Venus Retrograde begins during the first half of March, inviting reflection on relationships, money and more. 2017’s most potent Grand Cross peaks, and one of its most powerful aspects – a Jupiter-Uranus opposition – perfects. We also have a Virgo Full Moon, a rare exact Triple Conjunction, and more!

Thor’s Hammer Peaks: Mercury-Vesta-Jupiter
The Mercury-Vesta-Jupiter Thor’s Hammer that started on 2/27 peaks today (3/1) and ends on 3/3. As I noted on 2/27, Jupiter rules politics, and is in the justice-loving sign of Libra. Vesta represents service to a higher cause, and is in the compassionate sign of Cancer.
These two planets form the back end of the Thor’s Hammer, and direct their energy toward outspoken Mercury in idealistic Pisces. This Thor’s Hammer can also energize your support of whatever cause you find worthy, political or otherwise.
Spiritual communion and inspired creativity are empowered by a Sun-Neptune conjunction (11°42′ Pisces). But be careful not to overdo the low side of this energy: aimlessness, playing the victim, overdoing escapist activities and substance abuse.
3/2 (Thu)
Jupiter-Uranus Opposition
Unto itself, a Jupiter-Uranus opposition (22°11′ Libra-Aries) can spur political revolution, amplify genius and help take relationships to the next level. But this aspect, in effect thru 5/1, isn’t operating alone! It’s part of three hard aspect patterns:
- a Mars-Vesta-Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto Grand Cross effective through 3/8,
- a Vesta-Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto Grand Cross active 4/20, and
- a Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square in effect through 5/1.
I invite you to follow the links to discover how this opposition is playing out in each of these aspect patterns.
Your practical thinking can be intuitively inspired with Mercury quintile Saturn (8°49′ Pisces-26°49′ Sagittarius). This fairy dust aspect is also excellent for manifesting your creative inspirations.

Venus Retrograde
Venus turns retrograde today at 13°8′ Aries, and will turn direct again in six weeks on 4/15 at 26°55′ Pisces.
When a planet is retrograde, it’s a good time to reflect on its archetypal meanings. Venus represents relationships, creativity, money and values. While she’s retrograde in Aries, thru 4/2, reflect on how you’re stepping up as a pioneer, leader, warrior or sexual being in these areas. While she’s retrograde in Pisces, 4/3 thru 4/15, contemplate how you’re integrating divine awareness, intuitive flow and inspired creativity into these fields of life.
If possible, wait until Venus turns direct on 4/15 to take significant action in these areas. But if a situation in one of these areas clearly requires action before then, do what you have to do!
You can lighten your logical load under a Mercury-Neptune conjunction (11°47′ Pisces). Under this aspect it’s easier to receive information intuitively, instead of having to work through it rationally. When decision-making, ask your higher self for the answer, then leave a moment of silence to receive it. If the answer doesn’t come right then, watch for it in the outer world through omens or synchronicity.
Your higher intelligence is always sending you information on your optimal actions. The more you stay open and watch for it, the more flowing your life will become!
3/5 (Sun)
You can enjoy an easy flow of Energizer Bunny productivity with Mars trine Saturn (26°59′ Aries-Sagittarius). This smooth aspect can also support sexual stamina and mature leadership.
3/6 (Mon)
Grand Cross Peaks: Vesta-Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto
The most important Grand Cross of 2017 peaks today! It began on 1/19 and will wrap up on 4/20. What follows is a slightly edited version of my 1/19 Grand Cross forecast.
This Grand Cross is so powerful for two reasons:
- It incorporates the revolutionary Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square, and
- It lasts for three months!
I’ve already written extensively about the Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square. Here’s a brief excerpt from my December 11 interpretation to give you a flavor (or reminder) of it:
The Jupiter-Uranus-Pluto T-square, which lasts until 5/1, is one of the strongest astrological events of 2017.
At the most basic level, Jupiter is rekindling the power of the waning Uranus-Pluto square. This amplifies the power of revolutionary transformation. Pluto in Capricorn can take a wrecking ball to old structures that have outlived their usefulness, while supporting new structures whose time has come. Pluto normally takes its time, but Uranus in Aries has no patience. It wants those changes yesterday! On a personal level, this square can fuel the acceleration of your own life-affirming changes in all areas.

Vesta
What does Vesta add to the party? For starters, she’s about honing yourself into a finely tuned instrument, like an athlete in training. Once you’re skillful enough to be helpful to others, the next step is to devote yourself to a higher cause. Ideally, this focus on service to others fills you with tremendous joy and satisfaction. (If not, find a path of service that does!)
The final way I interpret Vesta is controversial, and you certainly don’t have to work with it if it doesn’t resonate for you. It’s the practice of sex magic: using arousal and orgasm to energize your Law of Attraction manifestations.
Yes, the Vestal Virgins were sworn to celibacy. But their pre-patriarchal predecessors in other cultures, also represented by the Vesta archetype, were not. Societies that were less erotiphobic and more connected to the earth openly celebrated the power of sexuality to enhance abundance of all kinds. If you’re open to it, you can too!

It’s unusual to have a Grand Cross this powerful last so long. This gives you plenty of time to work with whatever flavors of this potent aspect pattern call to you!
Your mental powers are heightened thanks to a Sun-Mercury conjunction (16°37′ Pisces). These planets’ placement in Pisces invites you to let your inner wisdom guide you more than your logic.
3/7 (Tue)
No major astrology events.
3/8 (Wed)
Your mind can probe into the depths of what’s really going on thanks to a Mercury-Pluto sextile (18°56′ Pisces-Capricorn). This is also a great time to focus your attention on the occult and sacred sex. You can also tend to more mainstream matters such as insurance, taxes and joint ventures.
3/9 (Thu)
You have the juju available to open to the next level of your inner consciousness with the Sun sextile Pluto (18°57′ Pisces-Capricorn). This aspect also empowers creative inspiration and dream work.
Those mental adjustments you’ve been wanting to make can be easier as Mercury quincunxes Jupiter (21°38′ Pisces-Libra). For some, this aspect can exacerbate anxiety or excessive verbosity. Many of my clients with these tendencies have found my free Heal and Awaken Invocations to have a profoundly calming effect.
Mars transits Taurus thru 4/21, supporting a “steady Eddie” approach to accomplishment. Take plenty of time with your lover, subtly stroking their entire body into an erogenous zone. Exercise outdoors. And be adventurous with your five senses, exposing yourself to new sights, sounds, scents, tastes and touch.
3/10 (Fri)
Your mental health can be supported more easily as Mercury conjoins Chiron (24°27′ Pisces). This conjunction also supports mentoring and energy healing.
3/11 (Sat)
What course adjustments would make your life more wonderful in the areas of spirituality and creative expression? It’s an ideal time to make them with the Sun quincunx Jupiter (21°26′ Pisces-Libra).
3/12 (Sun)
Virgo Full Moon
March’s Full Moon shines forth at 10:54 AM EDT (22°13′ Virgo). Any Virgo Full Moon is good for reflecting on how you’re doing in the areas of service, health, and the efficiency of your systems and procedures.
It’s easy for the Virgo love of service to get distorted into victimhood. Be sure you’re getting as good as you’re giving. Ideally, this means that your acts of service are followed by a wonderful feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction. The “getting” can also include material compensation.
Aspects
Three planets are opposing the Moon in this lunation, in addition to the Sun. The tightest opposition is from Pallas, who invites you to step more firmly into your feminine assertiveness. Can you use strategy and negotiation to achieve your ends instead of brute force? And can you achieve a win-win solution?
Chiron is also in tight opposition to the Moon. This can stimulate old psychological wounds, but only so that they can be healed once and for all. Many have found my free Healing Invocation and Simple Focus Healing technique helpful in putting old emotional challenges to rest once and for all.
The final opposition to the Moon is from Mercury. This inquires whether your communication is as effective as it could be. A book I highly recommend for learning how to communicate better in stressful situations is Nonviolent Communication, 3rd Edition by Marshall Rosenberg.
The Sun, Pallas, Chiron and Mercury are all in Pisces. This lets you more easily implement a Pisces/Virgo strategy that I’ve found extremely helpful: get as much guidance as possible from your intuition (Pisces), then organize and implement it using your logic and rationality (Virgo).
T-square
These Pisces planets and the Virgo Moon all make squares to Saturn to form a T-square. So don’t be surprised if your efforts to implement these suggestions initially meet resistance. To get past the hump, adopt the Saturnian virtues of discipline, maturity, persistence and good time management.
Mystic Rectangle
The Moon and Sun also form a Mystic Rectangle with Pluto and Vesta. You can use this flowing, magical aspect pattern to bring life-affirming transformation in service to a higher cause. You can explore sacred sexuality, in which the energy bodies of you and your partner blend to create mystical states of ecstasy. This aspect pattern also supports sex magic, as described in my 3/6 Grand Cross forecast.
That Grand Cross, which includes Vesta, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto, is also part of this lunation. It’s not the centerpiece, since the Moon connects to these planets by soft or minor aspects. But its overall energy of revolutionary transformation, as well as the particular focuses contributed by Vesta and Jupiter, are very much in the game here.
Sabian Symbol
This Full Moon’s Sabian Symbol is, “A lion tamer rushes fearlessly into the circus arena.” On the spiritual level, the lion tamer represents you as an awakened being. You have overcome your fear by realizing your oneness with all things. It’s hard to be scared of yourself! ;-)
Your presence in the circus arena spotlight shows you demonstrating your accomplishment to the world. You do this not to gain personal glory, but to demonstrate to others that they can do it too

Are you allowing others to control your thinking and expression, or are you censoring yourself? With Mercury square Saturn (27°17′ Pisces-Sagittarius), you can instead choose to create a mental structure in which your flow of intuitive wisdom is welcomed and shared. This aspect also supports Law of Attraction manifestation.
3/13 (Mon)
Mercury transits Aries today through 3/31. This is great for original thinking and fiery communication. For best karmic results, “fire up” people to serve the highest good of all.
3/14 (Tue)
Cradle Begins: Ceres-Vesta-Juno-Neptune-Pluto
A Cradle begins today featuring three asteroid goddesses – Vesta, Ceres and Juno – and the two outermost planets, Neptune and Pluto. This Cradle peaks on 3/27 and ends on 4/4.
During the three weeks this aspect pattern is in effect, look at your self-worth. Are you letting your view of yourself be shaped mostly by the opinions of those you’re close to? Are you judging yourself based on the good works you’re doing in the world? Or have you awakened enough to realize that you are 100% worthy of unconditional love simply because you exist?
This Cradle offers a strong and smooth container in which to heal old emotional wounds, and also supports Law of Attraction work to enhance your material abundance. There’s also plenty of flow and power to support service to a higher cause.
Today’s Neptune-Ceres sextile is part of the Cradle that starts today. Its meanings are included in the Cradle interpretation.
Triple conjunction: Sun-Pallas-Chiron
It’s extremely rare that three planets are exactly conjunct, but that’s what happens today with the Sun, Pallas and Chiron. For 10 minutes – from 10:50 to 11 pm EDT — all three planets are conjunct to the minute of arc at 24°42′ Pisces. (This triple conjunction’s effects will also be felt for about a week coming and going.)
This combination supports taking the initiative to get healing assistance. With all three planets in Pisces, spiritual healing receives special support. It may also prove cathartic to give your creative inspiration uninhibited expression. Even if this isn’t the optimal moment to move into a deep healing process, you can at least create a strategy for doing so as soon as possible.
Mentoring is also strongly supported by this aspect pattern. This could have a spiritual or creative flavor (Pisces), or could focus on feminine assertiveness or practical creativity (Pallas).
3/15 (Wed)

Void-of-Course Moons
It’s best to avoid starting important new projects or making major purchases during void-of-course Moons. “Business as usual” is the optimal strategy. Void-of-course Moons occur when the Moon has made her last major Ptolemaic aspect, but has not yet moved into her next sign.
