So with Mercury magically connecting to Jupiter, it’s easier to have more profound thinking and wisdom focus.

May 6: Pluto Turns Retrograde

Pluto Glyph 720x377Pluto turns retrograde on May 6th at 11:34 am EDT (5°30′ Aquarius).

He’ll stay retrograde through October 15th at 3°4′ Aquarius. That’s about five months, which is typical for a Pluto retrograde period. When an outer planet stations, it’s a big deal.

Fortunately, I did a deep dive on Scorpio during my May 1 Full Moon interpretation. And everything I said about Scorpio applies to Pluto. All those themes and potentials are stronger while Pluto is stationing.

And it’s not just the day of May 6th. The retrograde shift is felt two or three weeks either side of the retrograde.

If Pluto is making hard aspects to sensitive points in your horoscope, they’re catalyzed more strongly.

Pluto stations retrograde at 5°30′ Aquarius, which is a fixed sign. To see where this impacts your chart, look for anything between 2°30′ and 8°30′ in the fixed signs Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius.

Any sensitive points you have in those areas — a planet, an angle, or any other important point—will be strongly stimulated by Pluto changing direction. You might notice the themes of that point being energized.

May 7: Pallas Athena Conjunct Neptune (and Sextile Uranus)

Pallas Athena SmallerOn May 7th, Pallas Athena conjoins Neptune (3°27 Aries).

Pallas Athena is one of the four asteroid goddesses. She’s the warrior goddess, and sprang fully armored from the forehead of Zeus.

Female protagonists in superhero movies share the Pallas Athena archetype. The movies always have them fighting because that’s more dramatic.

But Pallas Athena is also really good at strategy, cunning, and working smart instead of hard. Ask yourself, “Instead of using brute force, can I be strategic and get a good outcome?”

Again, I would ask not just, “Can you get your own selfish best outcome?” but, “Can you facilitate an outcome that’s good for everybody?”

Pallas Athena, in doing this, uses other gifts, which include:

  • Mediation
  • Negotiation
  • Diplomacy
  • Seeing if we can all work it out together

Neptune is the flow of divine inspiration. So with any of these Pallas Athena activities, relax and say, “Hey, higher self, would you inspire me with what to do here? And would you flow energy to me to help it happen? Don’t just give me the idea — give me the divine energy to do it with.”

Uranus, sextile Pallas Athena during the Scorpio Full Moon, will add intuitive hits. He may also inspire you to do something innovative as you move forward with your Pallas Athena strategies.

May 10: Sun Sextile Jupiter

On May 10th, the Sun sextiles Jupiter (20°25′ Taurus-Cancer).

Overall, a Sun–Jupiter sextile is broadly energizing. The sun is the core of your identity and vitality. So you might feel lit up and energized, with lots of get-up-and-go energy.

The Sun’s in Taurus, so you can focus more easily on Taurus themes if you wish:

  • Enjoy the five senses
  • Relax in nature
  • Be steady and productive in your work
  • Simply be

May 12: Venus Quintile Saturn

On May 12th, Venus quintiles Saturn (22°25′ Gemini-10°25 Aries). Another quintile!

Saturn stabilizes the three main themes of Venus. The most obvious way to use this is creatively, because Venus and a quintile go well together. Llike May 6th, this is a day when creative inspiration can be especially strong and productive.

You can also create better structures in your relationships or finances.

Venus is still in Gemini, which is great for creative writing or harmonious communication.

May 13: Mercury Sextile Jupiter

We have Mercury sextile Jupiter on May 13th (20°45′ Taurus-Cancer).

Mercury and Jupiter, joined by a harmonious, flowing sextile, are great for:

  • Communication
  • Thinking
  • Higher education
  • Sharing wisdom
  • All mental activities

May 13: Vesta Enters Aries

Vesta enters Aries on May 13th.

Vesta is the asteroid goddess of selfless service to a higher cause. She starts a new journey through the zodiac as she comes into the first sign.

Ask yourself, “Is there something I want to do that may not benefit me directly, but will help a cause I believe in? I want to contribute energy, money, or time to support it somehow.”

What’s unusual here is how long Vesta is going to be in Aries, this energy of initiating and getting up and making things happen. Vesta will retrograde entirely in Aries, and won’t leave the sign until February 15, 2027.

It’s a great time to put energy into your selfless service to a higher cause!

May 14: Sun Conjunct Mercury

The Sun and Mercury conjoin on May 14th (23°48′ Taurus).

This energizes thinking, learning, writing, and communication. In Taurus, you can do this steadily and productively.

Coming Up in the May 16–31 Forecast

Coming up in my May 16-31 forecast, we’re going to have two lunations:

  • A Taurus New Moon
  • A Blue Moon Full Moon in Sagittarius

We’ll also have Mars conjunct Chiron and square Pluto, some strong Mars action in the second half of the month, and an intense adjustment aspect pattern for relationships, creativity, and finance. Plus Uranus conjunct Sedna!
