March Equinox

The March Equinox happens as the Sun enters Aries on 3/20 at 10:46 am EDT. The equinox chart sets the overall tone for the next three months.

Equinoxes are a twice-yearly reset where light equals dark. They support clarity, equilibrium, and new beginnings.

0° Aries is a pure starting point. It’s ideal for initiating personal projects, setting goals, and embracing new directions in life. You can fire up your passion and courage to break old patterns.

To start, commit to a concrete first step in an area where you feel stagnant.

Mercury turns direct on 3/20 at 3:33 pm EDT (8°29′ Pisces). The winged messenger turned retrograde on 2/26 (22°33′ Pisces).

You’re now greenlighted to proceed with any major purchases or contract signings you delayed because of Mercury retrograde. It’s also good that we’re under a waxing moon, the best moon phase for new beginnings.

Mercury reversed course and turns direct entirely within Pisces, so this is a great time to focus new action on the final sign’s positive potentials. These include spiritual awakening, expressing inspired creativity, and operating “in the zone.” Pisces also supports working with dreams and embodying deeper unconditional love and compassion.

Pisces New Moon w/ 3 Slower Planets

There’s a New Moon on 3/18 at 9:23 pm EDT (28°27’ Pisces).

Any New Moon is great for new beginnings or renewed energy. But you’ll have even more support if you focus on Pisces themes.

We’ll first look at only these two planets, then touch on the Minor Grand Trine they co-create with Uranus and Neptune.

The 60° sextile is harmonious and energizing. Saturn in Aries supports action, discipline, long-term planning, and personal accountability. Pluto in Aquarius empowers transformation, empowerment, and innovation.

2-Month “Finger of God” Insists on Change

A Yod (“Finger of God”) – combining a sextile (60°) and two quincunxes (150°) – is one of the most karmic and pressurized configurations in astrology. It points like a finger toward something inescapable.

This potent Yod with Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node starts on 3/20, peaks on 4/10, and ends on 5/14. Saturn and Pluto — two of astrology’s most intense planets – form the Yod’s base, while the South Node sits at the apex.

Saturn & Pluto

Saturn and Pluto work toward:

• Systemic transformation, with old power structures being dismantled and rebuilt
• Disciplined destruction: purposefully tearing down only what’s outlived its usefulness
• Institutional reckoning as governments, corporations, and religions face structural reform

Saturn and Pluto are cooperating through the sextile. This lets you do the focused work of transformation more smoothly and easily.

The South Node

The South Node at the apex represents:

• The collective and personal past, including what’s already been mastered, inherited, or exhausted
• Karmic patterns seeking release
• Old grooves that have become traps
• Unconscious ancestral and generational memories

As the Yod’s apex, the South Node becomes the pressure point. The combined force of Saturn and Pluto aims directly at the past, saying, “It’s time to release everything that no longer serves the highest good.”

The structures, ideologies, and power arrangements that belong to a previous era are ripe for removal. This can include outdated political systems, extractive economic models, and domineering hierarchies.

The quincunx is an adjustment aspect. It creates discomfort that can only be resolved through reorientation.

The danger of a South Node apex is regression. When pressure mounts, the South Node’s craving for the familiar — which could be “the devil we know” – can be strong. Collectively, this could manifest as desperate clinging to crumbling power structures, or reactionary movements gaining temporary strength because of this dissolution.

Strategy and Timing

Yods don’t guarantee conscious evolution, only pressure. We each have to choose how we handle it.

On a personal level, identify what you’ve outgrown. Release trauma and old karma consciously. (My free Healing Invocation has helped thousands do this quickly and easily.) Look backward only for healing and understanding, so you can move forward more easily!

The latter part of March is when the pattern tightens. Mid-April marks peak pressure and revelation. Finally, mid-May is a good time to integrate what you’ve experienced.

If you do your inner work well during this intense process, you can emerge positively and profoundly transformed!

Sun-Focused Minor Grand Trine

The Sun joins with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto on 3/17 to form an 11-day Minor Grand Trine. This harmonious aspect pattern peaks on 3/22 and ends on 3/27.

The four slower planets have been sustaining their own Minor Grand Trine since April 2025, which continues through mid-April 2026. And the three outer planets (the “gods of change”) will continue their epic Minor Grand Trine – this decade’s most important astrology event – through mid-2030.

Looked at one way, the Sun adds energy to the gods of change Minor Grand Trine’s world-shaking effects.

But the usual way to look at planetary patterns is to think of the slower planets affecting the quicker ones. Here, that means the influence of the slower planets on the Sun.

Since the Sun changes signs during this aspect pattern, we’ll examine this in two parts.
